I went with a few people from my softball team on a chilly Saturday morning to take a few practice swings, and it was a great spot for that- it wasn't busy at all, and we had both the cages to ourselves. The machine that "pitches" the balls is the same one since they opened, it seems, and it works okay at times. This is my favorite batting cage in the area, as it's the only one I know of that's outside. There was only two cages that were softball, but they also have baseball and fast pitch softball. I've never been to the driving range or putt putt portion, this is just for the batting cages alone. read more

The mats are worn, the "greens" on the putting are covered in debris, worn down, and for $13+ a person, maintenance would be a plus. The clientele also leaves a lot to be desired. You could practice your shots, you can play putt-putt golf, or try the batting cages. Went for the batting cages for fast pitch softball and we just should have stayed home. It cost us $16 for 80 pitches. The first machine we used was shooting them in the sky, literally over our head. Went in and told the girl at the front counter/asked if they could be adjusted. She said no and handed me another token for the one we lost. Second batting cage was so far in the opposite batters box I had to stand on the plate then all the sudden the machine threw inside and I got hit so we moved to the next machine. Third machine are our token :-). 4th and finally machine was okay. Pitches were low then outside then inside then barely coming out of the machine then two came at at one time. It is just a hot mess there. I would not suggest wasting your time or money. We would have had more fun doing soft toss in the backyard. read more

Dreary Saturday afternoon at the batting cage(s) with my youngest son. Worn street sign and parking lot makes you question if it's even in operation but once onsite, follow the path to the clubhouse and you're fine. Staff member at the counter was friendly. Cages are token operated: 1 @ $2.50 gets 20 pitches with tiered discounts/incentives for bulk token purchases. Coaches that bring their team get $25 off the 100 token punchcard! Cash and credit accepted. Back outside, there are 6 side by side fenced/covered cages, all with dual baseball and softball pitching machines, each set to different pitch speeds (slow, medium, fast, very fast). Check the cage sign to confirm. Helmets required when batting, so BRING YOUR OWN GEAR! Their loaners are sad and worn; over half of the bats were bent. Besides, who pays to put on a community helmet that looks like it was a crash test dummies in a previous life? #justsayno. Benches available behind cages for spectators, also under covering. This was my 8 year old's first time at a real batting cage. Medium speed humbled him at first; took him 2 tokens to even make contact. After shaking off the frustration, he ended up learning the timing (when to load and swing) and enjoying himself, constantly asking for "1 more token." 280 pitches later...but hey, I'll take this over Chuck-E-Cheese ANY day. If you need to improve your driving game for golf this place is WAY cheaper than Top golf. They have a limited number of automatic feeders btw. The putting greens are fun but basic. The batting cages are fun as well and it's hit or miss whether they will be feeding correctly. We went here because it is close and I haven't been mini golfing in a while. It isn't bad but it does need some work. It's not like some of these places that have obstacles to putt around. I think each hole needs to be redone and a tee spot added. Every green seemed to have two holes so you didn't know which to use. I would go back again, if they did work on the holes first. read more

What a fun time! Located on holland road, this is a great and convenient place to take the family. Staff is welcoming and friendly and answer all questions with patience. It's really clean cut. You have putt putt, driving range and batting cages. Prices are clearly listed up front and staff, again, will answer any questions. We've gone twice in the last week alone due to the weather allowing it. Putt putt was so fun! An 18 hole course took us about an hour and a half. My little ones had a great time. They have several sizes of clubs to match everyone's height and preference. The driving range is also very fun!! My family and 4 year olds had a blast here. Everything is old and you can tell by just looking at it. But don't let that stop you from having a great family day! I came here with my teenage niece and nephew to burn off some energy and have a little fun. Both of them are on their softball teams, so we headed over to the batting cages. They have everything you'll you need except batting gloves. Which I would strongly recommend as my very sensitive fingers were unhappy with the vibration from a few hits. The batting cages offer both softball pitches and baseball pitches. Fast, medium or slow. The fast is FAST. I think one token gets you 20 pitches and that's plenty. They are usually over the plate or very close to it. Once you've seen two or three, you can get an idea how much time you have - the ball drops into the pitcher and then it's thrown to you. Easy. Tips: Always wear a helmet. If you're going to take pictures of your friends, expect a foul ball to hit the fence right in front of you so give it a few inches of slack. If you have them, bring gloves. The vibration of an aluminum bat from certain hits is a thing. Have fun! read more

