Motor World reached out to me via email with a code for 20% off. I got extremely excited and told the kids I could finally take them. Unfortunately, we have been struggling financially the past couple years and it's just not something I could've done at regular price; they've been wanting to go for years. I went to put in my credit card and it instantly said it was the wrong address connected with it. I checked multiple times to make sure it was correct so then I was concerned that my card was declining and called my bank right away. They said it definitely was not on my end. My card was fine so I Transferred the total amount of the sale price to both my cash app and Venmo cards trying both of them as well... It still would not go through. So I called motor world and they told me someone would get back to me which they never did. So then I wrote an email explaining the situation and how I'm not wanting anything crazy just the advertise price THEY emailed ME. I was responded to with an email back basically saying they can't honor sale promos in person or over the phone. It has to be done online, But it certainly was not a scam. Then they continue to tell me how they can can't help me and be sure to look out for more sales on social media. It was almost comical. If you reach out to customers with a promo code, And for whatever reason it's not working on the company's end... The price should still be honored. Took the family this week while on a VA Beach vacay. The reviews looked promising but turns out it looked like a ghost town that needed a HUGE renovation. There were very few guests and the price was pretty expensive for the small experience. We ended up choosing not to do the 3hr wristband for $70 (couldn't see spending that amount of time here) but did enjoy the quick trip around the half mile track. read more

Every time I'm in the VA Beach area, I visit Motor World. It's usually a fun activity for my family. This time around the employees weren't at their posts. And when I asked if a track was open the employee was disinterested & mad that I asked. I won't visit again. read more

The tracks in general seem to be okay. However, the Road Racer is not worth it. You are stopped after every lap to show a wrist band or give a ticket. Just pay a price to race the track for a certain amount of time. Waste of money. read more

We had a BLAST. But they need to clean up the rides that are broken down. Like the slimy water rides. That should bring them way down but we had so much fun I had to give a 4 star. Maybe they will make some clean up improvements and get a 5 star review From 15 to 52. Those were the ages in our group. Had a great time. We bought the 3 hour wristbands. Thought that was the best deal for the day. You can ride as many times any of the race tracks that you can in 3 hours. A bit pricey too. We bought this for my nephew that turned 15. He loved it!!!. It was his first time and my 52 year old husbands first time ever in go carts. It was a Blast just watching them. It is free to watch. Best deal at the concession stand is the collector cup you can refill for a dollar. My husband and I share a drink. You get thirsty driving and running from track to track. I refilled it a couple of times and that way when they wanted drinks I was holding them as they drove. We did not waist any time. They would take a couple of sips and Off to the RACES they went. Fun for all ages. They have different courses for different age groups. Plenty of race tracks to choose from. There are different go carts for each race track.. If one was too busy we just ran over to another one. Everything was in close proximity. We only waited in line one time and that was for the big long race track. They also had plenty of go carts running. If one flubbed out the staff was quick to help too. Staff was friendly. They even moved over so I could get a couple of great pictures. That were very kind. Mini golf only: we wanted to checked out motorworld for my fiancé to do some go Karting. Unfortunately he was to big so we decided to play mini golf instead. The have 2 different courses (one easy and one hard) that are a total blast to play. Especially going through the cave and over the pirate ship. Call me Karen. COMPLETE WASTE. Have Low expectations. (Exception) The two mini golf courses- pretty complex fun course, filled with hills. Price wise- the mini golf is worth the 26$ for two- when picking to 36 hole course. The upkeep of this place is little to none, so be sure to bring soap and what not because the bathrooms may as well been a portable bathroom. The flooring for minig is raggedy, the balls are rolling in mud and grass because of the poor upkeep. As for customer service. Ashton was the cashier for my husband and, I in ticket booth for Euro Track & MiniG. She treated us as if we were a huge inconvenience from her being on her phone the entire interaction. Not sure where any customer service was. The place overall is completely run down. Well taking part on the EuroTrack, the karts are old and stiff. When I crashed due to it- after paying over 30$ for two races- I was not offered a refund or allowed to continue to race. read more

