I had one of their service technicians come out to my condo today (7/23) because my A/C unit can't keep up with the heat. The tech checked the HVAC and A/C unit outside. He found a few things that needed to be repaired for $1600. I asked him about practically no airflow in a guest bedroom and he replied "that's just how these condos are." If that's the case, then why do several other condos (same unit number in different buildings) have substantially more airflow than my unit with an identical HVAC configuration? The tech's suggestion was to buy an entirely new HVAC for $6100+ tl;dr: M.E. Flow billed me $97.95 to come to my condo and find out what they can charge me to repair. read more

I had the greatest experience with M E Flow. We are renters and couldn't get hold of our landlord when two showers went out at once, and this company got someone out the next day. When he arrived, he gave me an estimate of how much parts and labor would be, then helped me find the serial number on my old parts so I could save money and go get everything myself. This guy really went out of his way to make sure I wasn't paying a fortune, and came back the next day when I had the parts and got the job done with ease. He even treated my kids nicely when they were too fascinated to leave him alone! I couldn't have asked for a better plumber to come out and help us. We will definitely use them again if we have problems down the road. read more

The initial install crew were professional and knowledgeable, throughout the entire process they treated us and our property with the utmost respect. On day five we hit a huge problem, complete compressor failure and the brand new American Standard unit broke. We had a small problem with their answering service transferring the call to the wrong office and we got lost in the system. I started to believe we were heading down HVAC nightmare lane. However, their manager stepped up and got us back on track. Nathan showed up with an entire brand new unit and we were back up and running in three hours. read more

Called ME Flow for an appt. to get a home re-pipping estimate. They mixed up the appointment, showed up on the wrong date and had me for the incorrect service (toilet repair?) Also they charged $29.95 just to walk around your home and give you an estimate for a job that cost thousands of dollars. Customer service and client retention at it worst. read more

Today, I had an unfortunate episode with ME Flow in regards to getting my humidifier serviced. Even though I purchased a full HVAC unit and humidifier through ME Flow in March and April 2014 and purchased a service agreement, when I called in the service it seemed the Tech Manager was annoyed (almost rude) with my repeated calls regarding my unit and humidifier. However, my experience brightened when they dispatched the Dana the Technician (ask for him!) who thoroughly examined my humidifier and identified the culprit for the problem. Dana was professional and courteous. His customer service skills made me change my mind about terminating my service contract (at the minimum) and looking beyond ME Flow for continued service. I want to commend ME Flow for having technicians with excellent customer service skills and the ability to get the job completed to my satisfaction. Job well done Dana and M E Flow. read more

ME Flow took fantastic care of us. My mother in law's heat went out, we had another company come out twice and they threw their hands up and told us to spend thousands of dollars. We called ME Flow that afternoon, they had Jésus out that evening, and he was a superstar. If you have hot water heat he is the MAN. He basically used engineering knowledge to figure out a water flow issue and fixed it without having to replace any parts. Now the heat works great and he charged a very reasonable price. I now understand why our neighbors in our complex use ME Flow and Jésus will get our call EVERY time! read more

My water heater started leaking last weekend. I called ME Flow and left a voicemail for someone to stop by Monday to check it out. ME Flow had techs there first thing yesterday. The water heater needed to be replaced. Luckily the unit was still under warranty so no charge. Yay! The labor warranty, however, had expired but Jeff Patton from ME Flow called me and said they would not charge me for labor because I had just missed the warranty deadline. Wow! The outside unit of my HVAC stopped working, meaning that I was running on emergency heat. Called ME Flow to schedule an appointment, they were here within two hours of my call. The technician (Jason D.) was extremely professional, knowledgable, patient with my questions, and efficient. (He actually wore blue hospital-style shoe covers to keep the floors clean, which I thought was a nice touch.) He ran a full diagnostics check on both the indoor and outdoor unit and determined the cause of my problem, and that it was actually a symptom of another problem that I need to keep an eye on. I now have a working system, an inspection sheet with the diagnostic results on my equipment, a good idea of next steps and future maintenance, and a check-up appointment scheduled in early spring. Had a great experience, 5 stars, highly recommend. read more

