I visited this location yesterday for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I was assisted immediately upon entering the store. I described the product I was looking for and the sales associate immediately understood what I needed. I LOVE mac products and always use them. The last time I stopped in to buy my usual foundation though, I had a very negative experience. While checking out (paying with cash), I remembered that I had a mac gift card with me! So, I politely asked the woman helping me at the counter to please return and re process the order using the gift card. She refused, saying "Just use it next time." And proceeded to ignore me and answer a phone call. Ps. The store was completely empty except for me, so she had plenty of time to redo my transaction. read more

This MAC store is awesome. It has a huge collection of make up and some very helpful people like Tiffany, who make the task of looking for perfect make up less overwhelming. I really enjoyed practicing foundation application using my new foundation brush and found Tiffany's tips for a perfect foundation application extremely helpful. Not a fan of Mac stores because of the customer service from previous stores but this one was an exception! I went in to return an item I was not happy with and it was a simple transaction that did not come with the "eww why are you returning this?" Look. :) the ladies were welcoming and friendly! The girl who did my return was not sure how to do an exchange because my item was purchased at another store but Haley was more than happy to guide her through it. Not sure if she is a manager but she should be! She is patient and knows her stuff! Also, Her make up was flawless! During my transaction she even commented on my brows! :) she asked me what I used! I'll start by saying that I am in no way a makeup guru and I am always 100% intimidated even walking by makeup counters. I stopped in today along with my mom, sister in law, fiancé, and brother. We arrived looking for a specific lipstick and left with a plethora of knowledge and hilarious memories. BRITANYA(spelling??) IS AMAZING. Sergio D is an amazing make up artist and he single-handedly made my visit to Stoneridge Mall MAC a 5 star experience. I told him what I was looking for and he made my face up beautifully. He showed me new products that I wasn't familiar with but that ultimately were a better fit for my skin type. I was really appreciative of that. He didn't make me look like a drag queen when he was done - I already know how to do that. I was just so excited to finally find a color of foundation that worked with my face. I never use blush, but he put on a color that actually gave me that "fresh faced" look I had been longing for. (I'm almost 50 yrs old and so there is no faking it with my complexion, mkay?) The clincher was the lip color. He put together 3 products that gave me that perfect neutral yet lush JLo lip color. I couldn't stop smiling! Thank you Sergio, you are amazing!!!! xoxoxo Here are the reasons why my overall experience isn't 5 stars but only 4. The line was very long to check out (I was asked to step out of line and had to stand in it twice b/c my order was being filled & took a while) and when I finally got to the register they put in mascara, that I didn't want and wasn't on my list, and somehow left off the Viva Glam I wanted, so I couldn't do my own JLo lips (noooo!!!). They were also out of both the pressed and loose powder I wanted, my main reason for going down to Stoneridge in the first place. I now have to go back and pick up 3 items that weren't available and return one. I know, #firstworldproblems, but I wish I could have spared a second trip down there. The Fantasy of Flowers event was absolute insanity but it was fabulous insanity. The hostesses who set you up at a station were prompt and courteous. I could tell they were working their butts off. But when you are spending upwards of $400 on a makeup purchase, you want it to be as flawless as the make up artist that did your face in the first place. read more

She is super bubbly, sweet, helpful and clearly passionate about makeup. I asked her tons of questions about various products and never once did she push me to make a purchase. The employees here are so nice! I'm only a 13 year old but the employees treated my mom so well. They asked her what she would like and if she'd like to buy a lip liner with her lipstick. I even heard one of the employees helping another customer and I like how she recommended her preference of lipstick instead of just completely ignoring the customer choice.They are always smiling and have an upbeat attitude. They also find a way to get to every customer even if the store is very crowded. I've heard of a lot of bad reviews about Mac employees, but I think it's probably location. If you're around this area and looking for makeup and some helpful employees, then you should most definitely visit this Mac. read more

Every time, every single time. This mall is super close by me so I don't mind the trip, but I need to stop coming here. All I wanted was another eyeliner because mine broke. Go in there with the broken eyeliner as an example and I keep asking these two girls were it is and they just look at me and keep talking. You are getting paid to at least tell me where the merchandise is. You don't have to say hi, which they didn't. Fine. But at least direct me to what I came for. I got my makeup done for my birthday by a make-up artist named Rob. I LOVED MY MAKE-UP!!!! I do not wear a lot of make-up and he took the time and listened to all my concerns and gave me EXACTLY what I wanted. Every time he applied something to my face he gave me the opportunity to look at it so I could decide what was a good look for me. He told me about every product that he used on my face and explained what I would need to get in order to achieve this look on my own. I really appreciated him. I bought a bunch of eyebrow pencils from this location. One of them was completely empty inside the pencil. I went to exchange it for one that actually had makeup in it. When I tried to swap it out the sales clerk informed me I owed .55 cents. I realize it's only pennies but you sold me a bad product and I had to come back here and now you want to charge me more? I have never had this happen before. If I buy something on sale in the wrong size and go to exchange it for the right size I wouldn't be charged more if it was no longer on sale. It should be an even exchange. I will keep shopping at Nordstrom where this would have never been an issue. read more