The only reason why this place gets 1 star is because I wanted to write this review. I am new to the Virginia area so I don't know how long this place has been open for but by the looks of it it's been here for decades. I think it is a fun concept but it definitely needs upgrades and maintenance. I rode one of the tracks and the kart was so unsafe, like if your feet aren't on the pedals they will definitely be on the pavement. The bathroom was disgusting! Toilet paper every where! And just overall it doesn't look clean or aesthetically pleasing. They need to renovate their karts too. Just not worth the trip or money. read more

Great place for a few hours of fun! Yes it's got some age to it but personally I think that's part of the charm.

We had so much fun. Yes it's a bit old and run down but OMG was it a mecca for my middle schoolers to try their hand at cart racing. I can't believe how big it is and how many different tracks there are. We did the 2x 5 races for a set price and that was more than enough to have fun for the whole family. Each track was a bit different with different layouts and cars had different speeds, etc. I was a kid in a candy store for my kids who had a blast. Made a great experience for our first vacation of the post covid time. Great place to just hang out. Easy to find with plenty of parking though I know I was going in the off season. The go karts are really fun and all, but expect nothing less of your genitals and your clothes to be soaked with gas throughout your experience because I suppose they do not maintain their go karts. Paid over $60 for 2 people, for us both to be soaked with gas on 2 different go karts. The manager only decided it was worth an $18 refund total. I am now going to have to buy new clothes to continue my date night, and have my car detailed because the gas has now soaked into my seats from my shorts and the smell is unbearable. Not only was the go kart experience less than ideal, the posted covid protocols for the business were not being upheld by staff, or other customers. The manager that issued the refund, was not wearing her mask properly, and also mentioned she was not fully vaccinated. There was a total of 9 people in a little 12 x 12 Home Depot shed at once. Now aside from the negative, if all the issues were addressed, I'm sure this place would be absolutely spectacular. read more

It was a hot day. So, I decided not to follow my teenage son around this time. I sat on a bench away from the tracks. We have been here several times and my son has loved it. Due to an incident that occurred today, we will not be going anymore once our tickets are used up because we had already paid for them. He came to me and he said, "I want to go home. I got kicked out of the track (the eight track), and the guy told me not to come back. Do not come back." So, I asked my son what happened. He then told me about the ordeal. What he was accused of doing did not sound like him at all. My husband has ridden gocarts on the same tracks as my son many times, and he can attest to the fact that my son doesn't go around ramming into people. I am all for discipline, but I will stand up for my kids if things do not sound right. My son does not and has never just hit a bunch of cars just because he feels like it. I was not there, but it sounded like these were little tiny kids. From the sound of it, my son said that it looked like they weren't even tall enough to get on the ride. It sounded like the grandmas were getting after my son and told the workers. Then one worker targeted my son and believed every word that the grandmas had said. It is a racetrack people. We have never had this issue before. He has never ran into somebody purposefully. Besides this, I have been ran into several times before. It's a race track. We will not be giving our business to this company ever again. When I asked for the manager, the guy who kicked my son off the eight track just kind of shrugged his shoulder and said, "I don't think there is one. I don't know." I asked for a video of the situation. He said that he did not think there was a video. Thankfully, there were two other guys standing behind the worker that actually called the manager on the walkie-talkie. I got to talk to the manager and the manager was very understanding; however, the manager did very little about the situation. He talked to his worker; however, my son was still banned from riding on the eight track. It is not right that my son was targeted just because young kids were going slow and that he got blamed that he was hitting them. read more

