My mom and I came to get our makeup done for my sister's closest friend's wedding. I normally hate having beauty services done bc of horror stories from the past but I'm so so happy I came here. I got exactly what I wanted and it came out even better than I expected. The staff were so informative and receptive to my feedback and constantly asked me if I liked what they were doing thus far. I never ever go day to day without at least some form of filter to even out my skin tone and walking out of Sephora I could not wait to take pics and show off my face. One of the best things about it is that my favorite features (freckles and lashes) were barely touched up at all.. obsessed!! My mom's makeup was also so different and fun, it highlighted features she does not normally emphasize when she does her own makeup and she was completely happy with the results. I had given up going to Sephora for years because time after time I would get absolutely no help or they would be condescending if I asked question, I'm not a makeup artist I am not an expert so I need help sometimes finding my shade. I came here last Christmas and I AM GLAD I DID, Ilonka helped me shop for everything in my list, and believe me I had a TON of things on my list, she picked up everything, helped my find new things and help me find the right shade for my skin tone. I often go back to shop with Ilonka, like today I had my mothers Day wish list, I went in with my husband and kids and again Ilonka went over my list helped my husband find ALL the products we wanted and few extra surprises! Yay, Sephora is finally opened at Plainview Centre Mall - new location...opening weekend 5/20-5/22. Convenient since I come here on the weekends and beats having to go to the mall or order online and having to wait (even though Sephora Beauty Insiders, VIB, and Rouge do get free shipping based on spend level). Nice set up inside and new items being promoted... ask the staff if you need help finding what you need. Came here early on Saturday when it opened at 10AM and there was a short line to get in...everyone was anxious and excited to check out the new store in addition to the promotion of getting a mystery scratch card to win prizes while they lasted over the weekend. Sadly, found out that instead of this location portioning the scratch cards over the 3 days (whereas other locations give for example to the first xx number of customers), they gave them all out on Friday. It was very disappointing esp coming in from the city. However, hopefully there will be other opportunities in the future where the scratch cards or random prizes are fairly distributed during the promotion period. Or even an opening weekend offer of spend xx amount, discount and get something...just a suggestion. read more

Couldn't get anyone to help, at first we asked this guy to help but he was going on break so he would find us someone. Never found us someone to help but helped another customer. Told woman at the register a very dismissive I'm sorry that happened until I said I will give a bad review. Manager came over said she would help my daughter but it was too late we already got the makeup. Next time they need to take their customer service a little more seriously the Sephora in kohls is a lot more helpful. read more

I love me some Sephora but this location needs to train their employees! They recently opened so I get it - growing pains and all. The store is well laid out. Everything is easy to fine. The staff on the floor is great and super helpful. I found what I needed and saw the line to checkout. Only two registers - okay fine. One had a cashier who took his sweet time ringing everybody up. I agree, don't rush folks, but no need for the full conversation either. The other cashier (the one who ended up ringing me up) didn't understand how to scan a sample, slowly scanned each item, and claims she put in my VIB info yet I never received the emailed receipt. I love Sephora, I do, but this is why I usually shop online. read more

Would give no star if this option is available. Got a feeling that some staffs working there might not really welcome minority customers. Went there one evening to buy foundation for my young child who only needed makeup for stage performance. The girl who helped me turned to my daughter ridiculous my daughter asking how old she is that she is using makeup. I explained that she only needs make up for a dance performance on stage. She doesn't use makeup normally. I also expressed that I need a liquid foundation that is in a much lighter color than her natural skin color. But the sales girl insisted of the one that matched my daughter's natural color shade. She also stuffed the foundation in my hand and walked away to chit-chat with other coworkers. When I tried getting her to help me find a much lighter shade, she simply told she there is none. We are in medium skin color, there are definitely tons of other lighter colors. The experience made us very uncomfortable shopping there. She definitely did not want to listen to what our needs were. At another occasion I went returned some unused and unopened item. There was this white mother and young daughter duo at the cashier desk before me. She bought a small item, the cashier gave them a bunch of samples, he then took the receipt with him, came around the desk and got next to the mom just to give her the receipt. I was like wow, the service was this outstanding. When it was my turn, he didn't bother look at me. Just processed the return and said the money will be refunded to my credit card. That was it. I stayed near the cashier desk to observe. Another Asian couple was after me, the woman purchased something. He, once again, just processed the transaction emotionless. After that was an older woman returning item, he gave her a smile, talking politely to her. Wow, so big the difference in treating Asian and non-Asian customers. The staff on the floor was unpleasant and rude my whole time here. Not only were they laughing at my family and I when we waited 30 minutes for a color match, the store manager was rude and condescending when she is supposed to be a reflection of the workers as well as the being best sales women. read more

Alia was great! I needed to get color matched for a new foundation and she took her time, tried different shades, and found me the perfect match. She helped show different lip glosses and helped me find what I needed. Great location! read more
