I almost forgot to leave a review. They did such a great job a couple of months ago, that I forgot about the replaced side of my car. Someone backed into my Prius, taking out the mirror, door, and more. 6 days later It looked like new. They replaced the door, mirror, and several nearby parts and got the color perfect. There was a little strip of paint at the bottom of the door that my insurance said I'd failed to explain, but the showed me how that happened and explained it to the insurance company for me. I had an issue of opening engine hood resulting from a broken cable. The staffs here are so friendly and agree to take a look of car before charging me.(unlike all other places I called) After I brought in the car, they quickly diagnosed the issue and gave me a really reasonable price quote. I took my car to another shop and was given the runaround and ultimately told they couldn't help me because the other claimant used Gieco and it would be too much work to collect. I gave M&M a call and they said no problem bring the car in. They worked with me on the best date to drop off as I needed the car one particular weekend. They worked with Geico to cover the work and completed it in a very timely manner. The quality of work was excellent. They were accommodating and pleasant the entire job. Well, all of the 5 star reviews have it right. M&M Garage is a winner. I brought my mother-in-law's car in for insurance repairs and picked this shop completely based on ratings and proximity to my husband's office...gotta think about how you're getting back home, right? Anyway, Raj went over the estimate with me, explained what I could expect regarding results - he suggested replacement vs. repair (to save cost and improve results), and then we talked about a little extra body work that could be completed simultaneously. He managed to get all of the work for the estimate done under budget and then the extra work for a really reasonable amount. The results are fantastic. I am very pleased. Raj and his team are really low-key. They do not over-promise and don't raise your expectations...so when you go back to pick up your vehicle you are really impressed! I was especially pleased that he advised further work on the car (mechanical) for safety purposes and was able to recommend another local shop with reasonable rates. My neighbor backed into my parked car and the driver side needed significant repair. This shop was recommended to me by a friend, and I couldn't be happier with the work they did. Not only was the repair absolutely perfect, but Vahe explained to me the confusing way in which insurance companies work, and was clear about what I did and didn't have to do, making the process much easier for me. He went to bat with the insurance company to make sure they could do the absolute best repair possible and not the skimpy job the insurance company wanted to pay for. Looking for something else this morning I remembered that I had never left a review for M&M. Two unfortunate damage accidents left my older Civic needing body repair, one on my dime and one on the other parties. I had a very positive experience here earlier today - called yesterday and asked about a scrape on my bumper, and the gentleman on the phone said to just drop by when I could. Did so and was greeted immediately and then met with promptly - I didn't catch his name, but the man helping me out let me know that because I was trading the car in soon, it wasn't worth doing a full repair, since the bumper had already been repaired previously and was not in bad condition. He offered to replace it but also told me it was probably not worth the cost, and that he could just touch up the scratched area, which he did for free! Granted, it took about 3 minutes to do, but I still really appreciated it and figured that type of service deserves to be recognized - clearly I'm not the first to give 5 stars! Thanks M and M garage! I really hope I will not be back (for obvious reasons), but if I ever need any automotive body work down the line, I know where to go. read more

Absolutely stellar service. I brought my car in for a front bumper replacement and the owner was extremely transparent about the quote, let me know that if anything would cost more, they'd keep me updated, and was just really friendly. I dropped the car off Monday evening and fully expected it to take until at least a week considering they had to order parts. I got a call Thursday, 3 (!) days after dropping it off. The final cost was $160+ under the quote and the owner even guided me out into the street so nothing happened driving off the curb. Just an absolute class act all around. The car looks good as new and I definitely know where I'll be going next time I need any car repairs. read more

If there were any higher honors, I wouldn't know who to give it. This is as good as it gets! I brought in my Acura TSX with an air resonator that was completely destroyed, along with a dented fender and damaged bumper (the bumper was completely off the car). I'd seen great reviews on Yelp but didn't realize the vast difference between what I thought was a good body shop and them. I took my car first to Gilman Auto Repair that gave me a quote of $3200 and basically recommended replacing everything that was wrong with the front of my car. M&M respected the fact that I was paying out of pocket and recommended what would be needed to make my car safe for the road and the passengers ($400). My initial thoughts were "you get what you pay for" but at the same time I wasn't ready to sink three grands. When I got the car back, I really shouted out "holy sh$t". These guys had not only replaced the air resonator, put the bumper and grill back of safely but then went above and beyond taking out the dent from the fender and replacing the damaged fog lamps attached to the bumper. Amazing! Besides their quality workmanship what also really stood out was that they were so easy to talk to, did not at any time put pressure on me for any repairs, and were great communicators before and during the repairs. My experience with the other shops where I got a quote was that they felt they were doing me a favor (probably because I was paying out of pocket instead of going through insurance). They, on the other hand, always made me feel that I was just as important as all of their customers who have an insurance company paying for them and really took their time to answer my questions instead of trying to impose their "expertise" on me. read more

