Expensive and run down. Ferris Wheel is the redeeming feature but it was $25 for three of us to go around three times. Nice views but not convinced it's worth that cost. The rest of the rides resemble traveling carnival rides and appear pretty rundown. read more

$40 wrist ban for a child and at least half of the rides were not operating. They didn't mention so many being broke down when I paid full price and didnt want to refund but I told them I would stop payment on the card so they did credit my card. Extremely inconsiderate and not family friendly. read more

Four Stars for the Ferris Wheel & four stars for the employee who was running the water gun race for prizes. They were the saving grace of the park. My cousin was visiting from out of town and he had mentioned it would be cool if there was a ferris wheel near the ocean. The ferris wheel here came to mind. As long as I've lived here I had always passed by it but never rode it. Upon entering my cousin got excited about the (water gun) game. The employee running it was pleasant and we got a bunch of smiles out of him. It was really fun and my cousin won a super cute tiger for a family member of ours. It came with a hefty price tag though. Before we even played I told him he would be better off just buying a stuffed animal in a store. But the prize he was seeking ticked off all the boxes. Plus there's a fun, enjoyable story to tell behind it. It cost $30 total to win. Yeah I know. It actually was truly enjoyable but if he hadn't been visiting I would have never came to check out this Fun Park. After that we rode the ferris wheel which was a good time as well. You are able to see the ocean from it, which was nice. It was great to have a different perspective of VA Beach. Tickets were roughly $6 a piece. Each ride takes a certain number of tickets and you purchase them at the ticket booth right across from it as well for tickets to other rides. You get 3 full rides around on the wheel. We were the only ones on it too. They do accept credit card but they tack on a 3.5 % service charge to do so. We roamed the rest of the park just to check it out. The other rides look pretty beat. It was so quiet in there, for me that's a plus because there were no crowds and it was rather peaceful. However, it was so quiet that when we looked around I didn't notice the ride attendants standing around their station. They looked like permanent fixtures of the rides. It was eerily quiet for a fun park on a September Sunday afternoon. It would've been a perfect backdrop setting for the beginning of a zombie apocalypse movie. It felt like a place where hopes and dreams come to die. What actually brought life to the park were the colorful, beautiful hibiscus flowers dispersed throughout the grounds. We spent roughly 30-45 minutes there. There aren't many rides and they could use some sprucing up. It has potential. It also has a high price point because it's at the oceanfront. read more

For what it's worth, Atlantic Fun Park is a good experience for kids and parents. The rides, treats, and games are just good enough to put a smile on kids faces. I'd even go as far as saying this is a good place for a date night for young and mature as it is a casual environment and the expectations are overachieving. If you love 80s vibe carnival settings, this carnival is for you. The carnival isn't vast, however, the rides and games are strategically situated in the right places. I normally don't do carnival ferris wheels, however, this ferris wheel was a very good experience and worth it. The wheel circles high enough to get a good high view of the skyline of Virginia Beach at night. The ride and game attendants were also friendly. Overall a good experience. read more

This is a fun place to come with your family although I think it is a bit pricey from what I'm used to. The entire park is also a lot smaller than I expected. It was toddler friendly but the rides are lacking a little. They have a few games you can play to win prizes. They have a Ferris Wheel that I enjoyed because you can see the entire boardwalk and it was beautiful. The people who worked there were a hit or miss. Some were friendly/ super nice and some seemed just tired and hot from standing there and operating machines (I get it). Overall it was a chill experience. read more

Fun place for kids and family! But one staff here just turns the whole entire environment down hill. It might not be easy to work at a kids fun park, but if you are in your shift, please show some respect to kids, their parents, your employer as you're representing them, and yourself. How can you complain and give words to the kids and their parents to hear?! And make some nasty facial expressions?! A mom telling her kid that this is going to be the last ride. The staff mumbled "Yea I hope so too." (Roll her eyes). What?! The kids kept pressing on the honk button while playing a car ride. The staff mumbled "Omg! You're giving me a headache! Just stop it!" WHAT?! So kids should go on a ride and just sit there like a rock and not move? We're talking bout 3, 4, 5yr old kids here ok. You don't like your job, quit. You need a break, leave. You just present yourself as an immature employee there. I was so shock at this employee and feel annoyed even seeing her facial expressions and hearing her attitude and words she be saying and mumbled to the kids and their parents. What a disgrace! read more

