We came…read morein on a busy Saturday afternoon, and even with the crowds, the staff kept everything running smoothly. First off, this place is HUGE. There's truly something for everyone. We started at the bowling alley (our main event), and the lanes were clean, the scoring system was intuitive, and the party host made sure our group was set up and having fun. Despite a lot of guests bowling at once, wait times were reasonable and the lanes had comfortable seating areas for everyone to relax between turns. Apex has a gigantic arcade, axe throwing, bumper cars, an immersive dark ride, escape rooms, high-speed go-kart racing, Hologate VR, laser tag, mini golf, pool tables, a ropes course, and even sports simulators! If you can't find something you enjoy here, it probably doesn't exist. Everything was well-maintained, and the staff at each attraction were friendly and helpful, making sure everyone knew how to play and was having a good time. Food and drinks definitely exceeded my expectations for an entertainment venue. The bars are fully stocked, and the food menu ranges from classic favorites to more upscale options like pizza, burgers, wings, and salads were all fresh and tasty. Our server was attentive, had great recommendations, and was super quick with drink and food orders, which made our party even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a location for a night out with friends, a kids party, or even an adult party ... Apex is your spot.

Our only issue was when we went to the floor with the escape room to purchase tickets the person who helped us let us know what time the next escape and axe throwing session were and then we asked if we could do the minigolf course before the escape room. She said yes and charged us for it. Originally we had asked for 2 separate checks since we were with friends. But she just did it on one check and split the cost. She gave us only on receipt for it. When we went to the mini golf course there was a wait of about 8-9 people just for the first hole because of how over filled it was with kids. Kids just running around everywhere. We went back and just asked for a refund for the mini golf and we would just wait for the escape room since we didn't realize it was that packed with kids in there. We only had 25 minutes to kill and the first hole alone would take us those 25 minutes. The same person did the refund BUT she didn't tell us it would not be a refund but put it on two apex gift cards to use as credit....... She did not communicate this to us at all. She just said here you go and handed us those cards. I asked what is this and she said your refund.... That is not a refund that's like store credit. And we wouldn't have minded that if she just communicated it was non refundable.

When you have a toddler that loves the water, you HAVE to take them to great wolf lodge! We've been…read morehere twice now in the last year. The first time was just a day pass in the afternoon which is a great deal if you don't want to stay the night. And most recently we stayed the night and had a great time! We booked the kid cabin suite which can accommodate up to 7 people but I think realistically and comfortably, it would be 5. It comes with balcony access, a pull out sofa bed, a queen size bed, a bunk bed, a full size bed and one bathroom. The room is fairly spacious but could use either a bigger table and or an addition half bath at least to accommodate up to 7 people. This was great for us as we had 4 adults and one toddler. There are quite a few attractions here besides the water park. They have a pretty extensive arcade, glow in the dark putt, bowling, story time for kids, ropes course, laser tag and multiple restaurants! Obviously their main attraction is their huge indoor water park! They have things for babies to adults to try here! But I would say their main water attractions are geared more for small babies to middle schoolers. There are multiple water slides for all ages and there's a HUGE bucket of water that dumps about 1,000 gallons of water every 5 mins! Pretty cool! We added on the breakfast buffet for which I would highly recommend. This isn't your typical hotel breakfast! Their offerings were pretty vast and even included a MTO omelette station! If you want to entertain your kiddos, look no further than great wolf lodge for all your entertainment needs! SN: everyone gets a wristband to wear which grants you access to the water park BUT you can also use it to charge purchases to the room AND serves as you room key! Pretty cool!!

I'm so, so disappointed. At this price point I was expecting clean rooms at minimum. By the end of…read morethe first day (I'm still here, unfortunately) my feet were filthy. My sheets had dirt or sand on them. The "crafts" for kids, is crayons and a coloring page each time. Everything is so expensive here, that it reminds me of Vegas hotels. A single candy bar was 8.00. The buffet was actually pretty good but the restaurants are awful. Every attraction is designed so it is cost prohibitive unless you spend a ton on unlimited passes. I paid 24.00 to pay one fast round if laser tag with my 2 kids and myself. I called to ask for trash pickup and towels and ai said someone would be up "immediately." An hour later and no one came. I searched the internet for the front desk number (there is no lodge info at all in the rooms) and got voicemail so I left a message. Still waiting to see if they're going to come. Parking is somehow 20.00 a day. We have a handicap placard and there were very, very few handicap spots, we never got one and ended up having to park on the opposite end of the lodge every time, with an Autisic kiddo at risk elopement. The noise. Yes, it's for families. Kids are loud. But, who are these purely that are letting their kids run up and down the hall screaming every night. It's not just the kids, the adults are busy yelling at the kids to slow down. I've gotten so little sleep because it's so loud all the time. I will not be back. It cost my family of 6 far less to rent a 6 bed 4 bath oceanfront house in NC. Oh, and something I saw mentioned a lot- one of our adjoining rooms wasn't ready when we arrived. We arrived at about 4:15 and check in was at 4. It wasn't ready until 5. Not a huge deal for us if everything else had been cool, but it's just another thing in the list I saw mentioned a lot. It gets 2 stars instead of 1 because 1. The staff that I encountered was nice. 2. It's nice to find a place big enough for all of us. 3. The kids like the water park- it's a good size, but not big enough to justify the price.

