I'd had a bad fall off a roof and was visiting my son in Kingston & the drive from Toronto had wreaked havoc with my already painful body. Nik Keating was a God send. I'm a health care professional so know my anatomy and he was able to work out exactly the muscles, origins and insertions that were hurt and the massage brought me sooooo much relief. I sought out a new RMT in Kingston a while back and thought that I would try the Annex. Normally, I'm not such a spa-junkie, but I really, really like the folks at Annex. I see Sarah, and she's really caring and v. good at her job. In addition to a great RMT experience, they are welcoming and always have delicious herbal tea on when you come in the door. I'm not as familiar with the range of other services they offer, but word on the street is everything is awesome. Although the lcoation is a bit tucked away, I kind of prefer that. I read all the glowing reviews for this place and thought it would be completely suitable to get a gift certificate for my bestie to get a nice massage for his birthday. I purchased this gift certificate right before the Covid closure, so unfortunately he was unable to use it until June 2nd of this year... When I called to schedule the appointment for him ( he was unable to book the appointment online himself, the online system refused his credit card despite charging his account a $1 fee). I spoke to a friendly woman named Sydney. Since it was a gift and it was his actual birthday, I didn't want my friend to have to pay a dime. I had noticed that their prices had increased and clearly expressed to Sydney I would like to pay the difference if there was any. She assured me that there would be no additional cost, they would honor the cost of the certificate. However, when he checked out using the gift card it was requested he pay the difference. He arrived 5 minutes early as informed, and was then requested to fill out medical forms which could have easily been filled out in advance, and his Massage therapist was late in collecting him for his massage. Slightly unprofessional. He was booked for 60 minute massage with Rachel Young. The first 10 minutes of the massage was spent confirming and questioning the information on the forms he filled out previously in the waiting room AND then proceeded to try to push another form of treatment on him numerous times before starting his massage. While I understand and empathize employees may be encouraged to up sell other services, he politely declined immediately and was still pushed until not so politely declining. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. Between the few minute initial lateness, the extra time with the forms, and her finishing slightly early he was only on her table for maybe 45 minutes! After the massage his issue was still unresolved and as time progressed his pain actually got progressively worse! He is now in pain in places he didn't have pain previously and she didn't even help resolve the issue she dipped into his massage time to question him about! Consumers beware! An Overpriced experience. Coming from Toronto, and having seen a zillion of beauty salons around the world - expected a bit more from customer service (saying thank you and good bye, advising that the service we ordered will be altered and not rendered, low product availability like missing basic nail polish colors) , and then the basic trade related know-how (didn't have the right tools to remove a schilac nail product in a timely manner). I think the cute decor (for sure they try to keep the place looking nice) doesn't quite justify a $50 nail polish change service. After spending almost close to $200 on 2 pedicures and a nail polish we left feeling quite unsatisfied, and had nobody say good bye. When I visit a nail salon on my own street back in GTA I have an army of check to check smiling Korean ladies shout "bye and thank you" as I leave. Look, It's not a big deal but it's just nice to hear after you spend a fortune. I am sure most ladies would agree with me. I say if you just need a mani/ pedi - go elsewhere. I have been going to this place for a year since I moved to Kingston. Never in my life have I had a wax as painful as the one I had today. My upper lip is actually swollen and my Cupid's bow is burnt. When I said this really f******* hurts the girl told me it's been the same temperature she's used all day and carried on. My wife and I have been to a lot of spas for massages and mani-pedis. We've lived in several large cities in Ontario and and now live in Kingston, and this is one of the best out there. Their masseuses (specially Sarah!) are amazing, and they do mani-pedis the way they should be done. They once messed up a reservation and went out of there way to make it right. They go above and beyond in every way and set a very high standard. We go often, and have a great experience every time. Keep it up! read more

Just went on last Friday to get eyebrow maintenance, body scrub and a RMT message and got the best service! I have been to many spas and RMT services and this one is by far the best yet.
