hoboken gem, biggest sandwiches you've ever seen loaded with tasty cold cuts. best bang for your buck you can get, enough to feel 2 hungry people. owners are extremely nice and the food is delicious. couldn't ask for a better spot! mozzarella is fresh and delicious, mortadella here is also fantastic. haven't tried their hot sandwiches yet but will one day!

Turkey, Roast Beef, and Swiss Cheese on a Hero ($16) + Deep River Sea Salt Chips ($2)

Ordered: Turkey, Roast Beef, and Swiss Cheese on a Hero ($16): with everything aka lettuce, tomatoes, sweet/spicy peppers, onions, and mayo Deep River Sea Salt Chips ($2) Aya's take: Could you ever really go wrong with an Italian sandwich? There are a few Italian delis in the Hoboken area and I decided to check out M&P. I stopped by 15 mins before closing (I wish they would open later) and ordered right away. The sandwich is massive. It was shared among 2 people and I couldn't even finish my half - I ate it the next day and yes, it still hit the spot. The hero was fresh, firm on the outside, and soft on the inside. It held everything together decently and I definitely recommend getting all the toppings on it. The only thing lacking on the sandwich was some red wine vinegar and olive oil. No sandwich is complete without a bag of chips so do yourself a favor and grab one too. Check them out and remember, it's cash only!

Got the "C" from their menu.

Super friendly owners! Was very cool to watch them slice each cold cut! Fresh mozzarella was delicious and the prosciutto. This place is a bang for buck. Hands down. You can feed 2 or even 4 if you make little flatbreads. Unfortunately, I didn't know this ahead of time and was a bit bummed out on the proportion size. It was pretty difficult to eat. But giving it 5 stars because everything is fresh!

Tooo00000000 much food overkill. They pack so much meat into the sandwich that it can't even close all the way. Now I'm all for a big nice fat sandwich, but when you can't wrap your wide open mouth around the sandwich and it becomes so messy that it begins to fall apart and spill all over the place, it's not a pleasant experience...

Cash only Got the roast beef, mutz, and roasted peppers ($16) to compare to the other Italian delis in town. I'm not sure if the roast beef is store made, but it seemed more like supermarket roast beef. The mutz is excellent, just a tick down from Fiore's and Lisa's on a good day but better than them on a better day. The peppers are a nice touch. Excellent consistency that's easy to bite and chew. Got the chicken cutlet sub with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers ($15). The slab of mutz was 3/4 inches thick and the length of the 10 inch sub. The chicken was good but a little old. The mutz is absolutely fantastic; it's fluffy and delicious. The peppers are thick, and they complement the chicken and mutz perfectly. I really appreciate that the sandwich held together. The chicken cutlet is the sandwich to get.

The sandwiches here are an absolute unit. Literally "half" a sub can feed two people. Don't be like us and order 3 "halves." They have very classic Italian New Jersey style subs, thinly sliced meat piled high on some fresh bread. Make sure to drink plenty of water as the sodium content is through the roof, but they're delicious.

    Chicken Parm & spicy Doritos

My first time ordering from a deli in Hoboken. The Owner was so nice and attentive on phone while place my order. I order half chicken parm sandwich ($11). It was the right size for two people was more than enough. It was delicious. Cash only there is an atm inside.

Mortadella w/pistachios sliced super thin, Mozz & roasted tomatoes

I've been a customer of theirs for DECADES. Great people who offer delicious food at a phenomenal price. One sandwich is big enough for two people! Win win win!

    Typical deli with meats hanging

Old school deli run by a husband and wife that have been doing it right for a while. This is a straightforward spot that has all the bells and whistles of your typical deli. They have huge sandwiches at an insanely reasonable price so you are covered. I will say sometimes the sandwiches are so packed with meat and cheese that it is hard to eat but its better than skimping on the ingredients. I went with the chicken cutlet with american cheese mayo, lettuce, and banana peppers. So good and it was more than I could eat. The mozzarella is also a just order and they make it fresh daily. When you order it on a sandwich is comes packed on there. Perfectly silky and milky and done just right. They also have hot food that sells out quick if you don't come early! The chicken parm is beautiful but they also have eggplant parm. The chicken cutlets are also solid so get them on a sandwich. I love Mom and Pop shops that do it right. I hope they stay here for many more years. Highly recommend when in Hoboken.

You can't beat this old school Italian deli. First off - best bang for your buck, period. The sandwiches are HUGE and a few dollars less than others in the area. Secondly, it's super flavorful and fresh every time. Italian combo vibe this visit with prosciutto, hot capicola, mortadella, fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers that weighed probably 3 pounds. Go by and see for yourself!

Authentic Italian... As long as you order their homemade pasta. Please note that on the menu they have a specific section for the pasta they make by hand and the pasta they do not. I heard a table next to us saying something again to the positive taste homemade but they ordered from a section where it didn't say it was lol. What makes this place great is you can pretty much make whatever kind of dish you want when it comes to the pasta. They offer a variety of sauces as well. Surprisingly on this night, I wasn't very hungry and I ended up only getting their soup, which was also delicious. The chicken franchise was delicious, as well as the eggplant Parmesan. However, looking around at the restaurant, I can see the winner is the chicken Parmesan and the muscles. They seem to be very popular dishes. Not only is the food here great, but it is affordable. The only mention I will make as a knock against it is it gets extremely loud in there. This is not somewhere you want go for a date... Or if you intend on talking to anyone you're eating with and hearing what they have to say haha. That's only for the indoor section though. I'm sure outdoor is less intense with the sound. We will definitely be back!

I…read morehad been eager to try their pies, as well as their full meals, but only just made it to their dimly lit, hip and happening main dining room. The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.
