They were managing to help me and those who came into the store with a warm, friendly, professional and Extremely helpful attitude. What I loved most about them was their personality and their kindness. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or I feel like I didn't know what I was doing. I prefer Sephora over MAC only because they carry a million different brands there, but since MAC only carry MAC stuff, they are super knowledgeable about their products and how to apply makeup. Apparently artists here are only allow to wear their products on shift too so they can promote what they're selling. I've only found one mascara that actually works on my short straight eyelashes, the Zoom Lashes found here! It's always a debate whether I want non-waterproof mascara that will smear or waterproof mascara that is impossible to remove by the end of the day. Park at the main entrance, this location is right straight inside across from PINK. Once a blue moon, they do promos like free lipstick if you want to stand in line. I was celebrating a birthday on Sat, Feb 3, 2018 and decided to get my make up done before a day out with friends. I scheduled an appointment at MAC and to my surprise Arnell was the artist scheduled to do my make up! I immediately knew I was in for a treat - I've watched her in the corner of my eyes for months/years and knew she was an amazing artist. When we started the session, her comments to me were, "You have amazing skin and you are really pretty, since you wear make up already -let's transform your look." She was extremely precise, took her time and paid attention to each and every detail as it pertained to color, enhancing my features, eyebrows and customizing colors to get to a perfect shade for me. When Arnell finished my make up, I was blown away. Literally! It was beyond imaginable, I felt like a walking work of art. She highlighted every feature of my face. I literally looked like a super-model. I am extremely appreciative of her gift and delighted she shared it with me on my birthday. There were 2 employees working & 3 customers roaming around the store. 2 customers being helped by 1 staff & the other just looking at herself in the mirror touching up her make-up. Everywhere was booked on a Saturday; however, MAC at southcenter was able to fit me in and I was already grateful. I was lucky to have Joel as my artist, and he was AMAZING!!! Joel asked questions, listened to what I wanted and he worked his magic. I was extremely impressed by how meticulous and detailed Joel was with everything he did. I received the most amazing customer service from Taylor that I had to leave a review! This young lady is so welcoming, kind and very knowledgeable! I had no clue what I was doing while shopping for my teen for a Christmas gift and she was so patient while I asked 20 questions and she made great suggestions. I've found that customer service at MAC stores/booths tend to suck, but this location is especially crappy. I feel like the employees are unattentive, rude, and straight up unprofessional. On countless occasions, I've found myself standing around for 10-15 minutes trying to get someone's attention. I typically come to the mall underdressed and I feel like they're unwilling to help you if you don't look you're going to buy a ton of products. Their bad, because I am a MAC junkie. I once went in to try out some new shades of lipstick and the "artist" tried to put it on me without sanitizing the lipstick first. Well, lucky for me I know just how gross that is and stopped her dead in her tracks. I really don't have anything nice to say about the majority of the people who work here, so I'll just leave it at that. I love MAC products and I hate that the service is so crappy here because sometimes I'll be in the mood to purchase something, but skip it completely because I don't feel like dealing with the stanktude divas who work there. I came to MAC at Southcenter to have my makeup done for my engagement pictures. I made an appointment a few weeks ago and was told it will be done in the back in a private room and it will be $50 with a complementary mascara. I showed her a couple pictures of what I wanted, she took those pictures to mean that it's a light smokey eye, maybe she saw it differently than me but I thought the pictures spoke for themselves. I came in with my eyebrows done how I do them because I'm very particular, and I didn't have any makeup on. Was told my eyebrows were too harsh for my face, fine, thought she could do them better since she's the professional. The end result was, I had so much face makeup on that sunk into every pore and wrinkle I felt like I looked 10 years older, my top eyeliner was uneven, never made it to the "private room" I was just sitting in the store, and the eyeshadow was almost non existent when I took a picture on my phone. Photographers always say wear your makeup heavier than normal so it shows nice, would think someone who does makeup for brides all the time and has been with MAC for 10+years would know