Visited MAC to find some lipsticks that I intended to give to a couple of teachers that I coach who are always commenting on my lip color choices. Even though Christmas was only a week away, the store wasn't busy and so it was the ideal time for Sam ( the lovely associate who helped me) and I to be intentional about the items I was choosing. I expressed the purpose of the purchase and gave her some insight into each of the recipients and shared how I wanted to choose shades with names that matched their temperaments or roles. For an one educator whose son is both autistic and has Down syndrome we chose Heroine - a beautiful shade of purple, her favorite color. For another whose tech obsessed we chose a deep shade of purple called Cyber. For another who has a big personality we chose " Flat out fabulous" and another who always leave work late we chose " werk werk werk". Marilyn at M.A.C. was wonderful! I came in to look for a good foundation and she took the time to find and make the best look for me! I've been having a hard time finding the right foundation and makeup for me. I work in a field where I have to be in front of people all the time. Having great makeup on makes such a big difference in my interaction with my customers. I came in during a Saturday and Marilyn greeted me right away. Her makeup looked amazing! I've been here a couple of times but my most recent visit warrants a reviews fo' sho! So it's a Monday evening and my mother and I walk in to kill some time before her surprise birthday party. When we get there it was like one or two other people in there which is rare because MAC is always crowded. So we got all excited and got the attention of one of the two ladies working that evening and her name was Daniella. Daniella was super sweet from start to finish. Truly a doll like she was extremely helpful and very attentive. It started to get crowded and everytime she had to step away to help someone else or ring someone up she always returned with an apology. Idk why MAC would ever schedule just 2 employees on any day but they made it work. She ended up giving my mom a full face makeover once she overheard it was her birthday. That was awesome and the end result was absolutely beautiful. She did the same for me and I loved it. Literally went in there for one or two items and ended up walking out with about 6-7 items between my mom and I and I spent over $140 lol so not them plan but she did her job so well. Now the thing with MAC and getting your make up done here is watching them glam you up and having the expectation that if you buy everything they used then you'll be able to recreate what they've done. Lmao I'm sorry but I hope everyone knows it doesn't work that way because these trained make up artists know all they tricks and they do this everyday. Daniella did mention that for $90, you can schedule a 1 on 1 make up class with them so they can teach you step by step how to do make up for 90 minutes. After the class you get 20% off on MAC products for an entire month. I'm definitely going to look into this. This was around 6-630 they were booked for today, which is understandable because of the holiday season. Then I went to the mac in Macy's who also told me they stopped taking appointments and wouldn't be able to help me. Even tho there were artist sitting around not doing a damn thing and they didn't seem packed or busy. At this point I think my night is ruined. Went into nordstroms and was told no again .. By this time it was 745p. I was depressed and hopeless but still decided to try the Mac location on the upper level of the mall. They're always crazy busy in there so I thought I was going to be told no, especially because of how late it was. 2. I spoke to the manager, I believe is name was Alfonzo. AMAZING! I told him it was an emergency, he checked for me and even though they don't usually take makeovers that late he was able to help me. Great management and customer service all around. And honey! His face was beatttttt okayyyy. 3. Make up artist Infinity did my make up and it was amazing !! I came last minute and she still did an amazing job and did not cut corners!! The staff really made my night. They could've told me no and slacked off (I was expecting a average makeover but it was amazing) especially because of the time .. But they helped me and provided an amazing service... I'm so done with packed crazy Sephora who doesn't even listen to what you want done... This Mac location is def my new spot !!!! 4. By far the best Mac store in the area. I go at least once a month to restock essentials for my kit. Everyone is not only extremely helpful and knowledgeable but also extraordinarily talented. I want to personally thank Nikita, I saw on their Instagram they were offering an in store holiday glam class. As a working makeup artist myself, I jump at opportunity's like this. Were in a business of forever learning and improving and it's a wonderful thing. Nikita could not have been more amazing. I could see her being a Mac trainer in the future, she was that talented and knowledgeable . It was such a great morning learning about new and old products and different ways of using them. This is not my preferred MAC location for various reasons.. The top reason being the service. They used to have a great staff of makeup artists that would answer any and all of your questions as well as actually demonstrate how to use their new releases. The new staff is usually just sitting around, chatting, and unwilling to help. Last night, however, I was lucky and had an MUA that was more than willing to assist. The one thing I love about this location is the layout. The new releases are front and center and eye makeup is with eye makeup, unlike some locations where eyes are with cheeks. I do try to stop by here when I'm in Roosevelt Field if I need some goodies or refills. read more

