Had a rejuvenating facial on the weekend and the experience was great! It was very relaxing and just what my skin needed!

The tech was friendly and the atmosphere seemed pleasant, and clean however, the inexperience of…read morethe tech is why I would not recommend or return. I went in for a simple gel polish removal - I was horrified when I left and ended up rushing out. I had thick gel polish on my nails and knew the removal may take some time, but I was burned with the Dremel and now have a small hole in one nail where it burned. I continued on with the service as the tech was very nice and accidents happen, I asked her if she could cut the length off of my nails, since they were weak after having polish on, and I have never had such an awkward nail trim with no regard to shape. She then cut me with the nail clippers on my thumb, leaving a small open sore, and tiny bit of blood. There was some polish still on the nail, and she tried to pry and push it off with a metal straight edge tool, which immediately started peeling off a thin layer of the nail with it, I asked her to stop and left. I paid over $30 for the service, and feel completely ripped off. I spent another 30 minutes in my car trying to gently file off the remaining polish and shape my nail into something that looked remotely ok. I will still have to apply my own nail hardener when I get home, which in most places I have been to is included with the service. I am certain the other staff member present heard me call out twice in pain when the Dremel burned and when she took skin with the clippers - I most definitely will not return, how could I trust them, when a basic service felt traumatic.

I have never posted to a review site before, but after my experience with the eyelash extensions…read morethat were applied at Cher-Mere, I wanted to warn anyone thinking of purchasing lashes at this salon to proceed with caution. I get eyelash extensions relatively frequently but had not had a set in approximately 6 months when I visited Cher-Mere in November 2017. My natural lashes were long and healthy at the time. When I am in Kingston, I always go to one particular salon to get my lashes done, but they were fully booked and I had needed a last-minute appointment. I decided to try Cher-Mere for lashes instead, as they appeared to be reputable and used a good lash product. The application process was more painful than what I am accustomed to from other salons, with an excessive amount of burning and stinging, however the young woman appeared to be working slowly and methodically so I did not think too much of it at the time. Immediately after the application, I noticed that my eyes were in more pain than I had ever experienced after an application... in fact I had never had a feeling of "pain" in my lashes/lash-line afterwards at all. The lashes did look wonderful but remained uncomfortable, even for a veteran lash-wearer like myself. I only started to worry when, rather than falling out naturally after a few weeks, these lashes held fast to my eyes. In the 4 weeks the lashes remained on my eyes, there was minimal loss of lashes, but the few that I did lose came out with entire chunks of my natural lashes. I finally got the lashes removed after 4 weeks at a specialized lash beauty bar in my hometown, where the aesthetician was absolutely horrified. Rather than apply one synthetic lash to each natural lash, there had been massive chunks of glue and multiple synthetic lashes on each delicate natural lash, the weight of which had essentially pulled the natural lashes out of my skin. The only thing holding everything in place for the 4 weeks was the massive amount of glue that had been used. The lash removal took a full hour instead of a standard 25-30 minutes, and I have been left with absolutely no lashes, something that I have never experienced in the MANY times I have gotten lash extensions. Obviously, I am horrified. Lesson Learned: It may seem wonderful to have lashes that stay on for an entire month without any falling out, but there is a reason why this never happened with other lash applications at different salons. I highly recommend not getting lash extensions from this salon.