this. I've seen other people with great results when they got their makeup don't at MAC but I was not as lucky. I didn't tell her I hated it, I had to drive across town to get to my photo shoot, thankfully had enough time to wipe my face and do my makeup how I normally do it. I will not be returning to this specific store in Southcenter mall. As wonderful as the product may be, the customer service we received (which was hardly any) was terrible. She was the only associate and as a previous sales associate from other stores, I can def understand the difficulty one person can have being on the sales floor. However, this experience my friend and I had was the worst. My friend already knew which product she wanted to buy. She went to the wall, grabbed the box and we both waited at the front counter. The sales associate was already helping a customer. This was totally fine. She told us that she'd help us as soon as she picked some lipsticks out for the customer. I've been coming to this place since high school and it's definitely gone down hill. On two occasions I've had serious issues with the customer service. One time they sold me a tester. When I realized it tje next day I tried to return it and they wouldn't exchange it! I called corporate and complained. I spend $100+ every time. Came in last Saturday to ask about creating a day look with some eye shadows to match my skin tone. I just got a new job and I wanted to feel and look more put together. My friend recommended MAC and said, 'They work for commission so they're really nice.' I had initially gone to the Bellevue location, had a good experience with finding a good foundation, but didn't want to drive up there again, when the Tukwila location was closer. I entered, and as previous reviewers have stated, I was completely ignored. I had no makeup on because I figured a clean slate was the right thing to do. Others were getting makeovers. No one stated they would be right with me or anything. I figured they were busy and would come back later. When I returned, I stood around for a little white, and again was ignored. I walked in on a very busy Sunday not thinking I would get much help. I had all my stuff stolen from me recently so I had to take on the expensive task of replacing my brushes and other key items. I walked over to the brush wall and was looking around . Not even a min later Ivan came and introduced himself . I told him what happened and he started right away with suggesting all the brushes I may need , grabbing them and putting them by the register . It was very nice to have help and advice on the products . He even looked up my PRO card because I didn't have it on me !! It was so nice of Ivan I highly suggest him . I also was in a month or so ago to do the back-to-MAC program where you exchange 6 empty items for new and free items!! I didn't catch her name but one of the associates helped me choose 3 lipsticks, swatched them , and rang me up for a free transaction !!! I have a couple products that I buy routinely from Mac. My foundation being one of them. The last two times I've gone to this store I've received terrible service. ALL of the employees were either doing makeovers on other clients, or walking around helping and fetching items for those getting makeovers. On both occasions I walked in and stood at the register because I literally only needed to pay for my item and get out. On both occasions, employees walked up to the register to add items to the piles of makeup stacked on the counter (items the people getting makeovers were purchasing), and did not acknowledge my presence. My last visit resulted in myself, and another customer leaving the store without our purchases after waiting at the empty checkout counter and being ignored for 5 minutes. The visit prior to that, I waited ignored at the checkout counter for 10 minutes before being acknowledged. It seems that this store caters more to prom/special occasion people who are just making the one time minimum purchase to get makeovers. The regulars who come in knowing exactly what they want, are treated like garbage. You would think that Mac would train their associates on who their bread and butter clients are, but based on the customer service issues who knows. Yesterday I had the best experience with Jole over the phone. I really wanted to get my hands on the Mac x Pony collection, and he helped me do just that! Products were selling out fast, understandably. I thought I could hold off until pay day but apparently not a good idea to wait. Lol. Anyways, he not only sold me the last Star highlighter over the phone.. but he held everything else I wanted that they had until this coming Friday so I could get paid. & He also tracked down the rest of the pieces I wanted in a different state and they are holding the rest of items I want for me until Friday as well. I needed new eyeliner and because I love MAC's eyeshadows, I figured this would be my first stop. I always shop at Nordstroms for makeup so I decided to check out the actual MAC store