I have been using M.A.C's Studio Fix "Powder Plus Foundation" compact for years now, and it is still my favorite. Although the price has gone up each year "due to inflation" (per one of the M.A.C employees), I continue to spend $27+ on 15 grams/0.52 ounces of Studio Fix. Why? Because it is worth it! This particular M.A.C is located in the Macy's inside the Mall of Georgia, right by the mall entrance from the cosmetics section. It's also right next to the Women's Shoe department. Most recently, I went to this M.A.C to get a foundation match and also buy a new Studio Fix compact because I was running low. I wish I could remember the name of the kind woman who had helped me (and I thought it would be on my receipt, but later found out it wasn't), but she and one other M.A.C employee were busy when my sisters and I walked over. Although her co-worker didn't say one word to us, this particular employee cheerfully told us to give her a few minutes and that she would help us as soon as she was done helping another customer. Sure enough, I only had to wait about 5 minutes or so when she approached me with a warm smile. I told her I wanted a (liquid) foundation match, and she quickly found a shade that was pretty close to my skin tone. However, my sisters thought it made me look too pale (yes, paler than usual!), so the employee found a shade that was slightly darker, which looked great! Since I was planning to buy the foundation another day, I requested a sample to try out at home (which is the norm at most cosmetic stores). She happily prepared a sample in a little plastic container so that I could try it for a few days before I ultimately go back to make my purchase. After my liquid foundation match, I asked the employee for her opinion on the Studio Fix shade that I was currently using - NC30 - since I was about to buy another one. She told me that it looked a little too dark for my skin tone, which I didn't even consider since I had been buying the same shade for years. I really appreciated that she helped me find a lighter, more flattering Studio Fix shade - C2. She showed me how it looked over the liquid foundation, and I thought it looked great, so I went ahead and bought a new shade of compact for the first time in years! Overall, this M.A.C Cosmetics inside Macy's gets 4.5 stars for their quality cosmetic products and this wonderful employee who assisted me recently. If I find out her name upon my return, I'll be sure to update my review accordingly because she was awesome. However, I have to knock off 1/2 a star because the price for the Studio Fix compact (as well as their other cosmetics, I assume) has steadily been increasing by 50 cents every year. I've been wearing MAC cosmetics for over 10 years! I love it. It's a little heavy but the flawless look is what I love. It very complementing to my ebony skin tone. One thing that surprised me was their lashes! I bought a pair for $17 and the Make Up Artist put them on for free! Courtney at the Mall of GA is very amazing! She patient and did an excellent job. She waited on 4 women and took care of each of us individually. We all left very satisfied! Thank you Mac Cosmetics. You amaze me every time. read more

I made an appointment at 2. When I arrived they said someone else called in and made an appointment so they would be first. They have 5 artist standing around doing nothing. Really disappointed with MAC! I have used this makeup for years. Really considering making a change. read more

Usually I won't take the time out to write a review unless it was really bad or really good! But I had to this time. The atmosphere was inviting and the consultants were friendly. Everyone greeted me, and I happened to be having a bad day, so the tone of the consultants and them greeting me, lifted up my spirits. Stephanie, helped me and she made sure to try out different makeup color tones to find my right color. I have been to MAC makeup stores nationwide and usually don't always get this type of treatment. The consultants are usually rude or they ignore you. I have had some that just look at your face color and tell you what color you're going to be, without trying it on you. After having awful experiences at both Sephora and Ulta I have become a die hard Mac girl. This is the second time and second Mac location I have been to, and both times have had the best experience. Vanessa, from the Mall of Georgia location, helped me find the perfect blush for my skin tone. She was super kind, genuine, and helpful. I will continue to go to this location. Atrocious: There are three people here right now (6/30/14, 4:16pm) and only one of them is working. There's a tall, heavy set AA girl who is completely useless. I asked her for help and was flatout ignored. She'd rather go in the back and nibble on whatever her funky (no really, she stinks) behind is eating. Whoever she is in the back entertaining is either on break or just as useless as she is. There is one girl out here doing makeup and helping customers on the floor. Send these other two useless flunkies home. Wish they had on badges so that I could report NAMES. I spend too much money on this brand for this type of treatment. No more. read more

The lady that helped me was a younger Hispanic woman who took the time to help me with colors. I am new to makeup and accustomed to representatives just trying to sell me anything. She played with different colors to see what worked best for me and was so pleasant. After speaking with her, I ran around to different stores, trying different colors only to realize her original advice was what worked best for my face. I came to the conclusion that these women are professional and definitely good at their job. read more