If you like feeling dirty and taken advantage of then this is the right plumber for you. I contacted M E Flow to replace an expansion tank and a pressure regulator valve that were identified on a home inspection report. The parts retail for about $150 (on the high side). The technician quoted a price of $640 dollars for the work. When I questioned the high cost relative to parts he informed me that the job was to take a few hours as justification for the high price. I reluctantly agreed when I was faced with their $75 dollar fee if I didn't elect to have the service done. An hour after agreeing to the job he was walking out the door. When I confronted him about how he just told me it was multiple hour job he then pulls out his 'flat rate book' to explain they don't use hours its all flat rate. It was a complete bait and switch. They used hours as justification for the job cost and then turn around and say hours have nothing to do with their pricing. I reached out to the company to explain my frustration and my feeling of being taken advantage of with their bait and switch sales tactics to which they toted the company line of we are fixed rate and have been for years we are very sorry the technician made it sound like our rates were based on hours. You agreed to the price prior to the work, what does it matter if only took 15 minutes. The fact that the technician lied about the time the job would take in order to secure a signature to perform the work did not seem to phase the manager I spoke with. Basically I just paid $150 for parts and $490 for an hour of this technician's time. I called 2 other plumbers in the NOVA area and was quoted $395 and $425 for the exact same work. Avoid this company unless you like wasting money. read more

I own a private school and was interested in the Mitsubishi Electric Heating/Air Conditioning system . I researched companies that were recommended by Mitsubishi to install their units. M.E. Flow was at the top of the list. The cost was over $20,000....but I was assured by the salesman (who is no longer with the company)that it would be trouble free. I have had major issues with the unit....3 major breakdowns culminating last night with having 80 people sitting in sweltering heat to watch a play. The first technician that arrived late yesterday afternoon to repair the system, I had to explain where all the parts to the system were located. When he asked me for the manual to the unit....I knew I was in trouble. They left before all the people arrived telling me that they would need to tear down a wall today. I believe that this is a major botched installation. I once again looked up recommended Mitsubishi installers....and ....no surprise....M.E. Flow is no longer a recommended contractor for Mitsubishi. I am considering suing this company for the damages of having been told by 5 families last night that they are going to be placing their children in other schools. Buyers beware.....the reason that Mitsubishi Electric no longer recommends them, means that they have botched a number of installations....not just mine. read more

At first I thought the whole appointment process was easy - filled out an online form, scheduled an appointment, great. Then the day of the appointment, no show. Turns out they only recorded my office number, not my cell number, and were unable to reach me to confirm the time. This was epically frustrating as I took a half day off of work. Now, to get the service I wanted, I have to take another half day off of work. I can't have a private cell phone on me at work, and I know I mentioned this when I talked to them to make the appointment. Really disappointed that I wasted my time by taking time off work and now can't have the service completed. read more

We had our follow-up appointment on our A/C today to replace a part and then the annual maintenance check for our heating system. I had met Fabian our service technician, the first time he came out was last year. At the time, I was impressed with his honesty, knowledge, and he was very customer-service oriented. M.E. Flow came out to "clean" our air conditioning unit last summer...they basically charged us $400 to do nothing. The unit looked exactly the same as it did after they were done with it, and it continued to spew stinky black crap whenever we turned it on. I would not recommend this company at all. read more

He called a few hours earlier and gave us the time and then asked if he should call back when he is on his way. That is excellent service, because there's nothing like waiting around for hours for someone to show up. I really appreciate this type of service. I was a fan of M.E. Flow until I found out that they seriously took advantage of me one day. They charged me $300 to install a digital thermostat. They suggested it while they were at my place to perform an inspection. I later found out that the digital thermostat unit costs around $60. It took him 10 minutes to hook up and was something I could have easily done. I am upset at this price gouging tactic that they use. It is an unfortunate event because I thought that their technicians were all knowledgeable and professional up until this point. The lesson here is to always check the products and what is entailed in the work before saying yes; even when suggested to do so on the spot. This time around, I paid money for my ignorance. read more