instead. I looked online beforehand and MAC has about 5 different eyeliner pencils, and some liquid ones too, so I had a basic idea of what I wanted. The salesgirl asked right away if I needed help, which I do appreciate. She presented me with a few different options, however said they ran out of black for me to try, yet said they still had it available to sell, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I asked her for her professional opinion whether gray or black would look best with brown eyes and she said, "all colors look good with brown". THANKS. Good to know... At Nordstroms they apply it for you and give you helpful tips. This girl just handed me the pencil and did not give any pointers, or even at least say it looked good when I was done. Hell, she could have even lied and said it looked good. I wouldn't have even cared if she said it didn't look great either. Just say SOMETHING instead of staring blankly at me. And now let me say that I am not some old hag. I'm 28 years old and I love music (who doesn't?), but not when it's blaring to the point that I can't even hear her pointless words coming out of her mouth. I had to say "WHAT?!" way too many times. She wanted my info and asked if it was my first time there and I said, "Yes, I always go to Nordstroms"... then thought to myself, "Well, I definitely learned my lesson and will never ever go back to this store, but Nordstroms for MAC makeup." Before I state the negatives, let me just state the positives. Joel was great and very attentive and (eventually, though it still took a while, with lots of unexplained interruptions) he has a great make up look himself (the highlighters look great on him), but the woman (who conveniently was not wearing a name tag) who was supposed to help me actually DROPPED helping me for other women customers. I am 100 pds plus overweight but I look damn good in the face for 45 and she even said it too. However, the minute I told her it was by birthday and it was my special treat b/c I am poor and unemployed, she said, "Oh, you poor thing", and I said, "I was just sharing that, I do not want people to feel sorry for me." She was VERY catty and bitchy, not to mention that her make up looked a bit crappy, but the worst part was, even after she said she was going to help me after hearing that I was upset by telling her that her customer service sucked, she said, "I will send someone else over to you" and that took 15 minutes and then Joel came out, but he should not have to do her dirtywork. But her did and he helped, but he seemed sad and depressed. For spending 67.00 there, the last of my money, I truly wish I had been treated better, and I am angry about the experience. I will NEVER SUPPORT THIS MAC again and I am so incensed over the treatment that I am not sure I will go to ANY mac again. I usually only wear eye makeup. Since I am makeup challenged when it comes to anything other then eyes. Leah I have known for years. She has done my make up for my bridal boudoir that turned out stunning. I even had her do 5 bridesmaids, my mom, my oma, and my makeup for the most important day in my life. My wedding was an event that I still look at the photos amazed on how Leah seriously takes my breath away on her makeup job on us. She's all about making sure you look like you have makeup on but not having tons of it on. STUNNING!!! Today I went in and saw her at the store. I went here last Saturday, I had a great experience. I was planning on going by MAC store for some time. Usually I shop at department stores for makeup, but I did not want to anymore. I needed advice from a makeup artist. The store was closing, but I was still helped by Ivan who was very kind and very professional he made suggestion about different makeup products that were perfect for me. He taught me what is best for my skin and what I should stay away from. I am very thankful I have where to go get my makeup done for any occasion. Most of the reviews here are complaining about how the girls don't really help. They are so busy all the time, i go there once a week to buy new things and i always get greeted. If I need help there's this rare thing called FLAGGING down a staff member, i always flag one down, they help me, and we move on. I went in not planning on buying anything, I just wanted to look because I miss using MAC makeup. I decided to give it another try even though it's a bit out of my budget now and I had such an amazing experience! They were definitely playing some dope throwbacks and that got me excited and then Katie, with her amazeballs turquoise hair and killer eye make up approached me to see if I needed help and ended up doing my face. She put highlights and lip colors on me that I never thought I could pull off. We had a lot of fun and she was very knowledgable and personable. Also Anita was so sweet and fun as well, her presence and energy made the experience even better! There was also a guy in there who's name I didn't catch but he was so sweet and complimented the art Katie put on my face.