I think it was pretty expensive for how a few rides that are. You can buy the pass to do all the rides but there's not that many rides. We were on our last ride which was the bumper cars and we had to wait for them to pump up a car. My daughters sat for 10 minutes buckled in their car waiting for the ride to start. It was a little frustrating as it was getting late and we were trying to get home. read more

When we first walked by this park, I honestly did not want to go in. Everything looked run down and it was probably going to cost and arm and a leg for the rides. To my surprise, it was reasonably price specially if you have kids. The all you can ride band was such a great deal for our little ones. They would allow an adult to ride with the child on some of the rides which was awesome! The best part... THERE WAS NO LINE!! every amusement park that we've been to, always had a line and a wait of 10-50 mins. This was amazing! They also have a bathroom which was great. However, we actually had a bad experience with one of the employees managing the ride that had the fire truck that went round and round. One of the kids was honking the fire truck the entire way which was definitely annoying. We apologized and she told us that we couldn't go back on the ride even though we had the unlimited band. Like are you kidding me? You guys put the horn on that thing and expect kids not to touch it? Overall, most employees were nice but there were a few that were definitely high and just hated being there. I would caution families with kids coming here late at night as the streets around Virginia Beach had a different crowd at night which one should be weary of when going back to where you're staying. read more

We took our little one here the weekend after school started. Hardly any people around, no lines for any rides. It costs about $1 or so per ticket. Each ride is different, but usually takes about 3-4 tickets per person per ride. You can purchase tickets at the booths located inside. He rode the ferris wheel and he loved it. They have concession stands throughout selling all types of drinks and yummy snacks. It was pretty fun! read more

Let me just say this, the website and the pamphlets you find is very misleading. The park definitely misinforms their clients. I stumbled upon this place while walking on the Virginia beach Boardwalk. When I saw the entrance that read fun park, I was so excited because I saw the pamphlets regarding the park. On the pamphlet, the park looks packed and huge. The park looks like a place you could spend hours in. The park looks like a place that has a diverse range of rides. However, in reality, the park is old and very small. You can literally spend a good 30 minutes in the park and become extremely bored. You can also see the end of the park from the entrance of the park (when it is not crowed). So you can imagine how small the park really is. I would say go into the park with lower expectations, and you will be excited. I went into the park with very high expectations (due to the misleading pamphlets), and I was pretty bummed. I do have to say, that considering the lack of things to do at Virginia beach, this park is a blast. Whenever I go to Virginia beach, it's suntanning, swimming in the water, ice cream and food. So this park does add an extra pop of fun in the form of old rides and carnival style games. read more

I took my 5 kids to Atlantic Funpark to celebrate my son's 2nd birthday while we're in Virginia Beach. I bought wristbands for all my 5 kids, spent almost $200. Out of nowhere, the sheriff and the manager told my 11 year old daughter that she has to leave because her wristband is invalid, and took her wristband away. While talking to the manager, he accused us of switching wristbands to get on rides. I explained to him that I bought all my kids their own wristbands so it wont make sense for us to take wristbands on and off just to get on rides. The manager realized he's in the wrong and gave my daughter a new wristband. He didn't apologize whatsoever. I felt so small, and the sheriff just stood there listening to the whole conversation between the manager and I. He accused us of something with no proof. And since it's my son's birthday I had taken pictures of all my kids and their wristbands right after we purchased them. We didn't stay at the funpark much longer after that incident, a lot of the ride staff were giving us the "look". i told my kids we're never going back there again. Virginia Beach has been wonderful with the exception of Atlantic Fun Park. read more

This place is overpriced . Very few rides and seemingly arbitrary ride heights. The most confusing/time consuming parts was waiting for them to fully unload the Paratrooper ride before loading anyone else on. One of our kids was only tall enough for that one "big" ride and the loading/unloading took forever. The baby rides which typically toddlers can ride require 36 inches tall. Feels like a big waste of money... read more