My son and I have enjoyed Lynnhaven Golf Park the last few years. There is no where else that I am aware of that you can get the trifecta of mini golf, batting cages and driving range all in one location. This uniqueness alone makes it a draw. The down side is that the property has steadily declined to the point where I can no longer consider it on par, no pun intended. The golf park is located off of a main drag and seems odd on Holland Rd. However, with as much land that would be needed for the driving range in the city I suppose you could call it convenient that it's not on the perimeter of town. Signage is good, but with huge shrubs around it you could easily drive by if your not watching closely. I would consider the parking lot adequate, but you would almost swear the business was not in operation by looking at it. The pavement has not had a coat of black top on it in years now. Weeds are growing every where and litter is present. As a matter of fact when I parked most recently there were broken beer bottles. I did alert staff about the glass and they did get it cleaned up. After parking you walk up to a wood decking entrance. A water feature is on your right as you enter and looked swampy with weeds around it and not maintained. The building that houses the check in is possibly a modular with vinyl siding. This where were you will pay, get your ball/club for mini golf and get a snack. The snack area is extremely modest, almost embarrassing. An ice cream cooler is also present. They also have some clubs available for the driving range. However, they currently do not supply an actual driving club because they have all be stolen according to staff. They also have a large table, possibly for group functions. Outside of the building and prior to the driving range are lots of wooden picnic tables for groups. Both front and back decks off the building have medal tables. The steel tables are in poor condition and rusty. The younger man at the counter on my last visit did not appear really into his job. The other younger man appeared to be kind of a grounds person and was the one that cleaned up the glass. They have different kinds of pricing depending on what your wanting to do. But they do not have a package deal for all three. I have always found value in their services for what you get. Let me go through each area since my son and I did do all three. Mini Golf - This is in the front of the park and unfortunately is the most neglected area of the business. It really is bad with medal trash cans bent over, cement ponds empty and neglected. Some of the water features were swampy and filled with litter . Good luck on finding your way around, the number markers are mostly warn off. The very front water features are maintained due to the fact it is visible from the road I suppose. Trash was pretty much every where. Batting Cages - They offer bats and helmets, but recommend you bring your own. They have little to choose from and none for youth at all. There are heaters above for cooler weather which is nice. Offered is baseball and softball at different speeds. You need to purchase tokens inside. My son enjoyed this, but does not have his own bat and helmet. I find this is something that should be supplied and mentioned it to the staff. They again brought up things walking out and too expensive to keep replacing. Driving Range - As I mentioned they do not having driving clubs, so prepare to bring your own which I am sure most do. This area also has heaters so the range is comfortable during cooler weather. The driving range also requires tokens to obtain the golf balls from the machine. The larger amount of balls is a great value. The driving range pad is adequate, but has been better in the past. Compare a 2010 pic and mine taken recently. You will see a better pad and the range is in much worse shape with the grass all gone and now just dirt. If none of the areas of my concern bother you then your in great shape. However, I have now found this business has deteriorated to the point where I am not interested in patronizing them myself. I know this is a disappointment to my son and I feel bad about this. Come here at your own risk, I'm done. read more

Aside from the terrible pull-in off Holland Road (it's buried behind a storage place and you can't see the turn-in until you are RIGHT on top of it going 50 mph with people nearly rear-ending you as you try to slow down and pull-in, this place was a surprise. I'd say I've probably driven past this about 300 times and never had any idea it was here. I was invited over to hit a few golf balls on the driving range by an out-of-town friend from college so I met him over here after work last week. The prices are very reasonable. They have a batting cage area, a small putt-putt course that looked decent, and you can purchase a large amount of golf balls in 3 different sized baskets to hit on the range for like $10. Which is like 150 balls or something so it's A LOT. Nothing spectacular here but it was nice enough, the bathrooms were fairly clean, the kid behind the counter was polite, plenty of parking, etc. read more