Don't be fooled by the fact that this MAC is located inside of Mall of Georgia-service here is TERRIBLE! The night I visited, THREE employees were just standing up near the register talking and looking at their cell phones. The ONE of the TWO employees actually assisting customers asked the girls nicely if they could help me, as I had been standing there for several minutes. They muttered something other than "Sure!" or "OK!" and DIDN'T COME OVER TO HELP ME! I finally got decent assistance from the lady who asked them to help me after she finished helping her customer, but I still felt rushed, not a good feeling for someone that's kind of a novice to makeup application. Like another reviewer said, MAC products are entirely too pricey to receive less than stellar service in the store, especially when things can be ordered online. I went here today, not only did they package the wrong product, when I called and tried to get some information about exchanging at a location closer to me, Natasha treated me as though I was lying, and then gave me the run around and hung up on me twice, then Taylor, also rude, pretended to be the manager, then the truth came out that she wasn't she then proceeded to yell at me and tell me I could not make my exchange and she couldn't help me, but you sold me a product and put the wrong one in my bag. GO ELSEWHERE. Mall of GA Macy's is a far cry from the great customer service you expect from Macy's. By the way they originally put the wrong color on me, when I said I think it's too dark, they insisted that was my skin, when my friend who was with me (who formerly worked for MAC before moving to GA, and still only uses MAC) advised that they should try another color cause what they were using clearly made a dark splotch on my face. The MAC "artist" (if we must call them that), says , "oh well maybe cause I did it with a q-tip, all my brushes are dirty", um eww, why? Shouldn't you clean them in between customers or when you first walked up to me and asked to help. Or perhaps when you prior to placing liquid foundation, prior to asking if I want liquid or powder. Eventually, we made our way around to the correct makeup selections, and my confirming what items I want to purchase I watch them ring me up at the register, but somehow the wrong items are in my bag. Just left from here trying to purchase the Bittersweet lipliner. Walked in and wasn't greeted at all, no eye contact whatsoever. I went looking for 1 minute and made sure I was right by the cash register to give them some time to acknowledge my presence and yet still no acknowledgement. I took it a step further and decided to stand by the cash register while the manager talked on the phone, she hung up and walked out in a hurry as if someone needed her on the other side of the store. The two other workers kept on styling their clients and one of them walked passed me to use the phone, I figured she would say "someone will be with you shortly," but she hung up and just walked right passed!!! Everyone is busy styling their walk-ins and even when the manager came running back, she walked over to the lady getting her makeup done to tell her how good the makeup looks while I'm still waiting to be greeted!!!! IT'S BEEN 3-4 MINUTES ALREADY. I took one last look around and stormed out of there. I know that they probably don't care, but they should, because a job is always replaceable. I'll be frequenting the new location over by me from now on. Your customer service is terrible!!! read more

Representative made my face and i bought 72.00 worth of product. Put it on the next day and walked outside my face was Orange. Should have known she didnt know what she was talking about when she said she was matching my makeup to my chest (no my chest isnt orange). It was riduculous! After going to REAL MAC in Perimeter, i was matched correctly. Yes i wore the orange makeup to their store. They apologized. It wasnt their fault that an incompetent person works at the Macys Mac Counter. Took makeup back to purchase the correct thing, even though it was their mistake Nikko refused to give me my original discount. Will be taking it back tomorrow and never buying anything from MAC at Macys at the Mall of Georgia again. My advice is to go to where you know certification at a higher level is required and customer service is important. read more

I normally don't review unless my experience was really really good or really really bad. I was always intimidated to go into Mac because the workers there seemed so unfriendly all the time. I was at the mall a couple of weeks ago and needed a powder and my BFF convinced me to give it a try and although I had my reservation about going in I gave it a go. It was a Saturday ( a mad house at the mac )even though it was busy I was greeted a short while later by a super friendly employee. She said someone would be with me shortly. The only negative thing I have to say about my experience is that only she and maybe one other person greeted me and there were like 7 other employees there. They also seemed to be the only two that were moving across the floor fast enough for the amount of people that needed to be waited on. Anyway, she got back to me a short while later and started matching me. She asked me a few questions and then explained very precisely what she was doing, what she was using and how to get the outcome I was looking for in my makeup. She was super polite and took her time with me even in the middle of the chaos in that store. She really took the time to really listen to me all the while remaking polite and patient with the many many questions I had lol. I was most impressed with her knowledge about the product and how she was able to effortlessly find things I didn't even think i needed. I ended up walking away with a primer, moisturizer, foundation, powder, and a few brushes . She even gave me a store card with her name (Natasha) and told me to contact her if I had any questions about my purchase or just needed a refresher on how to apply it. That was the cherry on top!! There was a African American girl with blonde hair and lightened eyebrow, heavy set who was rude to me and the 5 girls I brought with me. She never addressed us and was so short in answers that after she matched my daughter, we decided to leave.. Not to mention the "what do you want glances" we got from her when asking questions. She missed out on $150 worth of sales as I was going to buy foundation for my other teens as well as nail polish. There was a blonde, friendly rep who greeted us when we first arrived and she wasn't the closest rep to us. She left to get some products. Even she was given a dirty look by the same sales rep when she advised her she would be gone. Don't bother trying to call them on the numbers listed on Google, disconnected. Even the mall security office couldn't provide an alternate number. What's the deal with this store? read more
