Most parts required were already purchased and/or with the vehicle inc. a new wiring harness. In June was told work was going to begin. I visited the shop in July, NOTHING had been done except cover my car with plastic. I expressed concern with the lack of progress and contact. I was assured that it would get done and better communication would occur. Two more months (Aug & Sep), more parts were requested and delivered and more excuses for lack of progress. Early October was told engine and trans would be mated the next day. Two weeks later I again called the owner and expressed my displeasure with his lack of progress up to this point. November- more excuses of waiting on tools (plasma cutter) to finish. December- was texted that the cutter arrived, pics from him sent showing them using a cutting wheel, no plasma cutter. More delays with HVAC system work never performed. Middle of February 2023- Was told project almost complete with startup by the end of the week. No contact for a month. March- Asked about startup, no startup, more excuses about a wiring issue when given a brand new wiring harness at the beginning. April- reported wiring issues resolved, startup that week. May- My wife went to shop and took pictures of my car as they are only open on weekdays. NONE of the work reported complete was done except the wiring harness being plugged in, only the engine mounted in the car, and subframe spacers installed. And mind you that I was dealing with my mothers terminal cancer and eventual death right after mid October which he promised the car would be done before. June- I arrived unannounced to pick up my property and terminate contract. The owner reneged on his own prior commitment of a full refund he made to my wife prior, and after some arguing, I agreed to 51% of my deposit back. This didnt include, the promise to replace my engine stand he lost the adapter plate to, the stale check he wrote me, the 2nd check I got his bank wouldnt cash, the call to local police, multiple trips to and from his bank , nor the fact he had to show up personally for his bank to cash the check. Fast forward to today. I am just getting back to the project car, after sitting in storage. I find that the brackets from my radiator/intercooler kit were missing, an $1100 new wiring harness was cut/damaged in multiple spots and missing a critical connector, my engine stand STILL NOT replaced. I dont know if, or what else I will find wrong due to this owner's incompetence and duplicity. I'm pretty sure the owner will jump on here and say I'm lying, however I have ALL the texts and pictures to PROVE all of the OWNER'S lies and shady tactics. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS unless you want shoddy work or no work done at all and be lied to your face. You have been WARNED!

I just tried to get my emissions done and they can't get to whatever it is they have to hook up to because of this. I've had 2 false lockouts because of their inferior work. My 11 year old probably couldve done a better job. Intoxalock customer service is a joke, all they can do is send me a form that they will MAYBE be able to reimburse, not pay for their preferred shop that can't even put it together right. How does an auto place not know anything about cars??? Oh and it takes Intoxalock 24-48 business hours to send an email, which would be a standard form. Seriously??? I can't afford to pay to get this fixed up front. They also expect me to bring it back to the place that has no idea what they're doing to begin with. Now I can't get my emissions done, which means my plates will be bad which means I can still get in trouble driving when the purpose of this horrible device is to keep me out of trouble. I need this fixed like yesterday. Horrible company, and horrible shop. I only used them because they were the closest available at the time to get it done so I didn't lose my driving privileges. I am beyond angry. I always try to be calm and civil with people, but nobody is making this easy. This is not something I should have to pay to fix. I took the best pictures I could but it's even worse than it looks.

Let me give you a small breakdown of this place. Conveniently tucked away off the beaten path but…read morevery accessible. I was searching around for a reputable body shop as everyone knows, it's better to have one and not need it, than to need it and not have one. I called around for a few places but the caveats were, timing and quality, not to mention price. Usually you can only get two of the latter with the other being sacrificed. I found First Performance through a Google Search and I'll admit, at first I wasn't sure since I haven't heard of this place and I've been around the automotive world for well over a decade. However, I wanted to give them a call. First time I called, Ms. Slim picked up and she was extremely friendly and informative, asked me to drop the car off on an upcoming Friday just to get what I wanted done examined. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it that day so the following Monday I called again and someone else picked up the phone and told me to stop by after 9:00 AM. Let me preface and tell you this was the week of Thanksgiving, so imagine the backlog on this. I showed up promptly at 9:15 AM, walked in and was greeted by two gentlemen, I wasn't sure of the other guy's name but the one who I spoke with his name is Jerry. Jerry in facts runs the place along with Ms. Slim and he came outside and listened to what I was asking for and his professionalism, engaging personality and knowledge really put me at ease knowing that my vehicle would be in good hands. Not to mention, this car was fairly new to me, and it wasn't meant to be out on the roads in colder weather just due to performance summer tires. Regardless, he was able to squeeze me in within an hour or so, and I was patiently waiting at that point. The following day, I received a call from Jerry directly indicating my car was finished. I know he mentioned it would be "likely" done prior to Thanksgiving, however I was very understanding with the holidays that anything could come up, and I didn't expect a business to drop all their work just to work on my car. I doubt they did, but know Jerry and his team did help me out with this. I showed up later that evening, saw Ms. Slim, Jerry and their team and was presented my car. Literally perfect, I couldn't have asked for a better turnaround, overall experience and price to match it all. The paint, which is very difficult to match (tri coat metallic pearl), was done flawlessly. The end results, speak for themselves. I will be referring any and all to this shop as they've earned my business tenfold. Thank you Jerry, Ms. Slim and FPAB team!

At one point when Jaime said the car was finished, we drove out there and found missing parts, dead battery, flat tire and a broken side mirror from them backing the car out of the garage. It took another three weeks to repair. We were promised, due to the extended stay at their shop, a rental reimbursement would be given to us. I will never see the $1800 they owe me. I would have never kept the rental that long if it wasn't for their "promise." Jaime will find every excuse on why your car is not completed. He will not answer his phone nor be at the shop. We went to the shop daily for three weeks to at least see the car since they would not answer their phones. They had the door locked with a ring doorbell. We could hear them working but would never answer the door or their phones. They did not fix things the insurance company said to do but i wanted my car off their lot and back in my possession.

I called and the owner Ruben answered the phone and informed that he was away and would be back within 15 min. After waiting for half an hour with nobody returned, I called again and Ruben's wife answered the phone and informed me they will be back in 5 min. After 10-min of waiting, the technician from neighbor auto shop (Clark) opened the gate. I went talk to him and was told that Ruben is ill and might not return for work. With much disappointment, I left and drove home. Ruben called me 5 min after my departure and apologized for the late return. So I came and Ruben helped me install the auto part with some assistance from his wife within 10 min. He charged less than half of what Clark"s quoted me for the service. I am glad that everything worked out at the end, and wish Ruben a speedy recovery! If you are looking good auto service at bargain price, come to this place!