** Best Makeover Ever By MakeUp Artist Marissa ** I recently came to MAC and had my makeup done for an event. I was nervous at first, as I had never had my makeup done professionally before. I walked in and was greeted by Marissa, my make up artist, who was very sweet, and made me feel very comfortable. She asked me what kind of look I was going for, asked me questions about my skin and she made suggestions on products that we should use based on my answers. I've been using MAC cosmetics for about ten years now. I decided to go back yesterday because I had just about reached the bottom of my blushes. On the way over I thought about asking if they have a foundation that would cover the "sun spots" that have been popping up the last few years (my present foundation was just not covering them). When I arrived Andrea approached me to see if she could help. She was AWESOME. ----When I first started using MAC I was intimidated that I would be pushed to purchase things I didn't want, but thankfully that never happened. Andrea was no different. She got my blush refills (I actually named the three different blushes and asked her to let me know if these shades were still good for my skin. She said "Oh, I know those shades and they absolutely are still good for your coloring!") I then discussed my "sun spot" issue; she listened, looked carefully at my skin (after asking me if it was normal, dry, oily, or combination) and applied a foundation with a brush that was a PERFECT color match and covered my sun spots. How do I give NEGATIVE stars? I've always loved using MAC products, and when I came to this MAC location to find my favorite eyeliner, I was very disappointed. In fact, I was so pissed off that I have not bought one single MAC product since the incident (which was a good 2-3 years ago). I went in, and you feel as if you've walked into Chanel - haughty, snobby, unfriendly air. The "you can't afford it" attitude is all over that I am almost suffocating in it, even though I surely can afford it!!! I mean, HS students can afford MAC, geez. I waited a GOOD 20 minutes in front of the eyeliner counter, where there were at least 2-3 salespeople walked past me and totally ignored me. It must be 'cause I was in a t-shirt and shorts. Finally, with my temper rising, I flagged down a woman, who gave me a "I have no time for you" look and asked her for a specific color, to which she replied "We've discontinued that" and walked away, without even trying to recommend something else. I have never been treated as rudely in my life, and I made sure MAC headquarters heard me. I wrote a scathing letter about how disgusting their employees at MAC in the Roosevelt Field mall was, and they sent a letter back apologizing, along with a cheap tube of mascara. I came in with my Back-to-MAC items. The stores was empty with the exception on one other customer and myself and 5 employees who all seemed too busy chatting to pay attention to anyone (this was early morning on a Saturday) The one girl that was answering questions for the other customer also asked what i needed help with, when i told her it was B2MAC suddenly she became indifferent. She asked what I wanted and I told her a specific name of a standard always available eye shadow, according to her (after checking on the shelf) they didn't have anymore, she didn't didn't even bother to look in the stock room. Then she kept insisting that I buy something in addition to what I was getting. I really do not understand why every time an employee from MAC hears that you have Back to MAC they treat you so rudely and suddenly the amount of effort and energy drops!, You guys know that this is a perk your company offers! Just help the customer quickly and move on! Not sure why they make it so uncomfortable for the customers. The employee ended up taking a whole lot of time to look around, then decided that she wants to go back to helping the other customer then took her time getting back to me about a different eye shadow option ( I asked for something as close in color as possible to the one I was originally looking for) and it turned out to be totally different then what I wanted. I went to both the MAC inside the mall & inside of Macys. I went to the one in macys first since I entered the mall through Macys. There was a lot of customers trying to get lipsticks and in my coat, none of the sales women even looked at me. Hell, they looked happy when I walked away. I then went to the MAC Store in the mall minus my old coat, looking like the girly girl I truly am *sarcasm*. They helped me find the lipsticks I wanted, except for one. I also should have been more careful because the sales girl gave me a color I didnt want buying (I had a list of colors on my phone) but it was still a great shade. The fault really was on my part. I went to Mac in RF hoping to pick up lipstick, it was incredibly crowded so I went to the Mac counter in Macy's. A young man walked in my direction to help me but saw a white woman approach, and made an painfully obvious bee line to her. So I tried on the lipstick I wanted, unassisted. Then stood around and waited for someone to help me. I had to finally say, "how long do I have to stand here to get help." So the same man who had dismissed his attempt to help me for the other woman and afterwards continued to avoid assisting, though in very close proximity to me, finally said "oh I thought you were being helped" I kindly said, "No you didn't" and I calmly proceeded to inform him of his earlier obvious actions.Needless to say, I didn't get my lipstick. Just hung up with Tuttle mall Location, spoke with charie/shar? Requested I have eyelashes applied with some eye make up for this evening. She told me besides the eyelashes there is a minimum 3 item purchase. Ive been doing this for almost 