Pass this up if you are in VA Beach. It cost my family almost $20 for a family of 4 to ride a Ferris wheel for 5 minutes. It is so tacky and dirty. This place gave me the creeps, not very family friendly. You are better off going to Dave and Buster's 15 minutes away if you are looking for fun and games with your family! read more

Lame. I had no intention of going on the rickety old carnival style rides. However, I was definitely in the mood for some midway games. There were a handful and they were all terrible. They had the game where you throw darts at the balloons - there were maybe 6-8 balloons total on the board and they were all only partially inflated. That's a no win situation. We walked through, in and out in a couple minutes. I actually feel sorry for anyone who spends more than 5 minutes there! read more

Horrible place .. if I could give this dump negative stars it wouldn't be getting the one I have to give ... Rude employees . Honestly awful ... the way they talk to kids . One of the " workers " yelled at my son cuz he moved to another seat ... it was how he spoke to him .. like he was overworked and couldn't take 3sec. To say hey Buddy u can't just switch seats . He was literally rude .. my son was so excited and he took his joy away . This place looks sketchy and it is .. these workers are rude , lazy , disrespectful and disgusting and not only is this establishment filthy , the workers are filthy .. complete trash . The loud crappy music playing that's so loud u can't even have a conversation. I know typical carny workers but they aren't . This place is established no reason they can't get proper staff or make this dump more respectable . The workers are all extremely ghetto .. pants under their ass .. read more

This was the best city Amusement park I went to. The staff were nice and chill and the rides were very safe.

Let's start by the sitting water on one of the kiddie rides it was literally a mini swamp with swarms of mosquitos. The rides are your typical carnival rides, it was very empty for a Saturday afternoon in the beginning of summer. It was like the beginning of a scary movie how empty it was. The rides are ridiculously priced $6 for a ride on the dragon swing thing and $4 for the wheel... a waste read more

Dirty, grungy, outdated, sketchy, and overall perfect if you're into post-apocalyptic dystopian fun! I've been wanting to venture into this venue for a while. I waited until the end of the tourist season (because it seemed logical) and made my way down to Atlantic to see what kind of fun I could find. Upon entry into the park, I noticed several things: The Ferris Wheel I wanted to ride was being repaired. The park employees had no problem being obnoxious (which isn't a big deal for me, just pointing it out). Pretty much everything was dirty or in a state of disrepair (i.e., broken bulbs laying on the ground on the Flying Bob's ride, trash on the ground, Ferris Wheel inoperable). I will say that the guy in the ticket booth was very jovial - and remembered who I was when I came back to ride the freshly repaired wheel of death. After making four or five rotations on said wheel, I decided I'd had enough of the shaking, swaying, and lack of safety (no restraints, no cage, very sketchy doors, etc.) - after flagging down the ride-attendant who was looking the other way with his headphones on, we quickly surveryed the rest of the park. Nobody was riding anything. There were maybe a dozen other potential patrons wandering around aimlessly. It just felt dead... so we left. In fairness, this was off-peak season and during the day. I can't account for the potential of this place humming with life and happiness during different times and seasons. There is a unique vibe here and I'm certain it could be more fun - but I'm all about consistency. read more

This park on the oceanfront in Virginia Beach offers a bit of something for everyone. There are midway games, family and kiddie rides and the things I enjoy the most - the thrill rides. We were down last season at the end of summer and walking the boardwalk in the evening when I saw this ride called the slingshot. As soon as I saw it, I knew I was going to ride it. The ride seats two - you must have two riders. My husband was not up for it, but luckily another gentleman close by was interested and had no one to ride with. They strap you into a seat and then begin tightening an inordinate amount of springs on either side of this harness for two. When they let it go, this ride basically flings you into the air so high I swear you can see all of the beach from every direction. It was quite the rush. The harness bounces for quite awhile and you have the option of swinging and spinning until you hang upside down over the park. Apparently the ride was more than my co-rider expected as he begged and pleaded with me to not swing. The price for this one ride was a bit hefty, $15-$20 as I recall, but what I didn't know is they record the whole ride from beginning to end so before you leave you are directed back to the ticket booth for your memory stick. What a memory it was! Every time I see the look of horror on my co-riders face as they let our harness fly and hear him pleading with me to not swing, I have to smile a bit as all I could do was laugh in pure enjoyment throughout the entire ride. I would definitely do this again! read more

