I would not recommend you get dip nails done here…read more I got my nails done 2 days ago and the polish that they put on top of the 2 thin layers of clear dip powder is already peeling. My usual place does 3-4 layers and they use the powder colour that I choose. Lan nails insisted on using a clear dip powder and then just applying a colour polish coat on top. A waste of $55, I'll need to get it fixed elsewhere this week. I don't live in Kingston.

When I've gone in, it was quiet, I was the only on in the salon He was detail oriented and patient, made some suggestions for colour and was spot on each time. Most recently, I got a french shellac manicure and it's been a week so far - with no incidents - I don't know about you, but in the past, my french manis haven't lasted 3 days, and i usually end up chipping my shellac in a week given how rough i am on my hands. I fully recommend going to Beauty Nail Salon fr you manicure needs!! Prices are quite fair and if you go around 4/5 you'll get one on one service! *update: have gotten a french shellac mani elsewhere since (I'm hard on my nails, and I have a week long meeting out of town and wanted a freshen up - they lasted 2 and a half weeks with serious use with NO CHIPS and NO PEELING!) my new manicure does not even compare to what the gentleman at Beauty Nail Salon did.

They were very friendly here and the location was convenient and they could take walk-ins. But I…read moreasked for acrylics and I'm not impressed with how they turned out. They are more short than I asked for so much so that you can barely tell they are acrylics. I also asked for the coffin shape and it doesn't look like they are. Some are very pointy and some are very rounded. Also on the board of prices it says that a full set of acrylics is $35 plus HST but somehow when we got to to pay it turned out to $55. So although my nail tech was friendly and talkative and they made us an appointment very last minute, I will not go here again.

Thanks for the great colour, Brenda! ----------- I've supported Tips and Clips since they opened but my experience this weekend has ruined my view of this business. I received a cut and colour from a junior stylist, and instead of giving me dark brown like I asked, I ended up with a darker copper red! I didn't realize how red it actually was until I got home and looked at it under natural light so I called back immediately. The stylist basically accused me of trying to get freebies and said it was my fault for choosing the wrong sample. I went back to the salon when I got off the phone to talk to them, but the owners weren't in, only the staff. A more experienced stylist even told her right in front of me that she had mixed the dye incorrectly but no one offered to fix the mistake. Well they said I could come back in and pay full price haha, as if. The junior stylist spent the whole time angrily trying to make sure I was fully aware she wasn't giving me any "freebies." The experienced stylist even had to keep shushing her because she was yelling at me in front of other customers. Not sure if the owners are ever around or care, but it's a shame because I have always supported this business and never once had a problem with a cut or pedi/mani, and never had issues with any other staff member. Make sure you stick with a senior stylist who knows what they're doing! In the mean time I'll be driving into town from now on!

This is my first experience of getting waxed outside of Toronto in Canada, and I was really happy to find such good service in Kingston! The salon was clean, albeit a little bit small. In particular, Maria was really good! She was thorough, clean, kept me distracted (i informed her how sensitive i am in that area), and she accommodated my pain threshold somehow! The price is $50 for a brazilian wax, but students get 15% off so I ended up with a $48 bill, before tip. This is a little bit more expensive than what I'm used to in Toronto, but after the discount it's affordable, and for the quality and time spent I think it's worth it! Will be back here again, and highly recommend it!

The lounge is small and intimate, so there aren't going to be a lot of customers crowding your space. Appointments should be booked in advance - they will happily take walk-in's, but it's more likely you'll need to book and come back a little later on, anyway. Besides pedicures, which is what lured me in after a friend recommended them, they offer mani's, waxing, blow-outs, facials and a few other services (all well-detailed on their website). The staff are very friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the place. I'd absolutely recommend Lush to anyone looking for good nail service in kingston. Prices are reasonable, but do note - Students and Military get awesome discounts, so that should make it even more enticing!