My family has done many of the kids birthday parties here in the past years but this place has been really a disappointment lately and been going downhill. The place is outdated and nothing spectacular. The inside needs some upgrading and it's time to definitely change the 80's arcade games to newer ones now. The golf range is ok but there's really no separation of the guests. They do a good job cleaning up the balls in the field. The batting range is cool, I think that's the best activity on the premises. The mini golf is basic, easy for 3 years old to do. As mentioned, I was here for a birthday party and our tent and bench was not even set up! It was hot and sunny but as April showers go, the dark cloud was rolling in. We had to move benches to the designated space (like I said, we had so many birthday parties here we know where to set it up) because the staff didn't bother to do it before our party started. All the staff at the park were like high school kids that lacked customer service or any problem solving skills. I think this has officially been our last party here. read more

I'm honestly amazed at the dearth of batting cages in the Hampton Roads region. I had to drive an hour from Newport News to Lynnhaven to come here. I went to use the batting cages to get ready for adult softball season. I got 4 tokens (20 pitches each) for $9, pretty good value. The issue was I tried three different cages before I could find a machine that actually worked. The staff was very welcoming and gave me a replacement token when one of the machines ate one of them. I couldn't find a marked restroom, since I really needed to wash up after the cages though. read more

Yes, the place is a bit run down, but seeing families here with smiles on their faces means the meat and potatoes of the establishment is where it needs to be! The customer service was superb! The batting cage ball machine does have some problems, but the staff handled it quick and without a problem, they were courteous every time! The mini golf isn't too flashy, but still a popular attraction. I was very impressed with the hours. During the hot summer days, coming by here at night is much better! Fair prices from what I'm used to. $2 for 20 hits. Better deal for $10. Driving range balls where decent as well. Not sure on the mini golf cost. It's been several years since I visited this miniature golf course so I wasn't sure what to expect this afternoon but I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised just how inexpensive it still is, especially during peak season. My daughter and I played for only $14 - that's a bargain. The parking lot was fairly empty and that made me happy. I'm not a big fan of crowds and that's one of the reasons we chose to go here rather than the miniature golf courses at the oceanfront. I also noticed that they cut down the bushes that were blocking the course from the road so it was very easy to find this time. The gentleman that greeted us was friendly and gave us a quick run through of where everything was and said we should let him know if we needed anything further. The deck outside the building looked brand new and the landscaping was nice. Nothing overly fancy, just some hanging baskets with fresh flowers, lots of reeds around the course and blue colored water that ran through the park with a couple water fountains and a waterfall. As we played through the course, we noticed a foul smell that came from stagnant water in the woods beside the park (maybe?) but it didn't effect the fun we had while we played and it didn't last long. Was it pristine? No. There were some water bottles laying around the course and while it would've been nice to see them picked up, it wasn't that bad. There were plenty of garbage cans available so I'm not sure why people felt the need to just leave them behind instead of throwing them out where they belonged. The course itself was maintained, the grass was cut and most of the weeds were pulled. There were some here and there but overall, it looked good. The holes themselves were a bit weather worn but it didn't detract from our game play. We had a great time and we will go back. read more

Love coming here with my boys to practice in the batting cages. The machines are old but work for the most part and staff is very helpful when there are issues. The cages have various pitch speeds for baseball and softball. I usually buy the groupon and it's worth the deal. I haven't been on their putt putt course in years so I wont comment on that other than it looks nicer than some years back. Mini golf course needs a lot of work! Many holes had aspects that wouldn't work. Broken holes and broken water features. The landscaping was very overgrown and blocking part of the course. If you want to drive some golf balls in a rundown driving range this place is for you. The golf balls looked like they have been sitting in dirty toilet water for days. The netting around the course is falling apart. After a rainy day, you will see large puddles of water. If you want to practice driving balls it shouldn't matter how it looks but this place definitely needs a remodel. Fairly descent place to practice at the driving range. You got a bunch of bays under a shed, grass to hit from. One of the better features are the power Tee mats. They should put distance signs for seeing your hit Distance. Great place to bring the kids for putting & baseball/softball practice. read more