10 yrs now, even told her I have about 15 empty eyelash cases to return and never had a minimum of 3 items required. Charie/shar stated it was a new policy enforced this year throughout all the stores, clearly not, as I called another location and it was a minimum $30 purchase in which cost of eyelashes are included in that grand total. Had an Amazing experience with Shirley, the manager at MAC Roosevelt Field!!! Her work, level of service, and professionalism are amazing. My sister and I went to get our makeup done at this location, and we were blown away by the results. Shirley really listened to what we wanted and guided us through the whole experience. She made sure we were comfortable with what she was applying and helped us make specific makeup decisions along the way....without any kind of pressure! She catered to us, was very personable, and KNOWS her products. I have a history of MAC employees clearly ignoring me. Mostly, I am not covered in makeup when I go shopping but some how every MAC location I have visited employs MUA's who have their head's up their arse at all times! BUT it changed 2 weeks ago at Macy's MAC location at Roosevelt field mall. I was with a friend and we were both acknowledged and helped. I ended up buying more than what I originally planned to buy, because the MUA was super duper nice to us. She answered our questions, helped us check and match shades of products we were interested in. We couldn't find her name but she looked a lot like Nicki minaj (resemblance, may not seem so to everyone). If anyone knows her name please let me know. I have to say that the idea of going to get my make up done at a MAC store was very intimidating to me. Everyone I know who wears make lays it on real heavy and I was hoping I didn't leave looking over done! Let me say I was pleasantly surprised! My friend and I purchased the make up service for $60 (also comes with a free mascara) where they do your make up in the store. As someone who only wears eyeliner and mascara I didn't really know what to expect, but the makeup artist, Andrea, was extremely knowledgable and helpful. I told her I was going to a work related party and I just wanted my make up to look a touch above normal, not too crazy because I did have to see all these people the next day with just eyeliner. Overall I loved my final look, very natural looking, and my advice to anyone making an appointment here is to make sure you are very vocal about what you like and what you don't like. The first time she put a cat eye on it was very exaggerated and too much for me so I kept on having to ask if we could take it down a notch. And what makes a great makeup artist is that they listen to their client no matter who the client is. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was at the beginning on the process my friend and I were unsure what was going on/ who was doing our make up because we had different employees come up to us to ask us questions, but then we would see them go behind the register and start ringing people up and it wasn't clear if our appointment would start on time or not. Also when we arrived our appointment was for two people, but then my friend heard one of the employees say "there's two of them?" So that made us a little weary before the appointment even started. I just have to share my experience today. I live in Georgia and my mom is in Long Island and I wanted to get her something to make her feel special. Since she loves MAC, I knew I wanted to get her some cosmetics. I couldn't select the perfect options for her online so I wanted to get her a gift card so she can pick her fav colors. I called the store and spoke with Eric over the phone and he was super helpful and professional. The customer service at Mac stores is usually horrible, but that wasn't the case here. We were assisted by Carrie who was incredibly warm and sweet and helpful. She didn't even object when we told her we were there to back to Mac... usually you are met with some opposition or sales associates who lie to you because they don't want to ruin their sales numbers. Carrie was a professional every step of the way. This is someone who clearly enjoys her job and loves helping people; she demonstrates exemplary customer service and product knowledge. For the most part I stopped shopping at Mac a while ago but if I do need something; I'll be sure to return to this location. read more

Coming into MAC is never a good experience. Almost every girl in there feels like they're the sugar honey iced tea. Well, at least all the MACs in Roosevelt Field Mall. Anywhere else I go, I am welcomed and encouraged to learn about makeup. I specifically went into the MAC Macy's location in RF. I just stood there waiting for help for 10 minutes until I finally had to go up to someone. The girl kept rushing me, she didn't answer any of my questions. She was like "yes yes that's good trust me" didn't even offer to apply it on my skin or test my skin tone. It wasn't until another associate decided to help me, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't of bought a single thing. I always have a horrible experience at the MAC store in Macys. I know what I want all I need is for you to get it charge me and I pay. But instead I wait 30 min to give up and go to the wonderful MAC STORE upstairs. OK yes you had a bridal party but does that mean that every associate has to help them. The MAC counter in Macy's Roosevelt field mall is the best makeup purchasing experience I've ever had! I had an incredible girl named Bren help me today and had such a fun experience! I bought 9 products including lip gloss, lip pencils, eye shadow, blush, a lip scrub, and this cool cheek highlighter. Bren was so helpful and got me to try some colors I never would have thought to try on my own and of course I ended up loving them!
