Honestly this is one of the best body shops that I've seen around. My experience with them is limited to surface finishing, but I was able to check out their shop and had an in-depth conversations with the owner and a few of the staff. M&M Garage was very professional, efficient with the work they performed for me, and was very competively priced. Don't be scared off by their very modest exterior as they clearly don't care to spend their money in making their facade look more professional which I can see why people drive by and never stop in. These guys are very skilled and are no nonsense sort of guys. So if you are looking for the kind of body shop where you'll be served expresso while you wait in a lobby with buffed floors - this is not the place. However, if you want honest service and a shop that isn't just using your insurance companies' quote as their benchmark for their labor, but work with you to restore your belove baby to the manufacturer's spec then this is the place to go. read more

Very disatisfied horrible experience overly stressed at the end and i was nothing but friendly and patient with these people but it seems like they have no regard or respect for other peoples hard earned cars. I took my 2006 bmw m5 there for a rear bumper fix and he said it would take 5 days without my car so i said ok when it was all done i drove it for a few days and the belt from my motor came off then there was a sound coming from my stereo that was not there before then later the paint started pealing off the bumper. I had to replace a driver side mirror on my 2009 Toyota Camry and didn't want to overspend as it was not being covered by insurance. After talking to one body shop whose estimate was almost $400 (including 1 hour of labor at $95/hr to take off the mirror and put a new one back on - which took me all of 10 minutes to do), I went to M&M based on good Yelp reviews. WHAT A PLEASURE DEALING WITH THEM!!! They directed me to a local auto parts supply store where I got an after market mirror assembly for 1/4 the price of what the other body shop was going to charge. They then painted the assembly for $70. Total cost to me was $118 instead of $372 at the other shop...or even more at the Toyota dealer. read more

For your car repair, I would definitely take it here. They are friendly and professional. Great paint jobs and repairs on any car domestic or foreign. I have taken my cars here for years from Honda to Fords. They stand by their work. Don't question should I come here. My insurance prefers others shops but I could care less, The law states you can go to any shop. I have went to many shops who do terrible jobs and do not stand by their work. Wow! What a pleasant experience! And seriously who ever says that about a body shop? I backed into a pole literally 30 minutes after driving my brand new Subaru off the lot. After some tears my dad told me not to worry because he knew a great body shop run by wonderful, honest people, who do great work. I wasn't thrilled when I found out I was located in north Berkeley since I live in Castro Valley, but I took it in for an estimate the very next day and it was so worth it. After the obligatory 3 estimates, I chose this bodywork shop to repair my Audi A4 after a fender bender. The insurance covered it, although this wan't one of their prefered shops. They were terrific - easy to deal with, schedule and working with my insurance company went smooth, and the job they did was great. He even went above and beyond, by cleaning up a small area on the car that was marked when someone else dented the car when parked. No charge! This is a family owned and run business that cares about the customer's experience. Their prices are reasonable, the work reliable and better then expected. I came here to fix a dent on my bumper that came after I hit a pole. It was more than a foot-long in diameter, and came along lots of scratches. I asked my friend who also works with cars (but unfortunately doesn't live near me) what he estimated the costs to be, and he said it would be $250 just to fix the dent, best case scenario. I came here, and they gave me options, saying that I should just get the dent fixed because it would be cheaper. They told me it was $250 (just like my friend had said), but I came back to see that all the scratches were gone too! There's just one tiny chip of paint missing, and they said they couldn't fix that part because my car is a very unique color -- but it's hardly noticeable anyways. My car hit a fire hydrant. The accident caused the entire front of the car to crumple. I took it to M & M expecting the worst (in part because it was obvious that I know nothing about cars.). They guided me to an inexpensive fix thought they could have charged substantially more. I brought it in at 9 a.m and it was ready by the end of the day, even though it was a big job. What impressed me the most was the extent to which they seemed to care for me as a person. Even though they don't do tire work, they kept telling me over and over again that I had to get the tires fixed immediately. My 07 tC got rear-ended last November. The accident happened three days before Thanksgiving holidays so we had to wait until the next week for the other driver's insurance company to sent someone to look at the damage and give a go-ahead. Once the approval was given, M & M gave me an estimate of 10 business days for the work and they returned my car to me exactly after two weeks (10 business days)! This was one of the smoothest and hassle free experiences I have ever had with a body shop. I had several huge dents in the side of my 2012 Elantra that had been bothering me for over a year. I shopped around and got quotes from several body shops on San Pablo. They were all in the same ballpark but after reading the reviews of M&M I decided to use them. I made a couple appointments to have it done but had to back out at the last minute because of personal reasons. The father-son team at M&M was totally accommodating and was really flexible with my schedule. I finally got it in to them on Monday and was able to pick it up by the end of the week. So I chose this place to replace both of my passenger side doors, among other small damage because they have the best reviews of any place near my house. I am happy to report I was not disappointed whatsoever. I needed my car back very timely, and they were able to get it to me even earlier than anticipated. They prioritized my car, and I really appreciated that. In addition, Raj worked to find the best price for me for another issue with my car unrelated to my accident. This was beyond on the call of duty, and was much appreciated as well. He was very kind and pleasant with all of my ridiculous phone calls asking for updates on the status of my car, and even gave me Persian tea and a pastry on my way out with my car. Also, one of my side view mirrors looked a big foggy, so I brought back the car and although he wasn't positive what that came from, he quickly took care of it. Their shop is large, clean/well-kept. I could not recommend this place highly enough if you are unfortunately in need of their services. They dealt with my insurance company completely behind the scenes, and my car looks great. After reading the positive reviews, I brought my Civic here to fix the front bumper cover, which was in danger of falling off. These kind gentlemen fixed my bumper and touched up the paint in a matter of hours. I recently had the opportunity to purchase a car that was just what I wanted .... Except for a wildly elaborate, Kandinsky-esque scratch on one full side of the car. This made for a good bargaining point with the car's seller, but I was naturally concerned about whether such a scratch could be removed. I spoke to the folks at M & M. They were courteous, eager to help, and confident that they could take care of it. To get a comparison quote, I went to Berkeley Auto Body. They were blasé, and gave me a quote that was 33% higher than M & M's! So I made a leap of faith and purchased the car, then left it with M & M for a week. When I returned, the car was in showroom condition -- no evidence that there had ever been a scratch (let alone a mural!). Can't say enough about these guys. I've dealt with a lot of auto repair and auto body shops over the years and M&M really stands out for being extremely helpful, practical, and for stepping up for me when I was in a jam. My back bumper got pushed in pretty far on my Prius and the hatchback wouldn't latch - which meant I couldn't close it all the way nor lock it. After seeing the great reviews here, I just stopped by without even calling ahead and Raj dropped everything to check it out immediately and then fit me in to their schedule to make the repair right away. Wow! After reading almost 60 reviews about how great this place was I could not believe how I wasn't given any options like the other reviewers were given. I was given a quote $500 more than the insurance company quote which I was not ready for. Even after seeing the insurance quote he wanted more than I would pay with my deductible included! I was really disappointed after friends told me this was the place to go and after reading all the great reviews to be basically pushed out the door and told that I would be better off letting my insurance handle it. A year ago, I failed to properly close my car hood and it flew up on the freeway, scaring the hell out of me and my kid, denting the hood, and breaking the hood lock. It's an old car (15+ years) and I didn't really want to pour money in to replace the more-or-less functional hood, but I didn't want the hood flying up in my face again. M&M found a way to fix it for under $200 in a way that worked for over a year. A week ago, when someone backed hard into my front bumper while parking and one of the hood locks failed, I thought, Well, I guess the time has come for that new hood after all.