Called them back for same leak that they repaired previously. We got lucky and got the same tech back who knew what he had already installed. Turned out there were 2 problems. It wasn't the work they did, but something else above the fix that was dripping down making it appear so. He fixed that, easy. Then I had him investigate another problem of wetness in the back part of our kitchen sink underneath. After surveying the problem, discovered a leaky "T" joint way back under the counters and a clog that was sending water back up into our sink when the disposal was on. He took several pictures of the problem, had to cut a piece of the partition under the sink out to better see it (with my approval) and then gave me the estimate after conferring with the office. Not what I wanted to hear, but it has to be done. The estimate actually was not as bad as I anticipated. Walter is a good plumber, he examines the problem thoroughly and lets me see the issues he finds. Even though we can't use our kitchen sink for awhile, I have nothing bad to say about M. E. I needed to replace my heat pump and work with the HOA for my condo. Most contractors laughed in my face at the requirements imposed by the HOA. John, my sales contact at M E Flow, was the most patient and accommodating. Their price was very competitive, and support to file the proposal to the condo review board was very helpful. The technician Jorge was on time, worked hard and knew what he was doing. The work was completed in the amount of time that was estimated, I would recommend M E Flow to replace heat pumps especially in Belle View Condos where they have experience working with the requirements and building structure read more

While the service technician was friendly and nice, whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for their Maintenance Agreement Plan. TOTAL SCAM. I had them come look at my A/C and they said it needed a part that would take 2-3 days to get, but that if I signed up for their maintenance program, I'd move to the top of the list right now and in the future for repairs. Well, I paid them the fee, plus a deposit for the work to be done, and a week later still no repairs. They never even called me back after the initial visit. I finally tracked them down 5 days later, and they say they can't even come back out for several more days Very disappointing. read more

Our heat pump died and, with it our air conditioning, on a Sunday when the temperature was a humid 90. I called ME Flow and they were able to get a technician named Dustin out to our home surprisingly quickly. He was very polite and genial, put on booties, and got right to work. He worked quickly and efficiently, found the problem (a short in wiring) and fixed the problem. We are very pleased with the service we received. read more

Can't say enough about this company and specifically, Keith. Had someone from a different company come out and give me a ridiculous estimate to fix a leak ($2200 because he thought so much pipe needed to be replaced) and it would be an all day job. My dad recommended ME Flow and I called, very polite lady who helped me to schedule an estimate the following day. Keith came out and assessed the problem, gave me the cost of each thing he did before he did it. He took care of it all, same day, for $520, and the leak wasn't even on the part of the pipe the first company wanted to replace!!! Thankful for Keith's knowledge and he couldn't have been nicer. Ordered a tune up for our HVAC system. I did not get a "tune up" but instead just got an inspection only. Results of the inspection: "your HVAC system is old". Yes, I know. That's why I thought I should get a tune up, including basic services like lubricating the motor, tightening any electrical connections, flush and clean drain line and trap - anything that would make my system operate better. Obviously I would pay more for any necessary additional repairs and replacement parts. But the "tune up" did not involve any performance improvements - so buyer beware they are misleading about their services. I can't fathom why homeowners are advised to do this twice a year - what is the point?! read more

A month or so I needed immediate attention regarding an issue with my HVAC unit. It was Sunday around 7:30 p.m. I gave a call to ME Flow the person taking my call was courteous and ensured that a technician was out at my home within an hour or so. Unbelievable on a Sunday evening the technician was at my home within the hour. The technician that arrived was Mr. Dustin Searfoss. He was knowledgeable and discovered the problem in a timely manner and also took the time to explain it to me the problem in a way that I would understand and he was extremely polite in doing so. He resolved the problem within a half an hour. It is because of Dustin that I will remain a loyal ME Flow customer. read more

These people have completely ruined my home! Clearly the sales team and the install team do NOT talk to one another. The install team half-baked the install, ran the lines for the new HVAC exterior to the house, didn't replace the drywall initially and I had to take multiple days off of work to get the quotes, install, & drywall completed...only to have them return to re-run the lines interior to the house where they made a ginormous mess drilling and cutting more dry wall and did NOT repair any of the damage they made. When I asked about the repairs, the foreman on the job informed me that he knew nothing about having to repair the damage that he was merely instructed to re-install the lines. The new unit doesn't even cool the top floor of my house, and it was designed for the top two floors. This company clearly is not thorough nor empowered to have good customer service. read more

