Simply put, Dr. Sokoly is by far the best dentist you are ever going to find anywhere! His staff is wonderful as well. I think if I were teaching dental students (which I am not), I would require a mandatory day trip to Dr. Sokoly's office so that the students could observe dental care at its best, to say nothing of the importance of hiring an outstanding staff of outstanding individuals. Our dentist of over 25 years retired. After doing some research and reading reviews we chose Sokoly Dental. We've been there 3 times in the past 2 or 3 months for routine cleaning and some other minor work, as well as, a crown replacement. Dr. Sokoly and his entire staff are OUTSTANDING! By far the best dental experience I have every had. All the staff went above and beyond! The dental hygienist was lovely and did a great cleaning and then gave me a warm towel after to clean my chin/ lips. Re-instilled my faith in health/ dental care because they actually delivered services that are about the patient experience. They no longer accept insurance (heck I wouldn't either if I was a Dentist or Doctor) so I'm getting a new dentist because I'd have to foot most of the bill and I want to use my employer's insurance because I'm paying for it, ya know? I've seen Dr. Sokoly a lot recently. Mostly due to the fact that being a federal employee means you've got great job security, but absolutely no dental insurance. Now that I have it, I've been able to have all my fillings replaced and recently undergone a root canal. I hate the dentist, but Dr. Sokoly is really nice and funny and he's got TVs on the ceiling! Having your teeth drilled while watching the OC is really not that bad. Also he's got a great selection of magazines. Sometimes it takes a while to get your work done because he'll work on multiple people at one time. But with the TV and magazines I really don't care. read more

After ten years of looking for a good dentist in DC (and failing miserably... repeatedly), I am so glad a friend recommended Dr. Sokoly's office. Everyone from the front office staff to the hygienist to the doctor are kind, lovely, and extremely competent and professional people. They clearly understand that going to the dentist is not everyone's favorite activity and take steps to mitigate those feelings. This is the first dentist I've gone to in DC where I didn't get sleazy used car salesman vibes and they did not try to upsell me on every single product and procedure they offered. I've been going to Dr. Tom for about 4 years. He has the most efficient and polite office staff I've ever met. Scheduling, or even re-scheduling appointments, is a breeze and they are really pleasant to deal with. Dr. Tom himself is a good guy, though he usually just checks me out after the hygienist is done with me. He did do a cleaning recently and was a little rougher than the usually female hyienists he has working with him. Still it wasn't too bad and he did a good job. Minus one big star, though, for going "out of network" with ALL dental insurance carriers. Hopefully my carrier will pay out of network benefits or I'll need to find a new dentist... read more

Best dental experience that I've ever had. That sounds like a rye comment, but here it isn't. The entire experience there is differentiated. I've had multiple excellent visits with Jackie Farris as my hygienist, she's gentle and effective. Renee at the front desk is amiable and efficient. You even get to watch little flat screen TVs from your chair during the appointments. And Dr. Sokoly is credible, knowledgeable, and concerned. They have spoiled me for other dentists. I'm moving to work remotely in Philly and I'm considering keeping this as my dentist (scheduling appointments around trips to the office). 5 stars. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Sokoly's for a bit over two years. The entire staff is absolutely amazing, super flexible with scheduling and could not be more helpful. I was motivated to write this review after Bonnie called me and is helping me figure out my insurance situation regarding some orthodontia work that Dr. Sokoly's office isn't even providing. She is going out of her way to help me figure out what my options are for services. It's truly above and beyond and this is just one example of how helpful and amazing the staff is. Dr. Sokoly himself is awesome. He is friendly, efficient and super communicative. He does a great job of explaining what he's doing and why and helping me understand options. I had to get a filling before I left to visit family for Christmas, and I got a call from him the day after treatment just calling to check-in and make sure the filling was feeling okay - I haven't had a doctor just call me out of the blue to follow-up. Dr. Tom is an excellent dentist who is a class-act . He's intelligent and no-nonsense when it comes down to it. A friend of mine goes to him also. I got veneers and they look fab...very natural. What a great place to visit for your oral care! Teeth, gums, even cold sores! I am so glad that I found Dr. Sokoly and his team. I visited him after reading reviews posted on the internet, and every 5 star review was precisely what he and his team represent. I thank the reviewers. I moved to DC recently. One day, I had unusual pain on my left side jaws and gums. Dr. Sokoly's office accepted me as his new patient and immediately made themselves available for the next day checkup. What a relief. His office was peaceful and cheerful. While waiting for the preparation of the checkup, I enjoyed watching the CNN reports right in front of the reclining chair I was sitting on. After a few X-rays and photo shots, Dr. Sokoly showed me the results on that very TV screen where I watched CNN news. I could see my damaged gums. The next was easy. Prescriptions, meticulous explanations of what to do with medicines, and the scheduling of the follow-up visit. My gums healed as per his prescription. I went back today for a follow up visit, including cleaning. Unfortunately, my condition would not allow them to work on my teeth -- due to the flu, I had cold sores on my lips and below the nose. They knew exactly what to do. I got a prescription for cold sores and my next visit scheduled.
