We showed up at 650 and the gates were locked, happened to run into a maintenance guy who said he was told the course wasn't opening til 9 and he couldn't let anyone in. Didn't say why or if there was a last minute issue, just "he was told that, sorry" No call or note or anything to save us the commute.. luckily we ended up going to riverfront and they were able to get us in- I'd say if you're looking to play in Suffolk just hit up River front or Suffolk golf course. I recall one of the holes being just off Weyland Road and if you're not careful, and we weren't, you could hit into a car driving by. Glad that never happened to us! Since the location is out of the way, the restaurant being open to the public as a regular restaurant didn't work out but now it is open for special events (you can find them on their website or Facebook page), parties or weddings. I miss being able to just go there for dinner, enjoy the view and the beautiful house but understand why they had to change the operation. The food is worth the price, the staff is friendly and they are happy to show off the restaurant and allow you to walk around and check it out.

I don't know what they charge for functions there, but I thought that maybe they would have improved the surroundings a bit more to accommodate the status of the Obici House, the surrounding out buildings, clubhouse, 18th hole and driving range. It looks like they did the bare minimum to the house. I don't want to tarnish this review too much since I haven't been there for an official event within the last year. I noticed that they are having an open house soon and I plan to check it out and update my review. I would recommend that if the price seems to high for your event, then pass on Obici House until you start seeing better reviews on the service and food.

The greens keeper staff were out collecting aeration plugs and keeping the course in great condition throughout the day. The course itself has some very challenging holes. Many par 4's and par 5's have greenside bunkers making bad approach shots punishable. There are some water hazards but most don't come into play and add to the scenic beauty. Pro staff were friendly and the cafeteria was welcoming. Had a cheeseburger after my round. Was so good. Cypress Creek Golfer Club is definitely a hidden gem. Mid week mornings is just over $62 and worth it.
