I absolutely love that the classes have different themes. To me, music is what makes me want to push myself harder in a class and these instructors have some fireeee playlists. So far I have tried: +Best of 2010 with Zoe +Rise & Rihanna with Allison +Bad Bunny Sundays with Cher +Rufus and Friends with Zoe Every instructor has amazing energy and guides you along the way to move with the music. I also love that the staff is super friendly at check in, will help you with your bike, and the studio is immaculate. You can rent shoes at the studio so you have a more comfortable ride, and they provide you with a towel every time. Be prepared to sweat and ride out at your own pace and have a great time. You can park in the garage at Merrick park but my pro tip is to take a class before 9 am and park on the street because the meters don't run until 9 am. TY for giving me some fitness groove back, Soul Cycle!

Secret Cycling. What is this, the spinning Illuminati? I found this place on my commute down…read moreOkeechobee Road, a little bike icon on a warehouse building. Then fitness friends of mine talked about "Secret Cycling", and the "conspiracy" came together! Since I'm trying to get in shape for a certain milestone birthday - and by virtue of my work schedule and enjoying for good food find it hard to stick to clean eating - I need a high intensity workout. Secret Cycling provides it! The studio is located in the upstairs office area of a warehouse / self storage place. Decorated with motivational phrases on the wall, industrial metal joist roof and a nightclub-quality sound system, I started to sweat within the first 10 minutes of my class. The soundtrack - heavy on 80's freestyle - gets me through a grueling hour of seat jumps, 4+ gears and long drives on their LeMond spinning cycles. I've gone with two different instructors, and in their own style, both are awesome. Christy gives the class a funky, Hialeah girl happy energy, even throwing out a couple of "Dalee" and mixing in Salsa and Latin Funk. Bob (Saturday mornings) is heavier on the motivational quotes and a Yoda-like wisdom to the class (though in proper English). Classes are $5 per individual class. Awesome because you have the option of paying only for the classes you take instead of those long gym contracts where you subsidize chain gyms. However, there's also the option of paying for the month. The only reason I'm knocking off half a star is because I wish they had some later (even 7pm) classes. In any case, I'm on my second class and I love it!

Bob (the Lance Armstrong of Secret) has done a wonderful job with this place. I can almost guarantee you've never had a spinning class like this one! The bikes they use are Lemond Revmasters - my favorite! First timers: 1. Visit their website and reserve a bike. 2. When you walk in there will be a counter to your right with a binder. Look for the page with a list of names for the class you are taking. Once you find your name, grab the numbers hanging below the counter that corresponds with the one next to your name and go upstairs. 3. Pick a bike and hang your number on the front of your bike. (Look around if you don't know what I'm talking about) 4. Arrive early and let the Instructor know that it's your first time. That way you can get measured and know exactly how to adjust your bike. 3. Bring $4 for the class. That includes a towel that you will find on your bike when you arrive. 4. If you didn't bring water, there's a fridge downstairs packed with refreshments. 5. Prepare to sweat!

I did not see a shower but I also did not ask. They had a clean bathroom. I did not see amenities like hair ties available. Once I got settled in my bike there were staff members coming in to support anyone who needed help. Someone came up to me to welcome me to the studio as it was my first time there and asked if there was anything they could do to help. I appreciate the attentiveness. The ride started and David had lots of energy and a great eclectic playlist. It was already about 100 degrees in Miami when I arrived to the studio and the sets being completed with David I felt I was working out outside. I had a great time. I recommended the studio and his classes to friends.

The instructor (Dana, the schedule did say she was a sub for the class), sounded dehydrated and lacked energy in her instruction, though she fully rode and led a detailed workout. She sounded like she should have been narrating a Pilates classes instead. She kept calling out a girl in the class whose mother had taught her how to be an instructor for the entire class. How do I know about this girl's background? The instructor kept commenting on the girl and her mother and saying how she couldn't believe the girl was already in high school. I heard her say one other girl's name once, then she kept calling out to "the Jacksonville crew" in reference to a few riders who had dropped in from Jacksonville. The instructor also kept line dropping from the songs that were playing, as if she couldn't think of anything else to say at the moment. Like "Don't believe me, just watch" from "Uptown Funk". She was an older instructor, so it came off as her trying to be hip and relevant. Her arms sequence was a little hard but short, like she ran out of time and had to shorten it. The whole class was off putting. I felt completely excluded and unmotivated to have fun and put in a good effort. I had to channel my frustration into giving myself a hard workout. Thank goodness the front desk ladies are kind and helpful and already have shoes ready for your bike spot's cubby when you book a class ahead. They still are not giving out towels to use during the workout nor opening lockers to store belongings with the pandemic, so make sure to bring a towel and put your bag next to your bike. The workout is great for cardio exercise, so I'll return for another instructor who doesn't create such an esoteric atmosphere.

I really enjoy spinning here!…read more If you've seen my Yelp activity and food photos, you would agree with me that exercise is very important! I've been enjoying Spinning lately, and this is definitely one of my most favorite places to get my sweat on! Upon walking in, you'll notice that this isn't like your average, bigger "chain" spin studio. This place is a boutique-like, small place with an intimate feeling. They have a "lounge" type of area with seating, coffee, and you can even purchase pre-made food from their huge cooler. The bikes here allow you the option to either clip into the peddles with your spins shoes, or to strap in to the peddles with your regular sneakers. They do not have shoes for you to use, so make sure you wear good shoes if you do not have spin shoes. They do provide a towel if you don't bring your own! The spin room itself has about 25-30 bikes. They are Schwin bikes with above average comfortability for your butt! This is very important! Haha I must say, if you're looking for an awesome ass-whoopin' ... BROOKE is your girl! This woman is amazing. Her class is exciting, fun, high-paced, high energy, and just everything you want in a spin class! She pushes you so hard, but makes it clear to make the ride "your own" and do the best that YOU can. She's uplifting and empowering and I really look forward to spinning in her class! The owners, Erin and Dre are also super sweet. They truly care about their clients, and always make sure to ask how my class was. They always greet me upon entering with a smile and a big, "Hi, Angela!"! If your looking for an awesome work out, and good vibes, this is a must try!

They did their best to make sure everyone felt comfortable and they also slowed down movements so that new students could learn. The studio is very clean and well kept, even the HITT room is clean. The pilates machines seem new or extremely well kept. There is a little cubby inside the room where you can put your stuff and feel secure. Socks are a must on the pilates machines and I really appreciate that. Its super relaxing in the pilates room because the lights are low and there are accent lights on the wall. The room is on the cooler side but that's fine because once you start moving you don't even notice. The only thing I will say is that parking is a little hard there at peak times.