I stopped by here after taking an appointment for a trial and I told them I will buy the cosmetics as well. They informed that the artist will be distracted with other things. And I was fine with it, I understand that. But this artist I got did a bad job. She was always in rush to get me out of there. She was not even saying sorry when she is going to help other customers for 40 mins or something and i was just sitting there with half make up on. I love coming here but only when you get the right person otherwise some of this girls are extremely Catty I went to purchase an eyeshadow quad and someone was already helping me when another girl by the name soya with ombré blond ish brown hair asked if I needed help so I told her what I needed since the other girl was taking too long she was not knowledgable at all dint even know the names of their permanent eye shadows idk why she works there if she can't answer any questions I told her I rather get help from a permanent artist then a freelancer because they would know all the answer to my questions she rolled her eyes at me and laughed so I asked her "why are you laughing what's so funny?? If a customer asks you to get a permanent artist to help them because u are not knowledgable enough you think that's funny? That's extremely rude! " she replied and just said "because it's funny! " and laughed while she said it and then rolled her eyes again and walked away this girl was extremely nasty it was the worst customer service ever experience to laugh at your customer!!! Don't laugh at someone because you lack knowledge if I would been rude I when I asked for someone else I wouldn't be too upset but I wasn't she clearly got offended but don't be nasty because you don't learn your product that's your job not mine ! Over all if you come here just ask for Haley or Ashley they are the best!!! Went here looking for a new lip color ended up with much more.... Kenneth helped me and he was so knowledgable and so nice I felt like I was getting helped by my best friend... Came in on a Friday and got color matched; girl doing my makeup did an amazing job and even got me to buy $60 dollars worth of stuff. However a week later noticed there was a double charge on my card same day different amount?!? Girl swiped my card twice $ bought someone else something on me.. Called store manager & after research discovered signed with two different names... Went back to the store and had to wait an hour just to get refunded... Go to nordstroms or Macy's ... This store is the worst ... Wish MAC products were sold at ultra or sephora... Way better customer service read more

I give this store a one star for the simple reason that customer service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. My very first time I went into the store with 2 of my other friends who love their products and who also recommended them to me. It was Super Bowl Sunday so it wasn't very busy. I was looking for a certain shade of red lipstick and this employee(I don't know her name but she was a tall blond) comes up to me and I thought she was going to help me but she stood right in my way! I said hello to her and I told her what I was looking for. She did not give me any recommendations, did not point me in the right direction, and continued to do what she did (which was wipe each lipstick color on a paper towel roll which she started once she saw me over there). I literally had to reach around her because her body was blocking where I was. She did not make eye contact with me and I found one I liked so I asked if I could bring it to the other side of the store (which was where my friends were). We all walked back to the same spot I was at with the employee. My friends started talking to her about what I was looking for(they know makeup better than I) and still we gotten nowhere. We ended up leaving empty handed and my friend made a comment to me and said "she was not helpful at all. Usually they try to help you find what you want" and at that moment I realized that at every other makeup store how amazing the employees are (like at sephora, NYX, ulta). It wasn't even close to what I'm used to receiving. I will NOT be returning to this location because of the rude employee and the service we received. read more

It seems whenever I go to a MAC macy's they are rude, have no idea what they are talking about or I'm a bother to them. At the MAC store(not macys) at stonridge I love the girls! Of course it's crowded because hello, it's a makeup store, girls love makeup! If one girl is busy she'll say I'll be right there, I say thank you and "play makeup". I'm a patient and understanding person; I know they're busy and helping others so I don't get an attitude like other girls I observe. When an artist comes and helps me,I explain what I think I need, or the artist recommends the actual products I need. They know best, I'm still learning and learning through them. :) They take the time to explain in detail. One artist I like, is a tall Hispanic girl, everything she recommends makes my daily application so much easier. :) I also love their events! One I attended was based on looks around the world; three looks to be exact. London, japan,and LA. I loved learning them and their explanation was such in detail, and they mentioned how I could modify for myself and others too. I love their helpfulness and attention to detail. They opened a MAC in macys in Tracy. Tried it and FAIL! I asked for my mineral powder and she said that color didn't exist and gave me a color that she thought would work. She said "I'll ring you up, and I have to go back so the other artist can fix my makeup." I thought I'm sorry to bother you. :( I called MAC stonridge about the color of my powder and they said all MACs carry that color, but unfortunately I have to return to a macys MAC. :( well, I tried and I guess I'll make the drive to Pleasanton to the MAC store where they know what they're talking about. :) read more