I really would like to rate M.E. Flow higher, but I cannot recommend them. I relied on their recommendation and installed a new furnance, at a cost of $4500. In less than 3 seasons, I had to pay them another $300 to get their recommended furnance to work. I would look for another company, one that stands behind the products that they recommend and sell to consumers. read more

Dustin came to my home today to inspect my two forced-air, gas heaters and to take care of a problem (extremely dusty/dirty air handler) that was noted in a previous inspection but postponed by me to be addressed on this visit. Dustin did a fantastic job in completing all tasks. In addition, during the inspection of my older gas heater, he noticed a problem that he had never encountered before. He went back to his truck to get a "specs" manual and then began troubleshooting the problem. He quickly discovered the cause and fixed it on the spot. In addition to being very knowledgeable and technically competent, he was also very considerate (cleaning up, using dust boots, etc.) and great conversationalist! I have conflicting feelings about this company. They have been conducting HVAC inspection in my community for a few years now, so usually, folks automatically call them because they are always on the property and have parts available immediately. I called them late last night and left a message with a representative and did not receive a call back until the next morning. The customer representative who I spoke with refused to give a time frame that the technician would arrive. Upon arrival, the technician informed me of an automatic service charge for that doesn't go towards the cost of the repair. The last time they performed work they did not require a service charge. The technician quoted almost $800 for a motor fan estimating that it would take 2-3 hours to repair. I knew this was a lie and that it usually takes about 30 minutes to replace. It also appears that we aren't getting any of the discounts that were included in our HVAC contract. We have 400 units on our property and should be able to get better pricing. read more

This company is horrible! I scheduled someone to come out the previous week. The guy came out on the service call (that's $95). Then said to diagnose my problem (wait, isnt that what the $95 is for?) he would have to test the compressor for a leak. (my problem is that I had air blowing - it just wasnt cold) 5 minutes later, he diagnosed that I had a freon leak in one of the pipes on the compressor and said that diagnosis would cost $275. Yes - 5 minutes = additional $275. I should have said stop there, but he gave me an estimate to fix the leak of over a thousand dollars. His reasoning was that he couldnt just plug the pipe and add freon back (additional $200 for the freon). He had to vacuum the line, clean the line, etc. I must have been in a stupor to give him the go-ahead to do it. Fortunately, I never had it done because he had to "call his manager and check to see if he could do it" because it would take 2 hours and he had other calls. The manager came back and said that if I wanted to pay overtime (it wasnt even 3:00 in the afternoon when this conversation happened) he would allow him to start the job. At that point, I cancelled the whole thing. I am now looking for another more honest company. These guys are con artists that will rip you off. Whatever you do, dont use them! Call anyone else except M.E. Flow (which must stand for Money Extraction Flow). read more

ME Flow is a horrible plumbing company. Don't waste your time or money. I had a leak in my rental property and they came to service the issue. They incorrectly diagnosed leak as coming from the pipes of the upstairs unit pipes. Then the owner of the upstairs unit had his plumber come to fix issue. However, it turns out that ME Flow had an incorrect diagnosis. The leak was coming from my unit and water supply. The first thing ANY plumber should do when diagnosing a problem is to shut off the water supply to test the source of the water. They didn't do that which is very poor service. Also, even though my management company had them come back and fix the leak, they would not credit me for the first service call where they gave an incorrect diagnosis of where the leak was coming from. I ended up having to pay for three different service calls due to their inability to reach over and turn off the water supply to see that it was coming from my unit. Please save yourself some time and money and go with a plumbing company that knows what they are doing. read more

i called M.E. Flow to fix a leak in the bathroom of my condo. I was told that they would look at the situation and then call me with the price to do the job. They never called either before or after they completed the job. I finally called the office to see if the job had been done, and if so, what the cost was. They said the job had been completed and told me the cost. When I asked why I hadn't been called, they apologized, saying that since I left a lock box on the door, they took that as permission to do the repairs. That made no sense to me at all. Since the work was considered C.O.D., I had to give them my credit card number over the phone. When I asked when I would receive an invoice, I was told that it would be emailed in about a week. The work was done on June 9th, and I just received the invoice today, June 29th, and that was after numerous calls to the company requesting the invoice. On one occasion I was told that someone would call back, and no one did. I waited a week and called again. Finally I called today and again expressed my frustration. The person on the phone looked up my address and said that they had the invoice and could email it right then. If they had it, why did I have to call, and why did it take 3 weeks? I was very dissatisfied with the entire experience with this company and I won't use them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. read more