I completely understand the poor ratings from others as they are completely valid. Yes the tickets were overpriced. Yes they were understaffed. Yes the karts need maintenance. And yes there were tons of bees CONSTANTLY harassing me and my kids. I have a tall 5yo at ~48" and I got him the Rookie wristband. Outside of kiddieland, there was only two tracks he was able to drive by himself, and they were both for very small children. If he wanted to go on any of the other tracks, I had to drive him. I don't think this is sufficiently explained on their website. He definitely could have handled himself on a couple of the "Pro" tracks. Having a young child who is tall was a disadvantage at Motor World. I advise against bringing young kids here until they can drive all of the tracks. My 9yo was able to drive everything on his own, so we didn't have any problems with him. The two two-seater karts I drove were incredibly difficult to steer. I'm a big guy, and I consider myself to be fairly strong, so I don't see how a smaller person would be able to handle it. On the plus side, we arrived shortly after they opened and for a while were nearly the only ones there. We stopped in Kiddieland first, and a nice young man basically acted as our personal tour guide taking us from ride to ride and making sure my kids had a good time. He used his personal hoodie to soak up rainwater that had collected in the seat of one of the karts. If I carried cash, I would have tipped him, but I did thank him and compliment him to his manager - hopefully he gets a raise or something out of it. read more

My son had been begging me to take him to Motorworld for years. I had always told him that some day we will. Actually Dad just wanted to keep him away from the expensive Go Karts. Well that someday was last week and I long thought that MW possibly had the best mini golf in Virginia Beach. Parking is in a gravel lot and extremely convenient to both golf and the karts. I did not see any debris in the parking lot. We proceeded to the mini golf which is on the same side as the lot. A nice check in hut called Shipwreck Golf is where you pay, get your club, score card and pencil. The attendant will give you tokens once you pay to get your balls out of one of the eight machines that use to be candy/toy machines. The cost was $9.44 for 18 holes, or $11.54 for 36... don't ask me how they came up with this odd number pricing. We grabbed our putters and found them extremely worn, all of them. We were hitting up the place early, around 10 AM and no one was around, so I elected to buy the 36 hold package. To my knowledge there was no discounts for kids, seniors etc. The young woman that assisted us was nice enough, but spoke NO ENGLISH, completely broken English. I did get out of her that she is from Turkey. I was pretty ticked that she could not answer my questions. I got the tokens for the ball machine and all worked but one that was stripped out, it of course was my favorite color of blue...geez! The most challenging course is the Captain's Course. Your allowed to choose either one if doing a 36, or 18. The course looked pretty amazing and spacious, we were both excited to get started. As we traveled the course litter was popping up every where which is a huge pet peeve of mine. They had trash buckets around which is even more disturbing. However, what show total lack of upkeep to me is this trash was obviously from the night before, that says it all to me. There was also an area on a bridge that had a safety issue, a board was missing and this did not just happen. Areas needed to be painted, cleaned and in general maintained. When getting close enough to there huge Tiki man that sets up front in the waterfall I could see serious aging and decay. The real grass needed to be mowed and not in great shape. Let's talk about the course itself. It was a lot of fun and one of the more challenging that I have ever done. I really enjoyed myself and the fact no one was around made it even better. Our big gripe was the fact the ball kept bouncing out of the hole, seriously the holes were like spring loaded or something. Well when a ball goes in the hole, it's over and scored in my opinion. At the last hole on 18 of Captains it is suppose to flush down into a holding bin, but it would not. My guess is the bucket underneath it needed to be emptied. Again, with staff not taking care of duties at closing. Elderly and those that have issues with steps take notice. There are a lot of hills and steps, it is an enormous course if doing all 36. There appears to be an event area with picnic tables just off the side. Well if this is really an event area I cannot believe it. To me it is a medal canopy that was used to park Go Karts at one time. That sucker would be so HOT in the Summer and it's dark under there too. Steps need to be taken to spend money in the off season to bring this up to snuff. Interestingly enough MW website list Shipwreck Golf as a "newly renovated 36 hole course". That my folks is false advertisement in it's purest form. I would definitely come back, but hope some remedies are addressed in the near future. read more

