Sephora is a well stocked beauty store! You want it? There's a great chance they've got it! I find this store to be delightfully uneventful, which is just the way I like it! If you want help there are people that are happy to do so, but they're not overbearing. My recent wants were simple - hair mask and my birthday gift! I was able to bee line it to the back of the store for the hair care products and make my way to the line. It was really busy (that's what I get for going to the mall on a Friday!), but they called more employees up and had all of the registers going. Service was friendly and I was able to get out in a reasonable period of time. read more

So I bought my sister a lip plumper. Too Faced Lip Injection. As soon as she applied she could feel the tingle it only took a few minutes to see a difference. She said it's not bad that it's tolerable. I noticed her lips plump up after five minutes Needles to say we are on our way back to Sephora to buy more... I would have done the survey online but I changed my email and the QR code doesn't work but I just wanted to give a shout out to the lady who helped me find a good foundation tone for my skin. Her name is Tracy, she was phenomenal. Had 10/10 customer service skills. She made me feel human. I haven't worn makeup in many years and she helped me find the right shade and even asked my friend for a look too, to make sure it was the right shade. She even gave me a sample of another color that also looked good on me too just to make sure I have the right shade. Seriously one of the best makeup artists out there. Super down to earth! Sephora is not what is used to be in regard to the beauty brand go to store destination. This store is dirty, has limited supplies and brands, I can only assume due to theft and other issues (per sale associate who told me this). Staff have little knowledge of products, we're pretty much standing around gossiping, dancing and sampling products themselves. I have spent significant amounts of money at Sephora over the years and had planned to spend a large amount this evening however left spending around $120 due the lack of helps support and underwhelming atmosphere of this store. I won't be back. I even asked an artist to sample me a top tier product for my face a light weight foundation that would have excellent skin products and out of all the lines she picked NARS and a shade that was literally nothing near my skin tone.. then she told me it was the lighting In the store. I'm leaving this review solely based on service. This location doesn't have any. I would rather drive an extra 15 minutes to Issaquah than come here again. I was looking for some recommendations on eyeliner and brow pencils and the lady I asked for help actually rolled her eyes at me. The staff here are excellent. I am a service dog user and a mother was encouraging her toddler towards my dog outside of the store. I thought if I turned into the store she would stop her child. She did not. One young woman blocked and another associate also made space and put themselves between us. They then checked in with me afterwards to see if I was ok. Wow. Just wow. My girlfriend and I went into the store this evening, hoping to get an entire set up of products to get her prepared for doing her own makeup for her wedding day. We were greeted warmly and introduced to a nice girl who assured us she would hook us up. She got my friend matched with a great foundation, told her to put it on herself and then said she had to go help another customer and "would be right back." Yeah, she never came back and stood nearby, busying herself preparing samples. She ended up NEVER coming back to check on us or continue advising us, just keeping herself busy with the samples. As we walked out, extremely disappointed that this store didn't want our money (likely upward of $600 with the amount of product my friend needed) the original girl who greeted us (presumably a manager) asked if anything worked out. My friend said, "So the only way to actually get assisted with our needs here is to make an appointment?" to which she stated that we could get a 45 minute session with the expectation that we buy a minimum of $50 in product. Um. Okay. They could have spent 15 minutes showing my friend a few tips and what to use to make her look amazing and she would have bought EVERYTHING. Bad bad bad service. I don't know what kind of training these poor girls get, but they have it ALL wrong. If you want to sell your product, you should treat each customer as if they're the most important one of the day and not walk away from them in the middle of a consult to help someone else. Sad. I'm not a makeup person. I've shopped at Sephora off and on when I have a specific need, and I'm part of the loyalty program mainly just for the annual birthday gift. The reason I found myself at this particular Sephora location (in the Southcenter mall) was because I was attending a wedding in the area and decided to take take advantage of their "full face makeover" service to get my makeup done for the wedding. The makeover is free with a $50 purchase. I booked an appointment online a few days in advance with no issues. All my appointment reminders told me to arrive 10 minutes early, which I did, only to be told that the appointment would start exactly at 1pm. A little annoying but not a big deal; I just wandered the mall for another 10 minutes. My makeover was done by Emma, who was amazing. She was really sweet and took the time to understand my needs. She didn't mind at all when I flat out explained that I just there to have my makeup done for the wedding (translation: I'm not here to buy a lot of products). She gave me recommendations on skin care, and patiently answered all my questions. As she went along, she constantly checked in to make sure that I was happy with what she was doing. When the initial lipstick that she used was too light, she didn't have a problem taking it off and trying another color. I loved the final look, which was polished and put together without being over the top. At the end of the session, Emma asked what I wanted to buy. I knew I needed to purchase $50 worth, but never felt any pressure to buy much more than that. I ended up getting lip gloss, lip stick, and pressed powder, and Emma helped me gather the products so I didn't have to find them myself in the store. A nice touch is that Emma was able to send me an email with all of the products she used, so that I can easily purchase the products I liked in the future. Overall it was an excellent experience. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely return to this Southcenter location and seek out Emma's help again. After both Mac locations were booked for the day. I was desperate for someone to do my eyes. I decided to give Sephora a call to see if they had time to fit me in. Not only did they fit me in, but they told me it was free! I usually have to spend at least $15 for eye application. They paired me with Maureen and I was blown away with her work. I waned a blue smokey eye and she did magic. I had all these pretty blue colors on eyes. She was very friendly and offered to give me on-going tips. I've never bought products from Sephora before because I'm pretty cheap and love the big department stores that offer gifts with purchase like at Lancome, Estee Lauder, or Clinique. However, I've been watching a lot of beauty channels on youtube where people highly recommend going to Sephora to buy their beauty products. I finally caved in and looked around at the store. First, I looked at the perfume section where a sale associate was super nice and friendly. She helped me find a scent that I like. Never did I feel pressured to buy anything. Later, she helped me look at eye liners. I told her what I wanted and she recommended a couple of different products. I was so impressed by how nice all the sales associates were. When I checked out, I signed up for a Sephora card. The lady who rang me up asked me for my birth date and since it recently passed, she said, "happy birthday." Then, she put in my bag the "birthday gift" that Sephora gives to their customers. Even though my birthday passed about 25 days, they still gave me a belated present. HONEST TRUE OPINION and EXPERIENCE! Spent over an hour at the store today. Got hellos when I walked in. But as I was looking at the various makeup brands NO Sales Person even acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. As a customer I felt judged because I noticed that they were doing nothing or only helping ladies who didn't know shit about makeup. When I asked them about stuff they just gave me a quick it's over there. What kind of training does management do there? When making my purchase, I wasn't able to use a e-gift card that my husband bought for me on Sephora.com I showed them the screenshot of the e-gift card and the moment they saw the 'cashstar' they immediately denied the e-gift card (They as in the manager Daniel and the cashier) Stating that it WAS NOT a real Sephora gift card and I should double check where the gift card was purchase. I explain that it was actually purchased on Sephora.com They explained the reason why they couldn't take this e-gift card or even attempt to run it through was because corporate said not to. Being that it was a fake e-gift card. (Already frustrated and embarrassed) I walked out of the store without making a purchase and called customer service. I explain the situation and customer service was able to verify that it was a REAL gift card and told me that if I was still interested in purchasing that he would stay on the phone and talk to the manager for me. Went back to the store, spoke to Daniel again. This time explaining that I have customer service on the line. He talked for a bit till he offered the phone back. I showed him how the e-gift card was purchased on Sephora.com and immediately after I showed him how it was purchased you could tell it clicked in his head. He ended up saying thank you for showing me this and apologize. I asked if my items were still at the cashwrap and if we can do this again. Yo, the workers at this Sephora location need to get their shit together. Never I have experienced such rude and negligent Sephora employees. My sister and I walked in today and the two workers at the entrance acknowledged our existence by eyeing us up and down but did not greet us and just keep talking to each other. Whatever I don't need someone saying hello to me every time I walk into a store, so it's not a big deal. However as my sister and I swatch some makeup and start grabbing things to buy, no one approaches us to offer us help or even a bag, which is customary at ever other Sephora I've been to. There were more employees than customers on the floor so it wasn't like they were busy. Most of them were just having personal conversation. The one of two times an employee even interacted with me was when she rudely said excuse me as she passed by me in an aisle. However they did do a good job of following us and watching what we had in our hands, so they have that skill down. Shout out to the blonde Asian girl for finally offering us a bag, when she realized we were there to buy makeup not steal it. We just felt really uncomfortable the whole time there. We didn't even want to browse their vast selection of brands and we are complete makeup nerds. We would have spent more if we didn't feel so discriminated against. This store is whack. I spend so much money at Sephora, mostly in this location. I have a Rouge card. So, once I decided to enjoy the privilege of this status and do the "full face makeover" or whatever it calls. Scheduled the service for Friday 4pm. I had big plans for a night out with my friends, so I wanted to do something special, bright and professional. I got there on time and we started with a short delay. Anyways. My artist was a big guy. His eye makeup was on point, so I was kinda expecting to get a nice makeup on my face too. Long story short, IT WAS A FREAKING MESS. Foundation's not covering the full face, it was just spots here and there. Eyebrows not the same!!!, it was randomly shaped objects. I have permanent tattoo on them. It was an easy task just to drow on the template. Lips are out of my natural shape, and not even. Eyeshadows on cheeks and everywhere. Everything he's done was like a joke. I looked like my 7 y.o. sister was practicing on me. And she could do a better job. I bought something, cause you have to make a purchase of 50$ to have this "free professional" makeover. I was embarrassed to walk to my car. Of course I washed it off as soon I got home. And I was terribly late for my event that night. I still feel mad about it, and I literally was crying on my way home. This is not ok, even for a "free" service. read more