I cannot comment on the quality of the work because we decided to go with another company. My experience was very positive at first: quick response to request for someone to look at the work and give an estimate, prompt arrival, nice interaction in person with plenty of time spent to answer all of my questions and discuss the multiple options. In the end I asked for an estimate for the second option. When the estimate came, things started to go down hill. The estimate was for the first option, and not even correct for what we'd discussed on that option. I emailed back and asked for an estimate on the second, preferred, option. It took about two weeks and several emails to get this estimate. I eventually got it, though without any apology or acknowledgment of the slow response, and it was $11,000 higher than the next highest estimate that I received (ME Flow's was for $20k, the next highest was $9k, so over two times more than other estimates with other highly rated companies). The change in service level was surprising after things started out so well. The $20k estimate just blew me away, though. If your decide to get an estimate on major work with them, make sure to get a few others, too. read more

I have used them on more than one occasion. Recently my air conditioning unit was not cooling, and Me Flow's recommendation was to do a leak search. I was reluctant to forgo the additional expense, since my unit was only 3 years old, and I didn't believe that the leak would be that bad with a newer unit. Thus, I called another provider for a second opinion. That provider added Freon, told me there were no guarantees about a future leak, and that was it. I was left thinking that if there was a leak, the additional Freon would at least give me another year or two. Well, two pounds then leaked out in the span of only 3 months! While I do not agree with the concept of charging a leak search fee up front (many companies do this given that they do not know if the search will be five minutes or two hours), that search would have told us that it was a faulty coil problem. I then went back to Me Flow, and they gave me a discounted price on the repair job to credit me for all my additional expense, and that discounted price was slightly lower than what most companies were charging for the same work (I know because I checked). Trust this company. They are competent, and will do the job correctly. You may find others who are slightly less expensive, but you won't have the confidence as you would if Me Flow was your provider. read more

I contacted this company because they had good reviews in several places. This prompted me to write my review because I did not have a good experience and am disappointed with "service". I put service in quotes because I was charged a service fee for absolutely no work and no real solutions to my problems. I was told my water heater leak wasn't worth fixing, ok, that's fine, it's 10 years old. My more pertinent problem is the smell of sewer coming mainly into my guest bathroom. The smell comes and goes depending on the outside sewage line, I cannot predict when it will come or go or the strength of the smell. The smell was not really present when the plumber came, so he literally just looked at my sink, not even under it, and flushed the toilet and then said he didn't smell anything. He also acted like I was crazy and that what I was describing was not plausible. Um, sorry but smelling sewer and getting a headache from it is not being crazy. Also, I have very young children and I do not want them continuously exposed to this. I need a solution. The guy was like, well you can have someone go up on the roof, but I'm not going to go up there....that was pretty much it!! Bottom line is, the guy did not want to do any work, just wanted to charge a fee. I found out more about my sewer smell problem on google than from an actual plumber. Really disappointed. read more

I had to call the police after ME Flow had left my house in July. They were there for a scheduled check on our air conditioning unit and left the house not only unlocked, but the door wide open. When i returned from work a few hours later, i found the door wide open and was obviously distraught and did not feel comfortable walking into the house alone. After the police cleared the house, i noticed that the room which houses the air conditioner was flooded, and there were grease stains on our boxes which are in storage in that room. Due to carelessness on M.E. Flow's part, we had to waste taxpayer dollars on having the police inspect the home as well as wasting money on having the airconditioning running with the door wide open in 90 degree weather for 6 hours. We have used M.E. Flow before and have had no issues with them, but this issue was too big not to report. I would think twice before using them. read more
