I found him realistic and helpful, and the hygienists efficient, effective, and cheerful. If you've been putting off a trip to the dentist, make an appointment here. My only real complaint is that they are so busy that it is hard to get an appointment quickly. I gather that this is exacerbated by the mandatory consultation for new patients, although I scheduled a consultation and a cleaning at the same time and didn't have much of a problem. in any case, if the worst thing that you can say about them is that they are too popular, it still means you should go if you can.

What should have been a standard preventive cleaning turned into a painful and unnecessarily aggressive experience. During the procedure, there was significant pain and excessive bleeding, far beyond what is normal for a routine cleaning. Even more concerning, one of the fillings in my molar was pulled out during the cleaning, something that has never happened to me in any prior dental visit. At no point was there a clear explanation for the level of force being used, nor was my discomfort adequately addressed during the appointment. A routine dental cleaning should not result in pain, heavy bleeding, or damage to existing dental work. I have had many cleanings over the years, and this was by far the most uncomfortable and poorly handled experience. Based on what happened, I genuinely don't understand how this practice maintains such high ratings. Patients should not be expected to accept this level of care as normal. I would not return or recommend this office based on my experience.

I've been to dentists where a routine cleaning feels like being put in the torture chair, but that definitely wasn't the case here. The woman was very nice, considerate, gave good tips on how to improve my brushing, and it was over before I knew it. I usually dread going to the dentist, but I think I'll like it much better here.

On August 31st I had my first appointment with Dr. Kaihura at Smiles International. He conducted an…read moreoral exam on me and concluded that I had four cavities that needed to be fixed. Before this I was interacting with an office assistant in his practice, whose names was Jennifer. Ahead of my first consult with the doctor, I asked for prices of everything: the bite wing Xrays, the cleaning, the oral exam. The prices for this work seemed average with other practices across the board, which I confirmed by calling and comparing with other dental offices in the area. After the first visit, I was charged what I expected to be charged and Jennifer submitted my insurance claim to be reimbursed for the 20%, as Aetna covers 80% of my dental work. During the second visit, Dr. Kaihura fixed the four cavities, which were: - Resin filling (posterior), two surfaces x2 - $494 per cavity - Resin filling (posterior, three surfaces x2 - $384 per cavity After the work was done, I proceeded to the payment area, where I was told it cost $2200. At no point was a quoted a price for the work being done, and as the price for the work that was done in my first visit was average and reasonable, I had no reason to suspect that the price of fixing the four cavities would cost almost three times the average price. Looking online at what I believe is a reliable source, I found that resin filling (posterior), two surfaced cavity fixes go for $178 in the zip code area of Smiles International, whereas resin filling (posterior) two surfaced cavity fixes go for $229. I believe that Smiles International is being deceptive by giving average and reasonable prices to patients to then jack up the prices of work done in follow up visits without giving patients a quote -- once they know the insurance policy that their patients have. When working with prices so above the average price, dental practices should take care of their patients by informing them of the final cost of work being done. I really DO NOT RECOMMEND this practice as I feel that they DO NOT have their patients' interest at heart - which I think is crucial in a profession like this. I would warn you to look elsewhere for a dentist and DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE.

He also demonstrated an effective working relationship with the hygienist, treating her with courtesy and dignity, which she deserves, but not every dentist displays. Dr. Abrahamian's teamwork makes everything better, including for the patient experience. He also hums along with the music sometimes, which gave me warm recollections of Jeff Almo when I saw him in the Broadmoor at Porter and Connecticut.
