Do not trust their 2-day refund policy. Seems like a shady business taking advantage of a community. Attempted to make a return multiple times within the return window and was informed the cashiers were "in training and don't know how to do refunds" and that "you have to make returns when the manager is in." Despite driving to the store multiple times to make a return and the cashiers documenting the entire situation, the manager (Jenny) conveniently wasn't "in" until after the refund window had passed. At which point she refused to honor her employees word or remedy the situation beyond stating that I as a "customer should have known its my responsibility to force the cashiers to call the manager to explain how to do a return." read more

Really rude manager. That woman yelled at my friend for taking photos when trying a wig, and yelled at her employee too. She said : DON'T TAKE PHOTOS, PERIOD. YOU CAN TAKE PHOTOS AFTER YOU PAY. She actually grabbed the wigs that me and my friend is trying and put them back, even her employee was trying to stop her and tell her what's going on. Does not look anything like in the photos but i had a good experience after looking for hair developer near me i checked a few locations and Noone had it but i really didn't want to drive further so i checked this location out and found it for a really good price! It was $3.49 when other places further from my house were selling $4 and up so i was over all happy with my purchase at this store. The only thing i would recommend is to lock your car doors and be aware of your surroundings i went in at a busier time of day but the stores front doors looked as if it had recently been broken into and was boarded up with wood and the location itself can be a bit sketchy if you aren't aware of your surroundings. read more

Me and my daughter visited this business on 3/25/23 because my daughter wanted to know if they had a hair serum she'd seen online. We walked in and two employees in the front at the counter (an older man and woman) completely ignored us. They didn't even make eye contact or greet us. We walked up to the counter directly in front of the man, waited for about a minute, and he acted like we weren't even there. At that point, I grabbed my daughter and we walked out. I needed to purchase a couple of items to complete a new braided hairstyle I was working on (I'm going to an event tonight). I was coming from Kent and had to choose between the two places that were still open. (It was about 7:42) I rushed to Beauty Direct and arrived at 7:53. The door was locked and the woman inside was fiddling with the register. She looked at me and said "were closed" I showed her the digital display on my phone. 7:53. She kind of ignored me for the next 10 seconds then took her precious time coming to unlock the door. As she let me in she goes "What do you want" I replied "To buy something, obviously?" I asked where the tools I needed were located and without looking at me she pointed to a huge wall full of stuff and said "over there." She had such a sh*tty attitude just because she couldn't slip out of work early. Take your money to Queen Beauty Supply (where I typically go) in Renton, only 10 mins away or less where you can expect to be treated kindly, the staff is very helpful and much more patient. read more

Racist 100%. I came in to look for some clip in extensions and while doing so the manager told me "that hair isn't for OUR people" then continued to say "OUR hair is soft and silky. THEIR hair is different"... I didn't know how this related to the color of hair extension I needed? But she continued to be rude about simply wanting a cheaper brand of extensions and after I did not want to purchase the one she recommended BC it didn't match she scoffed at me and didn't assist me the rest of my visit. After purchasing the extensions I realized I got too many and went in to return the other pack and she said "you used it" and I was like... I got out of here three minutes ago. If you love lashes like I do, this place is LASH HEAVEN!!!!!! They have a huge selection of falsies in all different lengths, thickness and styles!! And they also carry LA Girl cosmetics. I usually come here for strictly lash business but they do have hair products there also. Reasonable prices, large selection of lashes and the staff are always so friendly. Fantastic experience. I went into this store recently and was helped by a very knowledgable person. There was no pressure to buy from the woman who assisted me. With her help, I purchased a reasonably priced human hair wig which I've worn everyday since. I am amazed at the naturally soft texture this wig still has after wearing it so much and it hasn't matted up either. Also, it brushes out with ease with no shedding! I've been to almost every wig shop in Seattle and Los Angeles and this shop is at the top of my list in every category. If I could give them -10 stars I would. Seriously, one of the worst experiences ever. I'm a very chill person and very even keel, but I seriously almost lost my cool. I purchased hair for a particular twist style and the next day got to get my hair done only to find out that it couldn't be done with the hair that I purchased. I called the shop to let them know about what had happened and also to let them know that I'd be out of town for a few days for work and wouldn't be able to bring it in within the two days. They said it would be okay. I bring the hair in 5 days later with the receipt and a picture of the kind of hair that they want. They don't have the hair, so I asked for a refund since they don't have the hair that I need and also since I called the day after I purchased it and she ( the manager) said that there is no way that they could give me a refund. Even after I called and told her my situation and them not having the hair that I needed. She was so incredibly rude and not flexible at all and even left in the middle of me explaining. At first I was in shock and disbelief that she did that and she explained that she's busy and had work to do. Needless to say- I'll be selling the hair online or elsewhere and will never give that store my business again. read more

I was one of their stores first customers when she first opened. Her prices were reasonable and she was kind and helpful. Now as with all Asian owned beauty supply stores, her customer service skills went out the window and her prices have nearly tripled since first opening. Today will be my last trip to the store. The owner is rude and ignores customers as if we need her and not the other way around. She disappeared from the counter and I waited and waited for her to help me because I was interested in some products that she keeps locked away but she never returned. I left my basket on the counter and walked out after waiting a substantial amount of time for her to return , there were no other customers to be helped but I suppose she thinks it's beneath her to assist customers. Please black women do not tolerate this type of treatment from these Asian shop owners who want our money but gives awful service. I entered in very curious about what hair they were stocking. I have done extensions for others and myself for about seven years, so I'm no newb to the hair scene :). Now, I'm not to sure about their selection of cosmetics not because they don't have them, just because I was focused in my personal search. Customer Service: When I came in, I was greeted right away. I didn't catch the associate's name, but she was really helpful! She told me about their promos going on-but not a pitch, so it was great. She was Informative about their products, not fake, not pushy, and offered to find out if I could order a color they didn't have in stock Atmosphere: was super comfortable walking around the store. I'm not sure about other customers but I didn't get that weird follow you around vibe sometimes people feel in beauty supply stores. I honestly was really happy with the space given and the information provided. As far as the space itself, I was really happy- clean, super well lit, displays were all very organized and accessible to view and touch. (pretty important to feel the hair - so that was great!) Pricing: So far, their prices seem good. I'll update after my price comparison if I feel differently. General: I guess my only things i would say on the other side were i wish that they had an actual website. It would really be an assey. And i wish they carried a bit more for redheads-but I can't really complain too much since it's not a huge seller for stores I guess. Can't expect someone to carry everything- and that's when the possibility of special orders were discussed. Along with extensions and hair supply they have sunglasses, makeup, jewelry, hair accessories. .pretty much everything you'd need for a makeover or refresher of your look. I go there for braiding hair for crotchet braids and the selection is very diverse! I went in a few days ago to check out the product they had and I was more than happy with their selection of human hair and synthetic wigs. I don't like being pressured to buy, and I definitely like to weigh all of my options, and thankfully, the (extremely knowledgeable!) employee put up with all of my requests. No matter how many different colors I wanted, she was more than happy to comply and help me out with whatever I needed. When I needed to leave for about an hour, she happily held the wigs I was looking for so I could come back and look at them. I love to go here for LA girl cosmetics. They have a great variety and things are always in stock. I have also bought lashes here. Mostly individuals because they carry the thick style in three different lengths. I have bought clip in extensions from here multiple times (due to my ever changing hair) they carry high quality real and remy hair. I am always pleased with my purchases. read more
