I see some positive reviews for Craig and I think he can do a proper job. If everything goes well…read morefor the job, youmay well come out satisfied. In our case it didn't. We had flooring including subflooring done by him, and a lttle after a year we noticed squishiness in the floor. When we reached Craig, he said he'd come. He did and claimed the problem was bad flooring and wanted us to pay him to do anything. He said after one year, he had no responsibility, according to OR law. I called Lowe's where we bought the flooring and told the agent that our contractor claimed the floring was bad. Lowe's said because I used an independent contractor they couldnt help, that if we had used one of theirs, they'd take a look, come fix the problem. as if had only been a year and a half. Craig refused to help us fill out the guarantee (requires pictures). We have no idea if the floor was bad as Craig claimed or if his sub-looring work was poor, In the future I am not sure we would go with an independent contractor, or if we did, we'd want someone who'd at least help us do the guarantee form. If the guarantee form with the pictures backed up Craig's claim, we'd have been happy to talk to him, as he knows, about future payment for future work.

We recently had Briese Custom Concrete put in a large ~30'x40' parking pad and 14'x14' hot tub pad…read moreas well as repair a concrete culvert bridge. Drew and his crew are awesome! They are extremely knowledgeable, flexible during the job and their work is of outstanding quality. We had a difficult job that required a ton of prep work to prepare the space. There was a lot of water mitigation necessary and even a connected concrete bridge that needed repair. And the leveling and grading required precision. The concrete also tied into the asphalt, so the concrete had to be put in to tie in perfectly. Drew and his Briese Custom Concrete crew went the extra mile to ensure their work functioned and looked just right. They even put in some steps to a storage building and made the whole space function really well together. We've had good work done by other concrete contractors. But communication was often difficult; with no responses for weeks - and even months - or none at all. Briese Custom Concrete is in high demand, so you will probably have to plan your job out a bit. But they respond to communications quickly and are accurate in their schedules. For me, I just need to plan; I can wait if I know how long etc. Jessica kept us in the loop and we were able to schedule the other contractors to come in on both sides and not miss a beat on our project. I should note: We did this project while construction material costs were skyrocketing due to COVID/Ukraine invasion/etc. Briese Custom Concrete bid out the job and then saw their costs almost double by the time they could get the weather they needed this summer. But they STILL kept their bid and charged us what they originally quoted. Not all contractors did that for us. We'll definitely be using Briese Custom Concrete for future projects. We recommend the same for you. Thanks to Drew, Jessica and everyone at Briese Custom Concrete for a gorgeous parking pad, bridge and hot tub pad!

Outstanding!! The…read moreladies at Mid-Valley Tile are so incredibly helpful. They are also interior designers so they can do more than just help you find nice tile, they can help you design too. I have worked with them as a regular client and as an interior designer. They go out of their way to bring in samples and give you plenty of time to take them home and view them - no charge. The selection is superb and the prices are also good! When I am working with clients, I always let the ladies know we are coming so one can be available to help us out. I have also sent clients there without me and they have been treated very well and the ladies communicate with me what my clients are looking at. Any time I have had tile issues (came in broken or damaged - not Mid-Valley's fault), they were sorted right away. (I always order my tile early in case of issues, as tile setters are hard to get scheduled in the Willamette Valley!) Great place to find tile and book the install too. My experience with Combat Construction started out promising but ended up quite frustrating…read more Jesse, the owner, seemed very friendly and gave me a really reasonable bid for a new fence and short retaining wall. When they put the fence in, it looked great with the exception of one 8' section that was not even with the rest (it sat 3-4" higher than the adjacent sections with a 3-4" gap below). I asked Jesse why this had been done and ended up asking for it to be fixed, which really seemed to annoy him. There were a couple of other inconsistencies with what Jesse said he was going to do and what he actually ended up doing. For example, he had said that there would be a 9.5" grass board along the bottom of the fence, but he used a 6" one instead. He also told me that they would be applying a clear coat sealant on the fence and instead he put on a "cedar" color stain. When I asked him about the color, he also seemed to get perturbed. The fence ended up looking great, so I didn't mind that he used a stain, I just didn't understand why he specifically told me he was going to use a clear coat and then used a colored stain. I was also lucky that my neighbors, who were sharing the cost, didn't mind the changes. They then tried to install my retaining wall directly on the dirt/mud in my yard with a corrugated pipe sitting on the dirt behind it. When I told Jesse that I thought that the wall needed to be installed on a compacted rock base to be even and avoid settling and that the French drain would need to sit in rock or have a water barrier between it and the wall to function correctly, he became very upset and told me that "this job was becoming a real hassle." He argued that he had bid for a decorative retaining wall only (not what I had asked for) and that he was already losing money on my project. I found this to be really odd since he was the one that had written the bid. There was no way I was going to pay them to install the wall and French drain incorrectly, so after a heated argument, I ended up telling Jesse I would pay for the materials that they had already had delivered to my home and put the retaining wall and drain in myself. There were a couple of other sloppy workmanship issues I noticed once they had finished. They used a sprayer to apply the stain to the fence and ended up spraying onto my house siding. They didn't replace the corner posts at the back of my property, so there are still old, rotten posts holding up the new fence at the corners. They also left quite a mess when hauling away the old fence, including dropping nails in my driveway and my neighbor's. A few of the boards they installed have since warped or split, causing two so far to detach after only a little over a month. Combat Construction offers a warranty on the fence, but I have opted to fix the problems myself rather than deal with Jesse again. It was really disappointing that they were trying to cut corners on my project and that Jesse apparently felt it was unreasonable for me to question him. The crew doing the work for Jesse were really friendly and professional and the fence ended up looking fantastic for the most part. Based on the deviations between what was communicated to me and what was actually done, as well as Jesse's attitude when asked to do the work correctly, I would not hire them again or recommend them to anyone else.
