I am blown away at how much I love Lyons. The owner is genuinely nice, always has a smile and never seems bothered. The dry cleaner I used for 20 years closed and I needed to find a new one. This one was around the corner and decided to give it a try. Their altering services are nothing short of incredible. As far as a dry cleaner goes, my clothes are always nice when they comes back. The biggest take away is how wonderful the owners are and how accommodating they are. Sometimes I find myself in a last-minute pinch and they have come through with flying colors every time. The owner is a sweetheart. She cares about her customers, and she often will sew on a button and not charge you. Today people do not do this. This is a business with old-fashioned service. I used several dry cleaners in my lifetime in Los Angeles and know what is standard and what is not. Before Yelp, I just stopped using them if I had to return an item for a re-do. Sort of like refried beans. Why fry it the second time if you can get it right the first time?...(This is my total ignorance of the beauty of refried beans). Anywho! If you like to argue about poor dry cleaning services and want to hear excuses go to this place NOW! Don't forget to bring your debate game bro! Better equip yourself with some choice foreign words too in case you realize you aren't going to win against a border wall! Perhaps I am that 1% who doesn't get this place. When you go to the cleaners, you want it cleaned the first time. When you want something hemmed, you want it done right the first time. When you want an argument, you want it on the first visit. Based on the reviews, I get a feeling if you bring a ton of clothes to this place or have multiple family members who frequent this place, you get good service. I get that. So get this! Nope... not going here again. Despite living VERY close and envisioning how convenient this place would be, I'm gonna prefer not receiving my items back with a slightly sticky film on them. I dropped off a comforter cover and pillow cases, was quoted a fairly decent price that was clearly made up on the spot, and told to come back in a week. It seemed a little long but it also seemed like they didn't do comforter covers very often so I let it slide. A week goes by and I make my way down the block. Nope, not ready yet... maybe tomorrow. Okay, no big deal, just give a guy a heads up when it'll be ready. Finally get that heads up a couple of days later... I'm out of town now but my girlfriend makes the pick up. Said the gentleman was very nice and explained how they cleaned it 'extra special' for us. Cool. A day later we unzip it's protective plastic casing to re-comfort our bed and both instantly notice something amiss: an overly flowery oder and some very sticky fingers. It took a number of days to 'air out' and a lot of self cleaning to get rid of the damp, sticky nature. Luckily it wasn't ruined but I would never consider giving them a second chance to ruin something else with their 'extra special' cleaning. read more

I came into this place because my friend recommended it to me and it used to be right around the corner from where I lived a year ago. Their service is super friendly and they'll remember little details about you personally that is a nice added touch. One thing that bugs me though is that they just TALK TOO MUCH. I'm all about being friendly, but its a little annoying when they repeat themselves over and over. Usually the service is timely, but this most recent time they had promised me my suit by a certain time and then they told me to come back at noon. Went back and noon and they said theyll call me when its ready. I never received a call and I went in the following moring and the first thing the owner repeats with a smile 5 times is "I called you, I called you. Hey, I called you." Made me believe he was lying , but eh...the world goes on. I still come here, and will continue being a client unless they pull a stunt like that again. read more

Horrible tailoring ruined $400 worth of new clothes. Massive attitude when we complained. This place does bad work and treats its customers like shit. Worst experience I've ever had as a customer in my life. Avoid at all costs, and please warn your friends not to go here. This place is under new management since the first yelp review, so please ignore it 100%. My girlfriend's uncle owns a drycleaners across town, and she felt a bit guilty bringing stuff to him all the time. She had some very easy tailoring work she needed done on 4 brand new items (ie removing belt loops, shortening straps) and so took it in to this place to be fixed by the "expert tailor" advertised on the big sign outside. Since the tailor wasn't there, the girl present said that she wasn't sure how the work would be done nor how much it would cost, and so she told my girlfriend that the tailor would call her to confirm that the work she asked for could be done as she wanted it, and also to confirm the total cost, and said that she'd have the tailor call prior to working on the clothes. The next call we got was from another person who was not the tailor, saying that the clothes were finished. So they screwed up the message, and the tailor went ahead and did the clothes without confirming. When we went to pick up the clothes, we were amazed at the work they did on them. It was beyond amateurish - absolutely horrible. The stitching was uneven, and not even closed in multiple spots. On a brand new dress, rather than put a seam in a tailored section on the side of the dress (as were all the other seams), the tailor created a seam running down the center of the dress. The tailor also managed to put a hole in another brand new dress when he/she took out the belt loops. All of this was so bad, even I - a DUDE for god's sake - was instantly able to see that it was a shit job that a 6-year old could have done better. Now a normal business owner would be prostate at this horrible service. Not this guy. First he repeatedly accused my girlfriend of lying when she said that it was her 4th time back to the store trying to resolve the issue. (The 3rd time, he caved and said he was sending the clothes to a "professional tailor" for fixing. Note that the sign outside his place says "expert tailor".) When she reminded him that the dress she took back the previous visit had a hole in it, he denied that it did, and said that we must have made the hole - even though the other person in the store - THE OWNER'S GIRLFRIEND - saw the hole when she gave it back to us. Also, he said the clothes would be ready last Saturday, yet when we went to pick them up on Monday, he said that they were ready but he was too busy last Saturday to go pick them up, so we'd have to come back again another day. The one dress that was ready that day (the one with the fucked-up seams) had been adjusted so that the seams matched the rest of the clothes, but the tailor didn't cut the fabric properly when they adjusted it, and everything was totally uneven. Again - totally obvious to me as a dude, and any sane person, yet he stood there looking at it saying that the tailor did a great job. The whole time, he had a very confrontative attitude, did not apologize nor show empathy once, repeatedly accused my girlfriend of lying and being wrong about everything she said, called my girlfriend "girl" twice, refused to give us the aforementioned dress back from behind the counter so we could take a picture of the shoddy work, and generally acted like a massive asshole the entire time, sucking on a toothpick in his mouth while he talked down to us. I am not an aggressive person, but I have never been so close to physical violence against a person doing his job. When he refused to give us the dress so I could take a picture of the shoddy work, I tried to take a picture of it hanging up behind him. He actually came over and tried to pry my camera phone out of my hands! By this time, the guy who sells crappy pre-fab "statues" on the corner in front of this strip mall came in to stand in the store to listen to the debate in defense of this idiot owner. This corner statue guy actually told me and my girlfriend, "No, the tailor did great work, I saw it". WTF??? At the end of it, the guy told us that we'd be paying $45 for the pleasure of having them ruin my girlfriend's clothes. We were amazed that anyone would not only fail to reimburse for the cost of the clothes (for which my girlfriend showed tags and receipts) but would insist on charging full price. Do not give this horrible place your business. read more

Lyon's Cleaners is my favorite cleaners. It's walking distance to my abode. I am on a first name basis with the owners. It's great. Sometimes on hot days she gives me cans of Coca Cola. Other times she knocks a few dollars off my bill. I am always pleased with the clean clothes. This reminds me. I have a ton of things I need dry cleaned. This place is great. They changed ownership a few months back. The new owners are a husband and wife team. Anna the wife is super friendly and welcoming. I think she is the one that is there the most. I've not only had dry cleaning done here but also alterations, which they do a great job at and their prices are very reasonable for the quality of services. read more
