Disastrous experience having stored summer tires placed on car. Larger rear tire improperly placed in front resulting in damage to wheel when car was driven out of bay. Impossible to see how this could have been missed by tech. Car barely could move and grinding noise from front where wheel was hitting on control arm. I can understand mixing up the tires but not spotting this the second the car was driven is bizarre. read more

I should have written this review earlier, as my experience with Belle Tire was a week ago Saturday. I brought my car in for new front brakes and a tire rotation. They car was ready shortly but, unfortunately, within a few miles of leaving the facility, the car began making a horrendous grinding noise. I had the car towed back to Belle Tire, where it was found that one piece on the front passenger side tire had worked loose, had broken, and was grinding. Without any question, Jesse, the repair clerk with whom I had been working, immediately paid for the tow and repairs and replaced the broken piece - all at no charge to me. Granted, it would have been great if no problem with the repair had developed, but Jesse and Belle Tire did right by me. I was back on the road within 20 minutes. And, almost two weeks later, the car is running great. Belle Tire and Jesse are my go-to for future car repairs! They will do right by you! read more

5 stars is not enough. Pulled into Petoskey at 4:30pm on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. My one-day-old brakes (done at a shop in Chicago) went bad, making a huge banging noise. With a car full of family and dogs, I called Belle. "Come on in!" they said. (Nowhere else in town would even see us.) In an hour, the service team found the problem, got the part and had us back on the road. Expecting an "emergency fix" kind of bill, the guys were super nice, only charging for about 15 minutes of labor. As we waited, they handled a couple other walk-in emergency fixes. Each customer's problem was quickly addressed. Kudos to the Petoskey Belle Tire team!!! read more

I just went in to get tires rotated after buying the tires there. After sitting in the near empty waiting room, I was curious how much longer I had to wait. I walked up to one of the cash registers and was told it was done. I may be still sitting there if I hadn't asked. Then they told me they couldn't get one of the tires off, they said it was on too tight. Really? I kind of thought tire stores did this for a living. So I sat there most of a Saturday morning and they did not get my job done. So they balanced 3/4 tires and said they wouldn't charge me. Curious, because I thought when you bought the tires there that was free. I ended up going to another tire store to get the job done and they said nothing about not being able to get any tires off, plus Belle was going to charge me $95 to replace a tire sensor, which I declined. The other tire store charged me $65 for the same sensor. I'm done with them, I got way better service at Discount Tire downstate. read more