Years ago, I used to go there a lot for their driving range. Since Topgolf opened, I would no longer consider them for this option. You can hit off of mats and/or grass so that is a nice feature of this park. I remember the golf balls being pretty beat up when I practiced there. They do have a putt putt course but I can't remember anything memorable about it. No crazy holes or clown mouths that I can think of. So why did I go recently? The batting cage! Yes, I was a total embarrassment to myself but it was nice swinging a baseball bat after so many years. They do provide helmets. There weren't many bats to choose from and I felt like I was using a kids bat (the only option I saw). They do offer various pitch speeds (slow, medium, and fast). Yeah, I had to keep it slow so I can make contact 2/3 of the time. My buddy and I each had 100 pitches (20 at at time) and it cost us some $16. It was a nice way to kill an hour on a beautiful Sunday in February. I look forward to going back to work on connecting with 30 mph lobs. read more

This place is in disrepair. We played putt putt & several holes had duct tape on them. The only obstacles were landscaping rocks & a scummy water feature. And the music was blaring so loud that we had to yell to hear each other over it -- plus it was uncensored so our 9 & 5 year olds got to hear all the cussing and sexual content they miss on the radio. Was told by a guy it is open until 9pm every day as they switched to summer hours. But each day they start shutting down where you can't get a bucket of balls by like 8:15pm. Then a kid working there tells me they are only open until 8pm. Well, I trust the older guy more, and considering it says hours on Apple maps has it 9pm weekdays and 10pm Friday/Saturday. So which is it? I get off late from work and arrive at like 8:20 which is plenty of time for me to hit at least a medium if not large bucket of balls. It seems like the kids just want to get off work early so they start shutting down early. But that's losing money for you. Do the math - just myself - 300 days a year for a medium bucket at $11.50 is $3450/yr you're missing out on because of what appears to be lazy workers. read more

The course is nice and clean, not super fancy, but we like it. It is nice that the kids can do the batting cages too. They have sodas and snacks for sale as well. This place has really gone down the drain in the last 8-10 years. It doesn't look like there has been any noticeable upkeep and the staff of young kids are unprofessional and rude. If it wasn't for the synthetic mats and the fact that the driving range is lit at night (only a couple of ranges in vb are lit) then I doubt ANYONE would come. The range balls might as well be a bucket of rocks. The personal heating devices above the driving range mats are all shot so that perk is long gone. Rarely are the flags standing on the designated greens. I can not review the batting cages or the putt putt greens because I don't use them. AVOID this establishment! The machines were broken. Was given major attitude when a refund was requested. Was told I needed to RESPECT the attendant behind the counter. He "is a man!" He "graduated High School and he is a MAN and SHOULD be RESPECTED!" Is this guy kidding?? I felt physically threatened by 2 different employees! I'm there with my kids and all I wanted was a refund. Let me start off by saying that I live North of the 64 bridge and this is the closest batting cages to me. Just when we thought there were, gasp, no batting cages in Hampton Road, we found this place and we were ecstatic. 1 token is $1.75 and 6 is $10.00. There is a locker for bats and helmets (not exactly sanitary but hey who cares). We went on a Saturday night, close to 7PM and found it full of families and small children. Once they cleared out, we were able to bat at our leisure. Overall this is a good place and if it was closer to me, i'd go every week. read more

I've only used the miniature golf course and batting cages. Both weren't bad for the price, but you get what you pay for. The mini golf course needs extreme maintenance and isn't that challenging. Half of the water hazards don't work properly. The batting cages are mediocre. If you bring your own gear it might not be as bad. They also have a small number of arcade games inside along with the classic Mortal Kombat. I'm not sure how that's in a place that looks like it would support a small child's birthday but I guess it attracts the teenage crowd. I still had a blast with my friends there!