This is a wonderfully ethical and professional family owned body shop. I've had the unpleasant situations of fender bender's in the last 10 years with my work truck and have gone there several times for estimates. I always found both owners to be incredibly honest and kind. This past week I used their service for the first time to have my bumper fixed. I was feeling terrible about the bumper being damaged due to my own fault of hitting a pole in my new very narrow driveway. I couldn't afford a replacement bumper so they gave me an alternative that was significantly cheaper. I picked up yesterday and was very very happy with the work they did. These owners are just good honest hard-working people and I will go there anytime I have the unfortunate need for a body shop. These guys are great. I don't know why I bothered going to other shops. First Experience: Girlfriends car gets totaled in an accident. We take it to M&M for a repair estimate and they tell us everything that's wrong, give us the complete part-by-part breakdown and our options for second-hand and manufacturer parts. All for free. Second Experience: I'm not the best of drivers and I tend to scrape on curbs when I park sometimes. I've had my front bumper held on with duct tape for a couple years now, but the bumper was falling off so much that I had to get it repaired. The first place I go to quotes me $900 for a new bumper and it's not possible to repair. Holy cow, I'm not made of money. I call another place, they need me to come in tomorrow. What is this junk? It's a weekday, I'm taking time off of work for this. So I call up M&M. They can see me on the spot, and they tell me they can repair it for a quarter of what the other place quoted. Then they do it in 3 hours that very day. On the way out the mechanic noticed some yellow paint on a side door from when I scraped on a pillar while parking a couple years ago ( you notice a common theme here in me being bad at parking? ). He rubs it off and cleans it up with some chemicals for free. Now my car looks better than has in years, it was cheap, and it got done in a couple hours. The office manger Ryan which is the son of Raj the auto body shop owner are professional and courteous. They really listen and understand what kind of work you are looking for as well as give great and insighful opinions and recommendations all while offering great estimates. When it came time for me to cash out I noticed that I forgot my wallet at home. They allowed me to drive home (to San Pablo) get my wallet and drive back to they shop! I brought our 1990 VW Vanagon to M&M after it was in a four-vehicle collision on the Bay Bridge. The entire rear end of our van was smashed in, but it was still sort of drivable, and luckily the insurance adjustor found no structural damage. Based on the Yelp reviews I decided to bring our van to M&M. (I should mention here that we live in Seattle, and we were just driving home from vacation in Tucson, Arizona). Raj and his son Vahe are wonderfully nice people, and they explained to me that it might take many weeks to find all the parts secondhand, or to have them fabricated, but we wanted our van repaired no matter how long it might take. Every good review you read on Yelp about M&M is all true! I should add only that Raj and Vahe were very patient with me, since I called them every few days (I had flown back to Seattle in the meantime). They did an excellent job. Polite, honest, trustworthy people, and excellent workmanship done at a reasonable price--what more could you want from an automotive body shop? read more

Honest, friendly, and reliable people. I was rear ended by another driver and had to deal with the hassle of insurance claims. The other driver's insurance, Geico, wanted me to use their preferred shop down the street (which had horrible reviews btw). Geico's shop quoted me a replacement 3rd party bumper and a smaller reimbursement than most other repair shops, as expected. Well, ask any respectable repair shop and they will recommend you go with a reconditioned unit instead. When I came to M&M and told them my story, they took care of everything for me - matched the adjustors price, got a reconditioned bumper, found additional damages and dealt directly with Geico for additional reimbursement, and just making my life a LOT EASIER. Btw, my new bumper looks amazing :) Raj was the man I talked to during this whole ordeal. He is very friendly and truly understands the value of customer relationship. I don't know the first thing about cars not body shops. I am always scared of being ripped off and usually customer service is something you have to live without. I have to add another 5 star review. This family was nothing but helpful and courteous. I read all the other reviews and knew I wanted to take my car here. I got there and of course they were busy but they made time to take a look at it and I immediately felt comfortable there. I actually had to come back on a later day to drop it off but I wanted to wait. I work all day and then coach but they let me come drop it off after they closed. Throughout the entire two and a half weeks my car was there I called and checked in at least 5-6 times and they were nothing but patient with me. Answering all my questions and never talking down to me. I am an absolute stickler for outstanding customer service and they exceeded my expectations as well as lived up to every review I have read on here. I would recommend them to anyone. Read all the great reviews here, so I came to get a quote on how much it would be to fix my Toyota Venza bumper. (I accidentally reversed into a orange pole that I couldn't see). I went to another place, and they quoted me $910 to repair it.... I went here and raj took a look at my rear bumper, cleaned off the paint and advice me to get just touch up paint and that would do the trick. And he didn't charge me at all. This simple act of kindness and great customer service really made my day :) If I ever need help from a body shop, would definitely come here and would recommend people! read more