I took my brothers and my son here to have some thrilling fun. This place kinda looks run down. The arcade smelt kinda musty and moldy. My son is two years old, and my youngest brother is 8. They wanted to do the little rides in the kid section, but there was literally only one person there. We had to keep waiting for him to be done with other people. 30 minutes would pass and I only got these kids on two rides. My other brother and I did some of the regular go cart rides. Some were fun, but some of these carts are crap...I literally had to use all the strength I had to turn the steering wheel. I understand its not power steering, but umm...i used my whole body weight to turn this wheel and that barely did it. I asked the guy who was working why its like that. He said some of them are like that and some are not. Well they need some maintenance. This place is pricey for what it is. I would not take my family here again. This place is crap. read more

I love going to Motorworld to play mini golf - they have a great mini golf course which has two different courses and you can choose to do either 18 or 36 holes and do both. It's a lot of fun and it has a pirate ship, waterfalls, and various difficulties throughout. It's a lot of fun, never overly crowded and is well-kept and clean. They have go-karts and arcade games as well as a paintball area if I remember correctly but I have only ever played mini golf there. read more

Me and my girlfriend were looking for something fun to do and decided to check out Motor World. It was a very cloudy day so the place was mostly empty. It does have a decent amount of different tracks but the facilities and tracks were pretty run down. The bumper boats are out of order and a real eyesore with disgusting water just sitting there for who knows how long. The prices are kind of high, we opted for 5 laps plus 1 bonus lap for $11 each. The go karts are very old and quite hard to steer. It was fun overall, but I wish they were in better condition. It is an okay place to visit for a little bit of excitement but I don't think you could spend all day there because it gets boring quick. read more

I really love car racing and that why I went in there today, the entrance is clear and the parking is also big. You could park I'm a random spots. They dont have much but what they have is enough, I really enjoyed the car racing only thing is i wish if it could have been longer. It was not even 5 minutes. I diligently check reviews before I purchase items, even if it something off Amazon. For the first time in my life, I did not. And I'm really kicking myself in the butt. This is, first of all the nastiest place I believe I have ever used the restroom. The toilet appeared to be falling through and nasty urine water all over. I literally washed my shoes after leaving because it was so gross to walk on the floor. Next, customer service- wow! The young lady working the gate informed me I would have to wait several minutes as she had only been there three weeks and could not upgrade my sons band. No problem! She upgraded his band above 48 inches after checking him. However, he did not get to ride a single ride even after the upgrade which was 27 more. He was devastated. The whole track needs to be consistent. I basically gave away 27 dollars. The tropical treats had a red headed guy working there. I told him about some wires and he started laughing at me. Then, even though he laughed at me I gave him a dollar. He, once again said the tip jars right in front of you and laughed. So rude!! The water in the bumper boats, oh my!!! You better hope that you aren't going to fall out of them because it's awful!! Wow!! Save your money! This place is a waste. They make too much money to not have updates. We have an excellent go kart track back in Kentucky. I am very disappointed as a visitor on vacay! read more

My family and I had a wonderful recent experience at MW. Yes, the place, rides, carts are old, but all that did not get in the way of my kids having an absolutely amazing time. They were very short staffed and yet every single individual working there had a big smile on their faces and a very positive attitude. Very upset and unsatisfied customer!!! My wife and I just left here very angry. We took our 3 year old son here to enjoy the little kids electric cars. They sold us a $5 ticket, but could not locate a charged battery. My son ended up leaving in tears. After 40 mins of waiting I asked for a refund, and guess what, they have a no refund policy. After talking with a manager named Jonna (who looked to be about 17 herself), she offered me another ticket to ride one of the two rickety-looking carnival rides that they have at the other end of the park. I explained to her that we had no desire to have our son on one of these rides and tried to explain that taking money for an advertised amusement that they should have known would not work would be considered stealing in my book. It is a shame that places like these still exist. The lack of compassion and management is despicable. So thank you, Motor World, for stealing my money, making my 3 year old cry, and leaving a bad taste in our mouths at the end of our vacation. I would suggest you stay away from this place if you have kids or value safety or cleanliness. read more