I honestly rarely have a good experience at any MAC store but this one takes the cake!! First of all I never get greeted when I step in, it takes forever to get help and MOST employees here think they're too good for anything. I look around minding my own business and usually am the one asking for someone to help me. When I finally get someone I ask my questions, get a demonstration and they stop to go on and help someone else. Today I had a return and was told they couldn't do it because the register would r pull up my receipt not even a exchange or store credit was offered. My back to Mac was not accepted either it falls under the guidelines but I guess just my luck right. I love MAC the cosmetics themselves are gorgeous but I think I'll just take my chances and start ordering online because I never leave without feeling like I wasted my time stepping in there. I am usually very timid about make up and was finally ready when I met Sanna. It was her first day at the MAC cosmetics at Stoneridge. She was very careful about color selection and not overwhelming me with tons of products. I felt very comfortable with her abilities and was grateful for her help in something I know very little about. I went back the next day to see her but she was off. Her co worker Haley was also able to help me find the finishing spray in the travel size bottle. The staff was beautiful and friendly. Thank you for all your patience and helpfulness. read more

Worst place ever to get your makeup done. I went here for my wedding day...let me say this again...my wedding day to get my makeup done. It was a darker lady...probably first day doing makeup since they were all surprised she was on the floor. Which from the start didn't give me a whole lot of "she knows what she's doing". Not only did she give me bright pink eyeshadow on my kids when I asked her for light pink and glitter. But when I asked for eyelashes she said my eyes weren't made for lashes and took them off. My eyeliner was all crooked. And don't get me started on the wings. It was so horrible my aunt had to get me an appointment at Sephora last minute so that I can get redone. Who were all quick to fit me in. The woman who did my makeup was even called in an hour early to work to do it. I was even I was an hour late to my wedding. Worst experience ever. Killed my entire morning. I feel like crying again now that I write this review. But most def go to Sephora instead. read more

Every time went here is no enough artist can help. Although the artist today is nice and kind hearted, it's took me almost 90% of my anticipated time spent in the mall, waiting so long to just to find a proper eyebrow fix. She let a new here to clean my eyebrow and help me choose the color but the new artist seems out of practice, so my finish looking was like two strip of sticky tape. I'm ok with her cause everyone need experiences and may be she's not familiar with ppl who has fine rare eyebrows or too nervous to help. Then she asked the skillful artist to help. She removed and clean my eyebrows and redid it, looks much better. BUT, what I'm unpleasant is the whole thing took me more than AN HOUR. She's looking around and trying to keep all of the customers at the same time, let me wait a few moment then came back drawing, and wait and came back... for several turns in between customers. I felt I spend too much time and were trying to leave a couple of times but she's always back when I were trying to go. At that time, I were just want to leave as soon as possible because I still want go other stores to take a look, but I couldn't because customers kept coming and she's kept helping around all of them without finishing my eyebrows. I love MAC and I could have more passion for trying other things such as a new lipstick, primer, and what I really want to have is a good highlighter or bronze, but I lost my all my interest. The worst thing is the color of the product was not in stock, so I just got the brush cleanser and my cousin got a lipstick. I know there's lack of staff at the time and it's very nice that someone want to help redo the make up of my eyebrows. But I'm not a picky person, I just want an suitable color to fix my eyebrow, isn't is simple? Why not finish one customer who's coming first as quick as you can, then go for another, just like the way you waiting in line at a restaurant. read more

Went in for a concealer, asked the sales associate to color match me. She proceeded to get a concealer but didn't ask what formula I would prefer or anything. She then places some cream concealer, which creases like a motherfuck'r on me, onto a little dish, hands me a brush and mirror and proceeds to "instruct" me on concealer application processes, which is not what I came here for. Then, unsatisfied with my method of application, proceeds to snatch the brush from my hand and do it for me. I was super irritated at this point. Her method was to draw a freak'n V of concealer under my eyes "...because what you want to do is highlight your under-eye..." !!! Are you freak'n serious!?!? I'm not posting on Instagram you idiot! I'm going to work for christ sake! Further, I am well aware of how to expertly apply my makeup and don't need for MAC 'artists' to instruct me. Just sell the damn product I asked for, jackass! read more

Let me start by saying I love MAC cosmetics and I will continue to buy the products. But not from Mac. I will always go to Nordstrom (Or I believe Macy's also now carry's the line). I am a 46 year old executive and have two teen daughters. We use a lot of Mac. Sometimes I buy from Nordstrom, sometimes from Mac. I just bought over $400 worth of product. I went back two days later to swap out a color I bought, but learned when I got home I already had, for a color I didn't have. The product had not been used/opened. I didn't have the receipt (it was at home, I have it now). I did have the credit card I used to make the purchase. Nordstrom would have made this swap for me without a question. Mac would not. I will not buy product directly from Mac in the future. I am taking my 66 year old Mom for a make over and to buy new make up next week. We will go to Norstrom. I think they have make up artists that are better at choosing products and colors suitable for a more professional/mature client, too, so that's another reason to go there and not the Mac store. read more
