I avoid route canals at almost any cost. I was avoiding one for two years' time until finally the bone began decaying and I had an abscess (see picture for what I had). Finally, I gave in and I was recommended to go to Capitol Endodontics, Dr. Verma Prashant. The office saw me very quickly (thank you!). The care and kindness given to me were "calming". I typically take 3 - 4 times the average person to heal from an invasive procedure -- but I healed from both the route canal and the lancing of the abscess unexpectedly quickly. I attribute this to Dr. Prashant's exemplary skill and delicate touch. The front desk team, including Rita and Stephanie, are absolutely lovely to work with. This office illegally collects a 3% fee from patients who pay with a debit card. They are aware of this being illegal but are adamant about the policy and only offered a "one-time waver". Contact the OAG if you are charged and they'll help you get a refund. I thought the office staff was friendly and helpful, considering the card policy is outside of their scope. However, I wasn't comfortable with Dr. Verma who was quite short with me and didn't help me feel comfortable at all. I was able to get a referral to another endodontist and they as glad to have an option other than Capitol Endodontics. If they willingly skirt consumer protection compliance, how else are they compromising integrity? read more

I recently had my second root canal (different tooth) performed by Dr. Kabir at Capital Endodontist in Dupont. I can't speak highly enough of the experience and his work. The front desk office staff were very welcoming. The technician who performed my X-rays made me feel relaxed and comfortable. When Dr. Kabir met me, he was patient and performed a comprehensive evaluation of my tooth in question. He explained each test he performed on the tooth to confirm if I needed the procedure. I only ever had one root canal before today and that experience (done elsewhere) while OK, was so unpleasant overall that I dreaded going to Capitol Endodontics. I could not have been more wrong. Everyone in this state-of-the-art practice is kind and compassionate and do their utmost to make the experience as pleasant and painfree as possible. The day before Thanksgiving I went to the dentist for a cleaning. The dentist said she saw something on my bridge that an endodontics should look at. She was able to get me in to see Dr Binait Kabir at Capital Endodontics. Same day (thank you) He was absolutely wonderful. At first it was very painful but he made sure I was comfortable before he started. Bottom line, he worked on me until 6:30 that night. I left feeling much better. Then today he finished the whole process. My tooth feels great. The root canal was perfect and he also fixed a little cavity he found in the bridge. He even called me on Thanksgiving to check on me. I cannot say enough good things about Capitol Endodontics. I recently had an emergency root canal there, performed by Dr. Prashant Verma. Dr. Verma had been recommended to me by my dentist as an excellent endodontist, and this could not have been more true. He saw me the same day that I phoned, after hours (because I was in great pain). He assessed my situation carefully and methodically within minutes. Furthermore, he listened patiently to my concerns (I also have Trigeminal Neuralgia), and offered painless, easy solutions in the calmest manner I've ever experienced with a dental professional. After an x-ray, he performed the surgery right then. It was painless, easy, and very fast. He asked me constantly during the surgery how I felt, and carefully explained next steps once the surgery was over. I would be remiss if I did not mention the staff. They were all kind, attentive, speedy, and very accommodating, especially for someone who was an emergency. I recommend Dr. Verma and his staff without hesitation. I had a root canal done here. Got infected again so I went back a year later. I arrived on time but had to wait 15 mins for him to see me. Just beware as a client if you actually need the additional x-ray that he charges almost $300 for. That comes out of your pocket. Dr. Prashant Verma truly goes above and beyond, both in his patience with the work and his patients, but also in terms of how skilled he is. He is a real medical professional. I went in for a root canal retreatment through a referral from my regular dentist. Dr. Verma made the process as pain-free as possible - despite finding an extra canal that was initially untreated! The procedure went on quite late and all the while the doctor was patient, empathetic, and kind. I saw Dr. Verma yesterday late afternoon for a root canal. No kidding folks, root canal until 7:30 P.M. and writing this review at 8:44 A.M. the following day. I have virtually no discomfort or other side effects. I found Dr. Verma on the Internet after having cancelled with another recommended by my dentist endodontist on Wisconsin Ave.. When I called to confirm time and price, the fee had gone up by $1,000. I was anxious about this procedure as I had had one many years ago and it was very unpleasant. There's a reason why root canals are part of comedians' routines. Dr. Verma was one of the gentlest, kindest, most thorough and empathetic medical professionals that I have ever seen. He explained exactly what he was doing or about to do throughout the 2+ hour procedure; he never became impatient when I needed to clear my throat from the accumulating saliva, but most importantly kept me apprised of exactly what he was doing which served to comfort me throughout the process. Furthermore, it seems to me (though my experience is limited) that his equipment is state of the art. Finally, his staff, from Stephanie at the front desk who made the appointment and sent me the cost via email so as to avoid complications, to his two assistants during the procedure, was not only kind and understanding, but highly professional. I was in so much pain from my teeth that I called and they, even in Covid Times, made an appointment for me! The place was very clean, and the staff was professional but friendly and warm from beginning to end. The receptionist, upon hearing me speak Spanish to my kids, spoke in Spanish to me, and called me back quickly to let me know how much it would cost under my insurance.