Motor Work is great! The best time to go is after 7 o'clock in the evening when it is less crowded and hopefully a cool evening. After 715 you can buy the twilight package for $55 per person You can drive any track as many times as you want until closing at 10 pm. ,. I went with my two grandsons, and they raced for two hours until they were exhausted. And for about half the races they were the only two people on the track so they could race each other. My friend and I went for mini-golf. While it was affordable and the 2 courses were pretty fun the number one complaint I have is about safety. I have no idea how this place passed any safety codes. The stairs up and down the holes are extremely uneven, bumpy, and at times VERY steep. They also don't have railings, some just have rope to hold on to. For a place open until midnight there aren't nearly enough lights. At one hole my friend and I joked about being murdered because it was so dark and creepy. But by far the most worrisome aspect was a small bridge over one of the waterfalls that had absolutely nothing on either side to stop someone from falling over. It was only about 2 feet wide and was wet because it had rained earlier. tldr: If you have any sort of mobility issues do not go here. The place needs a huge overhaul in my opinion. read more

Do NOT come here when it's extremely hot or if you do make sure you bring water & plenty of it. They have water at the ice cream parlor stand or at Tropical Treats but they limit you to one 3oz cup of water because they sell Dasani for $2.00 a bottle. There are no water fountains. It's just miserable out here. The admission price to get in & ride is outrageous. I wouldn't pay for this. We were invited to a birthday party & the party attendants were rude. Pathetic disregard for safety. Whatever you do, avoid the "road race" attraction. My sister and I are sitting here with skinned hands covered in bandages. Simply from holding the steering wheel. Those karts are not designed to turn. If you try to steer at all while moving, the kart starts violently shaking up and down. This, plus the fact that you are gripping the rough steering wheel without gloves, means you end up with skin peeled off. read more

If I could give this place a negative store I absolutely would. Came here with a family of 11 people to enjoy ourselves on the go carts for a day. This is by far the biggest disappointment of our entire trip to Virginia Beach. WARNING: OWNED BY A FOREIGN GAS STATION OWNER This is an absolute tourist trap. It is foreign owned and is in the same condition of a gas station on the side of a highway that you are forced to stop at. Wife said girls bathroom had more flies than the portapottie on the beach. FREAKING NASTY!!! Warning: DO NOT USE THE FAMILY TRACK!!!! I warned the staff after my first lap I smelled burning oil and the kart wouldn't go. AFTER 2 laps my kart on the "family track" my kart bogged down and stalled. The staff left me on on the track 3 laps. Finally my brother in law used his kart to push me to the "pit area". The offered me a free ride, however because my entire family wasn't going to ride a 2nd time, I declined to run an entire race while my family watched me drive defective go karts. Alittle pricey! We found discounted passes online for the kids but money well spent! They also offer "twilight passes" an hour or two before close at a discounted rate as well. Our family of five had a great time over the weekend in May. Be sure to call ahead to verify what time they are closing. We assumed it was 10p as reported online but because it wasn't busy they were closing at 8:30p which was COMPLETELY understandable. That being said it wasn't very busy or crowded so we probably rode no less than 20 times in 3 hours. Varying courses and speeds for everyone in the family to enjoy. Our kids are 10, 13, and 18 and had a blast. read more

If you had the best go kart park in the US in 1988 and spent 14 cents on upgrades and maintenance over 32 years, you'd have Motor World.

No worth the price. This park is not maintained well. A lot could be done to improve but it seems they are more concerned with cutting cost, hiring non Americans and just barely getting by. I felt that all parts of the park should have been available for what we paid but is was always a skeleton park when we went. The place is just so poorly manager and mainted. I should take it over and bring it up to speed. I am well capable. read more
