I am basing my review on the activities that me and my daughter experienced. There is lots of parking at the event and it is free.. which is great to see.... Walking in, we were shocked at how expensive everything was. You are literally spending $50+ per hour per person. We did the mini golf. The course was very small. 18 holes in the dark with glow in the dark balls. It started out great but when we reached around hole 6 a group of 12-15 teenagers came in and started speed running through the course.. they were hitting their balls all over the place. My daughter and I had to step aside for and let them speed their way through. After that there were a couple of older kids that were hitting their balls very hard and they were flying off the course.. one of those balls almost hit my daughter in the head.. they really need some supervision in the mini golf room. Otherwise somebody is going g to get seriously injured... Next we want to the arcade section. My daughter loved the VR experience items. But at $5+ dollars for 5 mins.... It adds up really fast. They have a little store where you can get prizes in exchange for tickets. But the big problem is that there are very few machines that actually give you tickets when you play them. There were a couple of claw machines that gave you a chance to win 100'or so tickets. But when you need thousands of tickets to buy anything.. you are literally spending a lot of money. Most of the machines were claw based machines where you could win a prize or the coin push machines which are hard to win anything out of. Overall, I was not a big fan of Apex. It is very expensive for what you get.. you can easily spend over $100 per hour in this place to try all the different things. Unless you have a big promo or coupon that gives you a huge discount.... It is not worth the money. The other big issue is that there is very little supervision of all the kids running around. Most of the staff look like they are high school students working a summer job. Like I mentioned earlier, my daughter almost getting hit in the head with a golf ball is unacceptable!!! Highly don't recommend coming here unless you can get a huge discount.

The cost was per lane vs per person and you pay at the counter in the bowling area. If you're in the military/a vet let them know as you get a DISCOUNT. Not only that, but shoe rental and sock are free, (normally around $3.50 each). Since I didn't go in with intentions to bowl I didn't bring any, but was able to get a free pair since my cousins benefit applied to everyone in the party. The socks are actually cute (to me). It was very busy on a Friday evening and the crowd seemed to be teens and adults. Very few small kids. The servers come to the lanes to take orders, and the tablet at the bowling lane has a button to press for their help. Since it was taking long, we just ordered drinks from the bar nearby. The food, ordered later was simple, but good. -Sunset strawberry sangria is good, but could use more strawberry flavor. - Mozzarella sticks are no different then what you'd get at the grocery store and for the price the amount given isn't enough. - Wings, got a double order, 1/2 sweet chili, 1/2 garlic parmesan. I've often seen the latter on menus and steered clear because it didn't sound appealing. However, since it was ordered (for the group) I figured I'd give it a try. It was Soooooo good that I before I left I placed a to go order. Servers and staff were overall kind, but very busy. Lots of running and trying to take care of everyone. There weren't many smiles, but I imagine they were focused on the task at hand. Anyway, be kind and be patient. If you're staying at a nearby hotel let them know your going to Apex. I did (as I inquired about directions) and was given afree pass for laser tag, which I gave away.

This felt like a ploy to spend more money as we had to wait with five children around arcade games. When it was finally our play time the kids were called back. (There was only one other family waiting to play). Their play time was supposed to be twenty minutes but instead of receiving the whole twenty minutes to play, the prep was rolled in it, as well as debrief. They went in at 2:03 and were walking out at 2:18. Although they had fun it was disappointing to not get all the play time you were told you'd get. There was no one waiting to go in after them so I don't understand why it was so rushed. The person working was kind enough but couldn't answer any of our questions.

They claim they called to confirm but I didn't want to get into it with the representative as she was rude when addressing the food issue. We made it work. However, when planning a special event you should feel welcomed not like they are in a rush to get you out of there. Their staff should be more welcoming that is what sets a business apart... the experience with the venue and staff was less than pleasant. The food should be more available there are plenty of local vendors or at minimum allow to bring your pizzas and drinks than it's on the customer. Although the kids had fun since they are kids I will not Recommend this venue for a birthday party or any special event.

Fun with a purpose. The checking was very easy and the staff is very gracious, kind, and efficient. I did learn that I needed to bring my water bottles from home instead of paying $3.50 for a drink from the event's snack zone. Parking is free, great and there is a lot of it available. Everyone is friendly. I will play with the children next time we come. It looks like fun to me.

Kept getting the runaround. I called the park today and spoke to an associate named River. She was professional, pleasant, and patient. River helped me get to the bottom of the situation quickly. Thanks to her, we were able to cancel our membership. Had she been working there 3 years ago, we could've saved over $600! SkyZone gets ZERO stars! River gets FIVE!!!

Virginia Beach Adventure Park gave us one of those summers that actually felt like a summer…read more My son and I did the summer pass for a month, and as a local, I really appreciated having something this active, outdoorsy, and genuinely fun right in our backyard. We spent what felt like half the summer up in the trees, conquering trails, zip lines, and whatever questionable life choices led me to believe I was ready for the "longest" course. Spoiler: it is absolutely the longest. By the end of that one, I had given the trees everything I had. We tackled almost every course we were eligible for, and even my husband joined us one day, which was very much outside his comfort zone. That alone deserves recognition. Every visit ended the same way: sweaty, exhausted, full of adrenaline, and smiling like we had just accomplished something ridiculous and wonderful. And honestly, we did. By the end of the summer, both my son and I had noticeably better core and upper-body strength. Those ropes and platforms will humble you very quickly. I don't really have a favorite course because each one had its own personality, but some definitely felt like they were designed by someone who enjoys watching people question their decisions halfway through. In the best way, of course. One thing I do wish were a little clearer is the parking situation. The recommended parking is over by one of the aquarium buildings, and then you walk over to the Adventure Park area. I understand that there are contractual reasons for this, but as a local, it felt a little unnecessarily complicated. I used the HONK app and applied for the $50 local parking voucher, which ended up covering my summer visits, so that was a big win. Also worth knowing: if you park in the suggested aquarium lot and stay later, that building closes around 4:30. Depending on timing, you may end up having to take the longer route back around via the bike path to get to your car. I may or may not have chosen my own parking strategy from time to time. What can I say? I believe in adventure before I even reach the ropes. There's a Dunkin' nearby, which became very important to me after several of these outings because once you've spent hours suspended in trees, coffee becomes less of a beverage and more of a recovery plan. There are also food options available at the aquarium if you want to stay on site. What I'll remember most, though, is getting to spend that time with my son. We laughed, struggled, climbed, zipped, sweated, and got stronger together. There's something really special about watching your kid work through a difficult obstacle 20 feet in the air and then seeing that proud little grin when they make it across. We came for the zip lines and ended up leaving with a summer full of confidence, strength, and some really great memories. For locals especially, the summer pass is absolutely worth considering. We ended the summer with the black diamond course, and it was not as nearly hard as waterfall!

Definitely felt like it could've used a few more rooms/interactive areas. For what they provided though, I would say it was a pretty decent experience. You definitely go through the entire thing in about 15-20 minutes, so just like the maze, not very long; really just in and out. After doing it once, I don't see myself going back again unless they were to add some new aspects to the place. My overall rate of experience : 7/10
