This little restaurant is one of those hole in the wall restaurants. If you're lucky enough to stumble across please stop in. You will not regret it I promise you that. The food is off the chain!! The atmosphere makes you feel like you're a regular customer and the staff is like you've known them all your life. Not to mention Leesburg TX is Carroll Shelby's hometown. read more

Stepped into a little hole in the wall spot. Ordered the meat lovers and the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and okra. Husband added a side of Mac n cheese. Pros: pizza was tasty and packed with toppings(probably the best overall value); mashed potatoes and gravy were very good. Cons: chicken fried steak was small and overcooked. Okra was just OK. Mac n cheese was not good. Service was OK. Husband got a refill, but nothing for me or kiddo. Thankfully he shared. They weren't mean or anything, just not attentive. They took care of regulars, but we were def out of towners. Space: it's ok. Like the tributes to military and husband caught the cool backstory of Carroll Shelby being a local. The daily specials were like on EVERY wall. It felt overwhelming. The bathrooms were a bit sketchy. Not dirty, but a little old and dingy seems like t could use a new coat of paint and a light to make it not so terrifying. Overall, it wasn't too bad. Wish it could have lived up to some of the yelp hype and photos. Don't retreat going, unsure if I'd go back. read more

Who is doing these reviews? From the time we pulled in and saw there was no maintenance being done outside or in. The place was filthy . This is just a little country cafe in the middle of no where. But you have to make the drive to try their Chicken fried ribeye. It was out of this world it will feed 4 people no problem. Be prepared to take plenty home with you for two meals the next day. The service was excellent and my glass was never empty. The cafe is just like you would think a little country cafe would be, nothing fancy just clean, comfortable, and homey. This is sorta a diner restaurant. In a very small town. This was my first visit. If your looking for fancy or a modern restaurant then this is may not be what your looking for. Home cooking style from what I can see of the menu. A few people recommended this place to us. We are pretty limited to restaurants in our area so this style of diner is the norm. I give the burger a 4 star and the fries I would recommend not using same oil they fry their fish in. Gave the fries a little fishy after taste. Certainly popular spot with the locals! The servers were extremely friendly and fast taking the orders. The food took about 15-20 minutes to get out. I will try again, they offer specials every day. read more

Ma's Cafe is my go to for a chicken fried ribeye (steak) when visiting family in Winnsboro, TX. They used to serve the chicken fried ribeye on a plate by itself and the sides were on another plate, but this last visit it all fit on one plate. Kind of disappointing, but the taste was on point. Service can be slow on a busy day and they need to get the flies under control. In short: It's an East Texas diner with great food! read more

Good down-home cooking I haven't had anything to eat here that wasn't delicious. They are so busy and my food is so good that they sell out of stuff quickly so if you're looking for the special of the day you better get there first . Come here for simple fare at a good price. No Michelin stars, no strolling violinist, no sommelier. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a cafe/diner atmosphere. They definitely cater to the locals. They have seasonal specials and activities. Family-friendly. Every time we drive by, cars are stacked in the parking areas. read more

My brother has been wanting to try this small town cafe for some time now. We decided to give it a tru and were glad we did. We will definitely come back. This is an unexpected gem! The first day we had burgers and it was the best burger ever! Nice and think but not too thick fresh burger. Toasted bun and just the right amount of everything.
