My 2007 Honda Civic's AC decided to call it quits last week after running smoothly for 7 years. My first thought was to bring it to the dealership - good thing I didn't. The dealership was going to charge me $150 just to diagnose the car and up to $800 to fix whatever is wrong -- yes, I'm talking about Honda World Downey. I went to LYNN'S AUTO AIR,INC. at 13255 Woodruff Ave in Downey to have my alternator change in my 1998 Mercedes Benz E320 on 2/23/2023. Mr Flores checked my car almost all day and found my altenator is working fine. He said what drained my battery is rear passenger light was on all the time which was causing the battery drain. For all the work and time, Mr Flores charged me $59.50 for checking the car. How often and where do you fine honest repair shop these days. This was my first visit to Lynn's. Wow. What a drastic difference from dealing with the dealership. I came here after being screwed over from them. Just the way Lynn's spoke to me was refreshing. I hate giving One Star reviews. I wanted to really give this shop my business. I walked in and informed them that my car's A/C was blowing a little warm. He asked me to pull forward so he could check it out. I had the A/C blowing already so he could see my concerns. He goes inside and says it's cool air. I explained when it's hot out, the air blows almost room tempt. Then he proceeded to touch the high and low pressure valves with his hands. And says "It's cold. There's freon flowing I think. I mean you can recharge and drain for about $80, $90, maybe $100" He walks away to unload a truck with another employee and I was left there with no further explanation nor possible actions I could take. I decided to leave due to lack of customer service. I did some in depth research online. Went to Walmart to buy an A/C guage and recharge can for my specific car. Saw that it was a bit low. After about 15 minutes and a $39.99 canister and guage; my A/C was blowing ice cold. Easy fix. All done at home. Perhaps this was an isolated incident. But I will definitely not give this place another chance. read more

Awful!!! I have an older SUV that is having AC issues. The compressor seems to turn on and off, but only blows warm air. I called Lynn's Auto Air late Thursday (07/27/2023), explained the situation, including the fact that it had been topped off with Freon less than a year ago so there must be a leak in the system. They responded that they do not take appointments, it's first come, first serve. I responded ok, I will bring it in early Friday morning. I dropped off the vehicle around 8:30AM. Around 4:30PM comes around and I had not heard anything so I called. They said they will not be able to look at the vehicle today and it will have to wait until tomorrow. I said no problem, will see tomorrow. Saturday comes around, and I do not hear anything so I called them around 10:40AM. They told me that they are looking at the vehicle now and will let me know. I said ok. Around 11:40 they call me and say that my vehicle is ready for pickup. Since the vehicle was topped off less than a year ago, I was expecting them to tell me that it needed some parts. I was not in a spot where I could talk much, but when I did ask them what exactly they did, they said they addressed one spot where they so a leak, but their "sniffer" told them there was still a leak back in my dash. When I asked them why not fix all the leaks, they told me that would be expensive. I responded, how about how much? They said something like, I don't know, maybe $1,500 to $1,600. I said, well, I really don't want to go through this again, so proceed. He said they would not be able to get to it for 3 weeks since they had others with "appointments" ahead of me, I needed to pick-up my vehicle, and they close at 12... in 20 minutes. Having not much of a choice. I said that I will pick-up my vehicle. First off, why would you wait to tell the customer 20 minutes prior to close they their vehicle is "ready" and has to be picked up. I guess they are not aware that folks might need more than 20 minutes to stop what they doing (I was grocery shopping with the kids), find a ride, and come get the vehicle. Second why would you call the customer, tell him his vehicle is "ready" without having an estimate to complete the job. Third, why would return the vehicle with the customer with Freon still leaking into the cab of all places. Is this how they guarantee repeat business? Finally, how did a place that does not take appointments now have 3 weeks worth of people with "appointments" ahead of me? If we have to wait on parts, ok, I guess I can take the vehicle and return it later, but he didn't even provide that information. About 10 minutes later, I called back asking for clarification. Why did you wait until 20 minutes prior to close to call me saying I had to pick up my vehicle? Why are you returning me a vehicle that is still leaking Freon? Once again, I explained that the system was topped off less than a year ago, and I do not want to come back again in another year with a vehicle still leaking Freon. The job is not done. How are there 3 weeks of people with "appointments" ahead of me when you told me you do not take "appointments." His "response" was that since I was giving him a "hard time", they do not want to work on my vehicle. I told him that I will come to get my vehicle and in the meantime, he could try learning something about customer service. About 15 minutes later, I was able to find a second driver to drop me off. I called back to make sure they were still open. His response was something like "I thought you were already on your way." I said I will be there in 20 minutes will you be there or not? He said yes and I hung up the phone. When I arrived, I found my vehicle in the street and them chaining up their parking lot. I went into the shop and he told me the keys to my vehicle were under the floor mat. That's right, he left my vehicle unlocked on the street, in a not so nice neighborhood. When I asked if I had to pay for their incomplete work, he said no so I got my vehicle and came home. I am going to assume that he did not charge me so that there is no paper trail of me being there for when I report to CalEPA and California Board of Automotive Repair (BAR) that they are returning vehicles to customer still leaking Freon. Had to get a hose fixed after I bought a used car late last year. They found a tiny hole in my evap hose which is great because it was heating up around town. Fixed it in less then a day and price was very reasonable. My work sends vehicles to them when we need a/c help, and they are very easy to communicate with. Only downside is also their upside. They are very popular, therefore tend to be very busy! lol read more