I'm going to start this review with two sentences: 1. I have NEVER done my own makeup. I've only worn makeup twice my whole life because of formal occasions. 2. I do still want to buy Sephora products and have tonight since this horrible experience took place... It started yesterday on Dec. 3rd and I ventured out to the mall to buy last minute gifts for my boyfriend and to finally take the plunge of putting on makeup like a grown up. I walked into Sephora and was nicely greeted by a woman. How often do people actually get greeted these days? Well anyway I told her I was looking for an eyeliner so I could do the cat eye style (it works for me). She got on her walkie talkie and asked someone about it. Then walked away with no word to me. Uh... Excuse me? Is anyone going to help me? I stood there for 2 minutes thinking someone would help! I gave up and found the next employee. A shorter Asian woman with the most basic makeup I've ever seen on a Sephora employee (before I moved the one near my apartment looked like a circus). I told her I wanted eyeliner and she asked me if I wear makeup. I was honest and told her no. She scanned my face painfully slow for a solid minute. You could hear the clock ticking away the seconds. I'm not gonna lie: it made me feel incredibly self conscious. She grabbed the Sephora brand liquid eyeliner, smeared 3 thick lines on my hand and shoved it at me before walking away. Uh... Thanks? I attempted to apply it after I left but everyone (afterword of course) told me liquid eyeliner is a bitch to put on. Don't breathe. Don't move. Don't think. You'll still probably smudge it. That stuff is a nightmare to get off too! Waterproof is great but scrubbing should get rid of it! I returned it in less than an hour. The clerk didn't look surprised that I was returning it. (As a side note I purchased the Sephora glossy lipstick in Royal Wedding. It's not really red but it's nice. Oh, and the Sephora lip gloss in Rose Petal. I think I'm out of my lip gloss phase and it didn't do much to change the color of my already naturally pink lips. Not bad though.) 2 stars for awful service and eyeliner but I'm determined to shop smarter and avoid certain employees. read more

I had a good experience at this Sephora yesterday. I've been to the one @ University District in 2011, and the experience wasn't too memorable. I decided to try this one, so I got one of their 45 min complimentary makeup makeovers.. but the girl, Yasmin, took longer than 45 min (which is great!). She took her time, explained everything, and did a thorough job on my face. She made me look very pretty :) The other gals were very friendly and attentive. I am definitely coming back ! read more

MAUREEN IS THE BEST!!! I was in major need of help because I don't know how to do contouring and highlighting. I came in, and was browsing for 12 minutes and no one even attempted to help me. Then I flagged down this Asian gal, expressed my concerns, and she said she only had 5 minutes to help me. All she did was recommend some colors in the Sephora collection and left. First off: I was very open minded on what colors/brands/price was available and right for me. I just didn't know where to start, as I'm not huge on makeup. Maureen then came to the rescue! She is the sole reason why I'm giving this place five stars. She sat me down, did a color match on me and brought over 3 to 4 varieties of blushes, contour options, concealers, and highlighter for us to try on my skin. Most importantly: She SHOWED me how to contour and how to apply blush properly. I spent over $100 today, (about $60 on Maureen's recommendation, and the rest were little goodies I couldn't pass up) but I knew I was getting amazing products based on Maureen's recommendations. I even did some research on the products I got just now, and they're all highly recommended, proving that Maureen knows her stuff! Next time i come back to Sephora, I'm going to try and see if Maureen is working first! read more