My car's side view mirror hit another car's side view mirror (darned narrow streets with on-street parking)! The other guy's mirror was fine; it had a tiny scratch on it, which didn't bother him. My car was not so lucky; the mirror came off, was hanging by its cord, and the glass was cracked. I took my car to Auto Alpina, because they're excellent, but the mechanic said he didn't do that kind of work, and suggested I try M&M. The son of one of the owners was running the place the day I came in. He ordered the part in front of me, with the computer in my full view, talked on the phone with me there, etc. The guy let me know he'd call me as soon as the part came in, and his father's business partner taped the old mirror back in place until I could get it replaced. The mirror took about three days to arrive (longer than the two the guy estimated, but he can't control what shippers do), and he called me immediately. I took the car in on my lunch break at my day job. It took one of their mechanics about 10 minutes to replace the mirror, and he also fixed my car's plastic fender/bumper, which was a little out of place from being bumped (on-street parking, speed bumps/troughs, and poorly-designed driveways do that) at no extra charge. The cost for labor was reasonable, but mostly I appreciated the speed and quality of service, since my tutoring business requires I have a car, and my day job doesn't leave me much time to stand around waiting for it to be fixed. M&M Garage deftly repaired my front bumper in 2008 within several days of dropping my car off. They clearly indicated their intended actions, costs of repairs, and work schedule so I could easily arrange my own work schedule. They did an absolutely amazing job! More recently in 12/2012, my vehicle received rear and front end damage. I told them that my schedule could not be flexible and that I would need my car repaired in no more than five days. They confidently assured me that they would be able to make this deadline and keep me updated on the status of repairs. During their repair work they discovered additional damage that an insurance adjuster did not record in a previous examination. With their own finances they secured working parts to repair my vehicle so that I they could finish on my terms. They will recover their lost funds by dealing with insurance themselves rather than involving me, unless otherwise necessary. M&M Garage is a great place to receive vehicle repairs. The mechanics and sons act professionally and speak candidly. They demonstrate great depths of knowledge that make me feel secure with leaving my damaged vehicle in their hands. read more

Walking up to your car only to find an awful dent in the front bumper from a hit and run accident is a heart sinking feeling. As someone who has never needed to go to a body shop, I looked to yelpers to find a locally owned garage. I was so happy to find that all of the reviews I read were spot on and I had such a positive experience with Raj! Raj was the first and last quote I got for my car. He is extremely warm and really makes you not think twice about leaving your car in his hands. I returned to find my car absolutely dent free and also clean!!! I'd read previous reviews and decided to give M&M a chance as one place in SF burned me bad work after a rear end accident. And the other located in Berkeley does relatively good work but are very expensive. Brought in my SUV for rear window repair and the estimate seemed honest and the owner is friendly, approachable, courteous and willing to work with you. Window now works like a charm. They performed the work (though minor) quickly. I now get estimates and bring all my vehicles here for body work. I would highly recommend M&M for repairs. **Note: I've not experienced major body repairs at the shop yet however. read more

We got the bumper of our car fixed up awhile ago. This place is absolutely fantastic. We thought we would have to have the whole bumper removed and re-painted. We anticipated this being rather costly. The guy (sorry I forget his name) told us he could make it look nicer without doing a full repaint AND it wouldn't be so costly. No BS- I came back a day or two later and they fixed our dinged up bumper in about an hour. Not sure how they can be so busy and stay so efficient, but they make a lot of other businesses look bad by doing so. They will not scam you into paying more when you don't have to and they are fast.