My cousin was visiting from out of town and he had mentioned it would be cool if there was a ferris wheel near the ocean. The ferris wheel here came to mind. As long as I've lived here I had always passed by it but never rode it. Upon entering my cousin got excited about the (water gun) game. The employee running it was pleasant and we got a bunch of smiles out of him. It was really fun and my cousin won a super cute tiger for a family member of ours. It came with a hefty price tag though. Before we even played I told him he would be better off just buying a stuffed animal in a store. But the prize he was seeking ticked off all the boxes. Plus there's a fun, enjoyable story to tell behind it. It cost $30 total to win. Yeah I know. It actually was truly enjoyable but if he hadn't been visiting I would have never came to check out this Fun Park. After that we rode the ferris wheel which was a good time as well. You are able to see the ocean from it, which was nice. It was great to have a different perspective of VA Beach. Tickets were roughly $6 a piece. Each ride takes a certain number of tickets and you purchase them at the ticket booth right across from it as well for tickets to other rides. You get 3 full rides around on the wheel. We were the only ones on it too. They do accept credit card but they tack on a 3.5 % service charge to do so. We roamed the rest of the park just to check it out. The other rides look pretty beat. It was so quiet in there, for me that's a plus because there were no crowds and it was rather peaceful. However, it was so quiet that when we looked around I didn't notice the ride attendants standing around their station. They looked like permanent fixtures of the rides. It was eerily quiet for a fun park on a September Sunday afternoon. It would've been a perfect backdrop setting for the beginning of a zombie apocalypse movie. It felt like a place where hopes and dreams come to die. What actually brought life to the park were the colorful, beautiful hibiscus flowers dispersed throughout the grounds. We spent roughly 30-45 minutes there. There aren't many rides and they could use some sprucing up. It has potential. It also has a high price point because it's at the oceanfront.

I'd even go as far as saying this is a good place for a date night for young and mature as it is a casual environment and the expectations are overachieving. If you love 80s vibe carnival settings, this carnival is for you. The carnival isn't vast, however, the rides and games are strategically situated in the right places. I normally don't do carnival ferris wheels, however, this ferris wheel was a very good experience and worth it. The wheel circles high enough to get a good high view of the skyline of Virginia Beach at night. The ride and game attendants were also friendly. Overall a good experience.

We did have a 30 minute wait to do the Funhouse so we decided to do the maze first. The maze wasn't very long, honestly probably five minutes or less to go through it, so we basically went back and forth through the maze numerous times to pass the time. I would give the maze a 6/10; it was decently fun, but would've been better if there was just more to it and it was longer. *they take and hold purses/bags with them behind the counter while you're in the maze; you get your purse back before you go upstairs though* As for the Selfie/Funhouse, I definitely loved the concepts/themes in the different rooms and the trippy aspects in each room. I recall there were only 4 rooms and a few decorated/themed walk through halls. I would give it an 8/10; I thought it was pretty cool. Definitely felt like it could've used a few more rooms/interactive areas. For what they provided though, I would say it was a pretty decent experience. You definitely go through the entire thing in about 15-20 minutes, so just like the maze, not very long; really just in and out. After doing it once, I don't see myself going back again unless they were to add some new aspects to the place. My overall rate of experience : 7/10

I felt at home and with great friends! There were local wineries from all over the state as well as an international area. Food trucks and local vendors were there to give me a break from the delicious tastings. And the live band (didn't catch the name) was amazing and kept the mood up throughout the dreary weather. I'm looking forward to next year's festival and thinking about getting a tent in case of rain again. Overall, glad we took a chance and marking our calendars for the next one!

We opted for the VIP tickets because in my wine expo/tasting experience, it is worth the extra cost. The VIP room had 3 food pairings throughout the event. This is always nice because I always learn something from talking to the wine makers or Sommeliers. For instance, I learned that Riesling and BBQ pairs well together. Mind Blown! But you had to be in the VIP room to try and then you'll see why it works. The VIP room also had unlimited cheese, fruits, and crackers. You can't been that. If you are tasting over 100+ wines you will need all the snacks you can get. If it wren't for the VIP room, you would have had to bring your own snacks OR buy it at the concession stand, which adds up. Needless to say I am always an advocate of going to this things with the VIP tickets or serious coordination with other people to bring your own food and get in on a table. Which is like $400 for 8 people, however if planned accordingly it could be a lot fun. Wine was not the only thing here! They had all sorts of jewelry, chocolates (liquored chocolates!) and Olive Oil tastings. So..if you needed a break from the wine, there were other things to taste. I was so glad to see some of my favorite Wineries there, as well as meet new favorites. Will definitely look for it next year!