I like this place, because one.. if you get the right associate... they can help with what you need and make you feel like that you are the only person in the store. They are so knowledgable about so much!!!! Mischa was REALLY helpful. She gave me samples of 4 fragrances, which I love! I've been a loyal Sephora customer for years and have VIB Rouge status. Last night I dropped over $700 on makeup and skincare and the cashier had the audacity to tell me I was going to be charged a .05 bag fee for the larger Sephora bag that would have fit all my newly purchased items. I was a little shocked that Sephora wouldn't provide an adequate bag for my purchased products after I've spent a small fortune. On principal I wasn't going to do that so Instead, she crammed all of my products into a bunch of tiny bags. NOT good business Sephora, shame on you. read more

This was my very first time in Sephora and I am makeup illiterate so I was very intimidated by all the items and brands. My sister asked a sales rep, Jennifer, for some help for me saying that I needed a color match and blah blah blah (No idea what it all meant). The sales rep took one look at me and asked a couple of questions (Pressed or Loose powder? Natural or 'It-Doesn't-Matter ingredients?). After giving her my answers, she asked to removed the makeup I had on the left side of my face and put the new makeup on. It was awesome! It was light weight and matched on the spot. She chose a shade that I never would've chosen b/c it was darker than what I thought was my match. She educated me on what to look for when choosing a shade and helped me find a finishing powder, how to apply and conserve the makeup. She talked about what brand is known for what if I ever needed something of the sort in the future. She even wrote down the names! Afterward, Jennifer cleaned up my face and reapplied the makeup to my entire face. It was so nice! I didn't have that oily feeling on my face even after several hrs of having it on, w/c was my problem w/ Bare Essentuals. We left w/ my new makeup & several FREE samples. Thanks Jennifer!! read more

I want to Thank Carrie and Daniel at this location for helping my friend and I find what we needed. I asked Carrie for help with eyebrow shadow and not only did she point out what to get but offered to put it on me to show me. I am not kidding....I loved how she shaped my brows and taught me how to do it. I could see how she changed the makeup l already had on my face. I am terrible with makeup and she was so informative and I could tell she knew what she was talking about and not full of bs. Now Daniel, what a sweetheart. This Sephora location is unimpressive due to the staff. I spend a lot of money at Sephora every year, I'm a rouge member and easily spend upwards of $1500 every year. The employees at this location are rude and follow you around like you're going to steal something. I love coming in and seeing what's new and swatching new products on my hand. I rarely leave Sephora without buying something. If I'm going to visit this location I won't do that anymore because they watch you like a hawk and make you feel uncomfortable. I've had to return a couple items this year as they did not work for me and I was unable to get them in sample size. One of them was recommended to me by an employee and it was awful (total wrong color for my skin tone, would only work on someone with a deep skin tone). Both returns I made the day after I bought them. Both staff members I returned to were SO rude. Very fake smile and talking to me like I was a child. I only come here if I need something since it's the closest to my house but will avoid this location if possible. read more

This Sephora offered curbside pick up and I always use it when companies offer it especially when I'm always with my 2 yr old because it's convenient and I don't have to haul him into the store if don't have to. Anyways, I used curbside pick up and when I got there, they had informed me that they weren't offering it that day due to the weather. Living in seattle where it rains half the year, it didn't make sense. It was raining but not hard enough where it made sense to stop something due to the weather. If I didn't need my order that day, I would have just canceled it. So I hauled myself and my 2 yr old into the mall and knew right away that I regretted it when he wanted to run around the mall. I forced him into Sephora to grab my order. I talked to the employee who helped me about how ridiculous it was that they stopped curbside pick up due to the weather and he said "we don't usually do it but our umbrella broke" uh first of all, why do you only have one and second of all, you are located in a mall full of stores that sell umbrellas!!! I was baffled. Like common sense people! I grabbed my order and my 2 yr old who has now thrown a tantrum because we were leaving. I literally had to fight him into his car seat.