Sub par in terms of size and how many rides they offer. There was basically 12 rides in the whole place. No video games or any of that other stuff. There were a couple other games like the water races and such but they werent appealing. Dont waste your money on the place. read more

We went here with the whole family - from grandma to toddler - and had a great time. There are rides of all shapes and sizes. Individual ticket prices aren't that great , ranging from $3-$5 dependent upon the style of ride and height requirements. I recommend buying one of the wrist bands if you're going to be there for any amount of time. If memory serves, you make your money back (so to speak) after 4 rides, so anything more is "profit". The ferris wheel here affords a great view of VA Beach, the boardwalk area, nearby neighborhoods, folks out on their boats, etc. It's probably about 6 stories tall, and the cars are big enough for 4 people. There's food for sale, and it seemed to be the typical amusement park fare. Unfortunately, we didn't get anything, but it sure smelled good. Convenient location and a la carte options make this a pretty good amusement park. It's a bit small, but a ton of fun. We'd go back. read more

Old and empty. The website is extremely misleading. The rides are definitely old and worn out and the employees seem like a bunch of miserable zombies (except for the people that ran the games. They were lively and friendly). The prices for the rides are a little expensive. The deal with the tickets are sort of highway robbery. Not many rides there. I would suggest you not use the bathroom. It's is HORRID and so so smelly! My son had a good time, but all children will enjoy any amusement park, no matter how sh*tty it is :) *Side Note - I purchased the funnel cake and had to throw it out because the stupid girl poured what looked like an entire cup of powdered sugar on it! Not impressed, although my 3yr old enjoyed it for the most part. What pissed me off was the tickets are only good for the rides everything else including the mechanical bull cost money and nowhere at either ticket booths does it say that the tickets won't cover the games. In such a small area I feel that it is absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay separate! Now I'm stuck with $80.00 worth of tickets. $10 for a bull ride $6 for a basic funnel cake $8 with toppings $3 for any of the gimmicky games With such prime real estate there's absolutely no reason why this can't be an amazing little spot but at this point it's just a money hungry tourist trap. read more

Our daughter spotted the Ferris Wheel and of course we had to go. The rides are fun, the environment clean and the staff was somewhat friendly. The 33.00 armband for her to ride was a fair price considering most of the rides are 5.50 ( all prices quoted her included tax). The ring toss guy was really nice, Markie got one ring on the bottle and he was very patient while she chose her prize! All in all a good clean fun time. I love that Va Beach has no cursing signs posted all around. Very kid friendly read more

I had a good time here, but I have to give it a three because of the price, which seems kinda high. Most of the rides cost 4 or 5 tickets and tickets cost $1.10 each. The two of us rode the Flying Bobs together (for 5 tickets each) and had a great time, but at $11 a go, we limited it to just one ride. If you have kids the ticket prices would really add up. You do get a "bargain" on tickets if you buy 50 - it's something like $45 bucks that way. Even if you're not sure you want to pay for the rides, you should take a walk through this amusement park (admittance is free). The hamster balls are a riot. read more

I was really excited to take my kids having seen the brochure and other reviews, but the place is really a dive. Even though we were there on a weekend in peak season, there was hardly anyone there. The rides and game area looked worn out and sad, and there wasn't the fun fair-like atmosphere I was hoping for. We just did the ferris wheel and one game to appease the kids, then were on our way. We won't be back. read more

Had a blast. It's a small boardwalk sized fun park. Don't expect a fair sized park. My 7 and 3yr old both loved it. The people working the park are so fun and upbeat. And my brave little 7 yr old got on an upside down ride, panicked and the lady running it was a sweetheart and stopped it to let her get off(they don't do that where we live, and we were the only two ppl on it so it didn't affect other riders) The sling shot is pricey, but super fun if you have the balls to ride. read more
