They advertise as being a 10-Minute Oil Change, but Chris and Tyler were extremely efficient and completely serviced my car and changed the oil in even less time than that. My wife and I live in Cross Village and always use this location if we need an oil change and are in Petoskey or the area. The service is always great, but the service provided today by Chris and Tyler was exceptional. In addition to potential customers, I hope the owner of this oil change facility reads this review and give them the pat on the back they deserve.

A nice young man explains the oil differences and pricing. So, I ask if they have a combo package of oil change/car wash. "Sir, I'm washing your car for free with today's service!" Within 10-15 minutes he's taking my payment and handing me an exiting packet. Car is clean, check engine light gone, this will score major points with Mrs. E!!!! An hour later I pick her up from work...she didn't notice a thing. Oh well, not only did I get a much needed oil change, my fluids were topped off, they inspected filters, tested the signals and lights, checked tire pressure and washed the car for under $100 (including tip). They told us that they could fix it by the end of the day and they did. They called us when it was finished and it worked like a charm. The cost was better than we were anticipating too. They're located next to an auto parts shop, so they're able to get pieces pretty quickly too. They were really nice in person and are only a few minutes outside of downtown Petoskey. They assured me they knew and would add the proper amount of oil. I was charged for the extra oil, which was fine because it was needed. I asked the tech, Daniel, if my engine looked like it was burning or leaking any oil. He stated "no" my engine looked good. HOWEVER, with 51% of my oil life not used, my oil light came on. I was back in the Chicagoland area and went to my regular dealer. When they checked my car it had less than 2 quarts of oil left in it. I again had the engine checked and there were NO signs of it leaking or burning oil. When I came back to Charlevoix I spoke with Daniel again. He said my car is known for burning oil. I pointed out the only time it happens is when I need to go to a quick oil change place like his. He looked at my receipts and saw the other place used the same type of oil as they did. When I asked if my regular dearer used magic oil, he did not have a response other than my car must be burning oil despite no one including him being able to see it. I have owned this car for four years and this is only the second time it has been low on oil, and both times I needed to get the oil changed at a quick oil change location. There was no offer to correct the mistake or to credit a future service. Needless to say I will never go back here again and would not recommend it to anyone, especially people from out of town.

I had my 2005 GMV Envoy looked at back in July by Belle Tire in Gaylord, and they quoted me at 850+ for tie rods, ball joints and an alignment. If I wanted them to do my bearings, too, it would have been upwards of 1200+. Luckily, the husband and I have recently educated ourselves on bearing and breaks (thank you, Youtube!) and did those ourselves, and in the process saved about $250 -300. But we had to put off the other work due to finances. So today, we finally got ol' Betsy in for the above work to Royal tire...and they are doing ALL of it, AND found that my water pump needed replacing, so the pump, too...for an estimate of a little over 900. Tie Rods, Alignment, Ball Joints and Water pump. Under a grand. To me, that is an amazing deal. I know of several other mechanics closer to home that would have charged me closer to 1500+ for the same work....and taken a week+ to do the work, leaving me stranded. Royal is doing this all in one day, by appointment. No muss, no fuss. And ALWAYS, the NICEST, MOST POLITE GUYS!!! I had figured that every mechanic came automatically with a sour disposition and horrible customer service skills...but not these guys. I was 35 minutes late due to slick roads and traffic. They took it in stride and understood. The front of the house fellow was Dwayne. My mechanic was Duane. Both of them were genuine, caring, thorough, and took the time to explain to me what was done. Both were complete gentlemen and the nicest guys I've met in the auto business to date. I will continue to bring my vehicles to these guys. They are the best, hands down, in a 100 mile radius, if not more. Oh, and BTW, my final price for all the work? Actually BELOW quote, for a total of only 823.00 !!!!