Came in because my A/C stopped working. I have a 2016 Honda Civic. As it turns out, this is a problem in newer Hondas, which Marco informed me of. He refilled my freon, which will temporarily fix my air conditioning, and told me that there is almost definitely a leak due to manufacturer defect and to check with them. Turns out, there is a class-action lawsuit against Honda for this defect (I think it's 2015-2017 civics, but don't quote me on that) and they will fix it for free. Lynn's auto air was a place that we found online that had great reviews and it didn't disappoint. I had my 2015 Nissan Rogue AC just randomly stop working, a rare thing for a newer car that I keep up with all it maintenance. So, we went to Lynn's and they quickly checked out my vehicle gave a great price and had the AC up and running same day and I was impressed because we came in and they were super friendly, knowledgeable on breaking down the problem and cost. Marco was great to work with and even recently when I came back in due to a knob issue he helped me again and made the process so smooth and I was out of there in less then 30 minutes. Ridiculous experience! So I took my '87 iroc in for a ac repair (these guys were supposedly the pros at fixing old school car ac's), they didn't get back to me until the next day at closing time and that's only because I called them! So, they end up coming up with an estimate of around $1400, obviously I said no but they still charged me $85 for supposedly "taking a look" at it. A week later I go down the street to a place called Jimmy's that doesn't even specialize in any ac repair but they took a look at it and whatdya know; they said the lines just needed to be flushed out a few times and it needed a ac refill! Ended up paying $300 total for everything (over $1000 less than their estimate!). I came to the conclusion this is a little scam they got going on, they give you a sky all estimate on your car just to get a free $85 from you! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CLOWNS WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

Called on a Thursday asking if they do appointments and they said it's first come first serve. So I asked what time they open Friday they said 8AM. I pull up to the parking lot at 7:50AM on Friday, the door to the service area was already open and there were at least 5 cars accepted. They asked if I was going to leave my car and when I said no they said it was at least a 3-hour wait. Sucks. I'm a mom on-the-go, work nights, and with an A/C that stopped working abruptly in the summer. The least you can do is use your words and tell me your doors open before your reported business hours. read more

My blower for my air conditioner and heater stopped working for my Ford truck. I took it in on Friday and they checked it out. They told me that i would probably need a new blower and gave me an estimate. They also said that it could be a part that is under the dashboard and would cost a lot more because of the labor to get to it. They ordered the part and my truck was fixed on Monday, below half the cost of the estimate because they found out that it was not the blower but a transformer that cost less. They only charged me the less amount. I highly recommend Lynn'. They know what they are doing and are honest. read more

One day, as I'm heading to work, my AC just stops. No air. No sound. Nothing. The weather had not been very warm, so this was something I could put off for a bit. Flash to today, before temperatures get too hot, that I brought my car in to Lynn's. Going solely based on yelp reviews, I figured that this would be the best place to fix my AC. They didn't mess around or okey doke me right from the start. They took my car in, said it would take hours to work, and left me on my way. Once they found that my AC motor was finished and needed to be replaced, I was notified and given a quote. Way less than anyplace else. I authorized the work, waited patiently, and by close of business I had my car back with a fully working AC. A bit of warning: this place does get a lot of people so get there early and be prepared for it to take awhile. Preferably have someone pick you up or drop you off. But they were honest, straightforward, and explained exactly what they repaired. Their work is also guaranteed for one full year, and the price I received was reasonable. At least, that's how I felt for the work done. Will definitely recommend if you need any AC work completed. read more
