They asked for and was given the brand and model number of our refrigerator before they came out. They said they service our brand/model and said the visit would cost $149, to be applied to any repair. When the technician diagnosed the unit, he agreed it was the compressor. He gave us an estimate and collected his $149. We thought Appliance King was going to do the repair. But less than 5 minutes after they left, they called and said they do not service our brand/model. So, basically, they stole $149 and our time in bad faith.

Also, Joe the very seasoned tech is very knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction when he said not to repair our previous LG washer but to replace it with a Speed Queen. We then replaced the dryer with Speed Queen when it went. More than happy. Although some reviewers have complained about prices I feel that they are more than fair. People forget about the techs time on the road as well as servicing time for multiple visits and also the warranty. Good job, your Highness, and keep up the good work!

I'm a licensed architect and have been specifying and ordering appliances for over 30 years. My…read moreexperience with House of Appliances has been the worst I've had in my entire career. I did everything possible to avoid issues -- I confirmed timelines with my salesperson, Drew, to avoid a price increase and followed up with a call. Despite that, my quote increased. After some back and forth, they did honor the original price -- but the problems didn't stop there. Drew failed to place the order, even though I had submitted it and paid in full. That delay caused major availability issues, forcing me to purchase a more expensive microwave just to stay on schedule. When I needed to change one appliance, it took weeks just to get an updated proposal. I shared my install deadline well in advance, because I had out-of-town carpenters coming specifically to install the appliance panels. House of Appliances never got back to me in time, and I missed the window. Now I have to pay extra to get the panels installed later. To make matters worse, the refrigerator drawers and wine refrigerator arrived damaged. I was told they could be repaired -- but I paid full price, and I will not accept repaired appliances. These units are required for my Certificate of Occupancy and panel installation, and I still have no resolution. I even contacted a manager and have yet to receive any help. This kind of service is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, when we explained the purpose of our visit, the salesperson, Drew Meltz, informed us that we could not purchase appliances in Florida and have them shipped to Vermont. Right. We asked if we could still browse their showroom. Drew immediately welcomed us and then proceeded to spend nearly an hour going over all the appliances we were looking for: ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. All the while knowing there would be no eventual sale. Drew Meltz is the best appliance salesperson we have ever met, hands down. He is supremely knowledgeable about his products, patient, cordial and a real pleasure to work with. And their store, is superior to any of the many other stores we have been visiting. Five enthusiastic stars for Drew and the House of Appliances. Steve and Evelene Lakis

I was in the market for a new refrigerator and was repeatedly referred to Rosner's Appliances, so I…read moredecided to check it out. I had already visited several big-box stores, but so many people insisted Rosner's was *the* place to go that I made the 50-minute drive. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. The moment I walked through the door, I was approached by several salespeople at once. Instead of feeling welcomed, it immediately put me on edge -- it honestly felt more like walking onto a used-car lot than an appliance showroom. One salesperson eventually stepped forward, but the interaction didn't improve. There was no smile, no warmth, and no attempt to connect. I work closely with sales professionals every week, so I understand the role -- but basic approachability matters. I even tried to break the ice with a bit of humor, but there was zero engagement in return. When I mentioned I was interested in a Samsung refrigerator, I was told Rosner's doesn't carry Samsung because they "can't be serviced if there's an issue." That was enough for me to end the visit. I ultimately purchased the Samsung refrigerator from a big-box retailer, complete with warranties, free delivery, installation, and removal of my old unit -- services Rosner's charges extra for. In the end, I didn't find better pricing, better selection, or a better sales experience to justify the trip. I'm genuinely puzzled as to why Rosner's is so frequently recommended. Constructive feedback: Rosner's should identify sales staff who struggle to connect with first-time customers and invest in basic customer-experience training. A little friendliness -- even a simple smile -- would go a long way.