This location just opened in my neighborhood and after using them for years in my former hometown area, my husband and I were happy to take our trucks in for tire rotations and balancing. They took me on time for my pre-scheduled appointment and the services took exactly to the quoted time of completion. The waiting area is spacious and very clean , with a TV to entertain while waiting. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly, and they were also dog friendly as my dog and I waiting inside for my truck. I purchased 4 tires at a cost of $2100 and it included free rotation of tires. When it was time to get the tires rotated we went to Belle Tire to get our free rotation and we were told it would be 1-2 days to get them rotated and we would have to leave the car. i said 1-2 days are you crazy for a 30 minute job. The BT employee said you should make an appointment so we did. This was the middle of October 2023 and the appointment they gave us was December 13th 2023 a two month wait!! so I took the appointment for the 13th of December at 11:00 am what else could I do ? I went in for my 11am appointment at 10:45 am and was told it would be a 2.5-3 hour wait !! I said are you kidding me I have an appointment to get these tires rotated and it's a 2.5 -3 hour wait !! The employee said oh well take it or leave it? At that point I had words with the employe as I was extremely upset to say the least!! Talk about getting jerked around. I said why did I make an appointment for 11 am if you cannot do the rotation at that time ? The employee could not care less he just smiled as if to say it's your problem not mine!! This place is a joke because when I purchased the tires I was in and out in an hour (because I was spending money) so basically any free service that come with your tire purchase they make you wait so long you just leave and they don't have to do the work!! It's not the employees fault it's ownership fault !! Employee culture starts with ownership and if they let the employees treat customers like that their customer service will always be terrible. The employees mindset towards customer service is if you don't like it go somewhere else! That clearly falls on corporate / ownership they sit back and reap the profits but do nothing to change the culture of the company in regards to customer service. I also submitted a complaint on the Belle Tire website but according to the website 91% of all customers complaints go unanswered or rectified at the corporate level so what does that tell you about customer service, basically no service after the sale. It's worth the 30 minute to Gaylord where there is competition for your tire business!! I needed new tires for my van while on vacation in Harbor Springs and rolled in from the ski lodge with ten minutes before close. Frank had the crew put my vehicle immediately on the lift and was replacing my old tires. I was out of there in less than 30 minutes and on my way home in the middle of a blizzard. I cannot recommend this place enough. The customer service was exceptional, and Frank was so accommodating all while they were getting ready to close. Amazing, amazing work. I had just bought a set of Michelin LTX M/S 2 in the Ann Arbor store. We drove up north to Lake Charlevoix and had a serious wobble at 75 mph. I contacted the Petoskey store on a Saturday and they had me fixed up in less than an hour. Rebalanced all 4 tires and adjusted the alignment at no charge. It now has zero wobble at any speed. Easy to make appointments and manager Brady is very knowledgeable about Belle Tire and services. I guess he worked downstate Belle Tire for 20 years. This place was the biggest waste of time. I went in because my front brakes were squealing. They put it up on the lift and didn't look at it for three hours. At some point they did a visual inspection and took it off the lift. They forgot to do a tire rotation so they put it back back up on the lift. Twenty minutes later I get my truck back. The mechanic drove it outside and the brakes were squealing. He looked embarrassed and said he test drove it and it didn't do it when he drove it (which was a lie, he never drove it). Just had a great experience at this Belle Tire. The My Chevrolet app in a monthly update told me all my tires needed a bit of air. Went to the Petoskey Belle Tire, managed by Brady, and asked if they could check and add air. They were quite busy, but in just a couple of minutes, a great tech named Eric came out and as he started, made sure the tires weren't losing air every day, a sign of something more being a problem. I waited a week to get in to have new tires put on. My husband researched & picked Wranglers for my Jeep. I arrive at my appointed time, then wait 45 minutes to be told that even though it shows the tires were in stock, they did not have them. So "bad news" the assistant manager said." We don't have the tires that you had wanted in. They're not here. Good news is I have Cooper (and some other tire brand) that's pretty equivalent, just a little higher in price. I'll give them to you for the same price though as I quoted you." I check with my husband. Sounds good. I know Cooper is a respected brand. Sure. Put them on. Two hours later I pay for the tires. I grab my receipt, race to the next event, and I don't look at my tires until I get home. They are Mastercraft. My husband researched, and they are also almost 20 dollars cheaper online (not at Belle) per tire than the original tires we had wanted. They were not all season tires. This is so unethical that I can't even believe this happened. I checked my receipt, and there are two things to note on there: one is that Cooper tires are not listed on it, so Sean Charest, the assistant manager, knew what he was charging me for and that it was not what he told me, and two, it says that I "declined check alignment." This is a new business in a smallish town. Is this how they plan to run it? This is my first Yelp post if that gives you any idea the level of disgust I feel. I will be calling tomorrow and will update with the response, but I have zero respect for the way this was handled. Update: I spoke with Sean this morning, and he insisted that he told me I was getting Mastercraft, which "technically" is a Cooper tire since it's a subsidiary of Cooper. I have a master's in English, but even if I didn't, I can certainly read, understand, and speak the language. Had he told me that, I'd have understood, and I would have explained it to my husband when he called. Sean grew terse on the phone and insisted he was perfectly clear in his explanation, but that I could speak to the manager. Yes, I would absolutely like to do that. The manager explained to me again that Mastercraft was a subsidiary of Cooper. Yes, I realize this, but that was not explained to me up front, and that is my biggest issue. Long story short, I will be getting my original choice of tires put on my car, but when I need to use any of the other services, I will go to another Belle Tire location. About a year ago I had a tire pressure problem on my 2009 car. These people worked for 2 hours to try and fix it, and decided it had to be a computer problem and sent me to the dealer. They were right. I was not charged a penny for this service. I promised the manager I would come back to this store when I needed new tires. I did just that, on my new car. They again were most kind, efficient, and reliable. They are worth the price for the service you get. My dad always thought this of them, and now I do too. 300 miles from home we had a tire go bad. Belle Tire in Petoskey did not stock this tire and could not get one in until the following Tuesday. Pretty scary being stranded this far from home with no vehicle. Located a transportation company to drive us to Pellston (No Belle Tire was of no assistance), and picked up a rental car. Received call on Wednesday that the tires were on and front end alignment was completed. Drove 4 1/2 hours back up to Petoskey on Saturday only to discover that the tires had never been put on, nor was the front end alignment completed. An hour and a half later we were again told that the car was completed, we asked, "Did you complete the front end alignment" to which the service rep replied, "um, no, we forgot to do that". Really!
