It's warmer off the rink because most of the fans and AC is pointed at the rink where they should be. I didn't go to the bathroom and didn't want to. Plenty of parking. I checked the website and they seem to do all sorts of family nights and other themed evenings. Pick wisely. I didn't take a lot of photos because you know.....skates.

My daughters had an amazing time and the location itself is large. We loved that they had snacks and food items to purchase as well. I took away stars for service. This place gets busy and quickly upon opening. It was our first time so we had absolutely no idea what to expect. The gentleman at the register was just not welcoming and quite frankly rude. I didn't pay it much mine because I wanted everyone to have a great time. I would suggest a friendly person as the welcome person for a better impression.

The ice however was still crappy. The ice where the zamboni goes has always had a big dip and messed up ice and it still does. I did not see any skate guards on the ice. They did have us all get off to clean the ice and that was nice. Overall the experience was pretty good. I wasn't unhappy. We all had a good time. They have 4 food stalls and they had burgers, pizzas, nachos, sandwiches, boba, wings, etc. They even had adult beverages too! Prices were pretty standard. I was just excited that they had nachos :-) They also have a small jungle gym area - I think mainly for kids between the ages of 4 and 12 which was a nice touch. As far as the skating rink, it's not small by any means but it's not huge either. I was able to skate without having to dodge too many people. I am sure towards the evening hours it can get a bit crazy! I would love for them to take song requests which I think would be fun. You can go skating!!!!…read more I just happened to see an event on Facebook stating, Haygood Rollerskating Center was offering Family Night every Wednesday starting at 5:30 pm. Entry, Skate Rental and UNLIMITED PIZZA for the Low Low Price of just $7.00 . We arrived around 6 pm and I saw a good number of cars in the parking lot which intimidated me at first. There was no line. We walked in and I asked to pay for an entry for 1, but I was advised everyone must pay $7 for entry even if you will not be skating. Even if you do not skate you still have the option to eat pizza which wasn't too bad. ( you get a choice is cheese or pepperoni ) The skating rink was not crowded at that time. Plenty of space between skaters and most where wearing masks . I saw hand sanitizing stations at the entrance, by the skate rental, at pizza counter and the bathroom area. This facility has 80's carpets, classic skates and even toddler skate walkers to help your little tots have a positive experience skating as they learn to get their balance... I do not know if they have those for adults. LOL but it would be a bad idea if they did. There were two bathrooms. One which I found to be a bit peculiar... I posted a video. The bathroom near the entrance had two stalls but no sink in the bathroom. when I exited the bathroom in disbelief I saw that there was a sink and water fountain on the outside of the male abs female bathroom. ‍. The sink area was a bit unkept for my liking and they had run out of paper towels. Overall we had a fantastic time skating... I saw we because my initial intent was to not skate and allow my son to have a good time but nostalgia kicked in and I decided to relive my youth. LOL The ambiance was great! Music bumping and the wind blowing in my face as I smiled, laughed and zoomed around the rink! Definitely a good time to break things up and get out the house and not spend a fortune for some comfort food and entertainment.. Tip: if you are going with small children I highly recommend that you get there at 5:30. Around 7 pm the crowd picks up and at 7:30 sims and disco lights come on and older children and adults seem to come in. Almost seems like a party Also know that pizza is served until 8:30. Many of the holiday skaters are visiting Williamsburg, though during the week and in January and February, I've seen many locals enjoying the ice. You can bring your own skates or rent them. Rates are pricey, but it's the only rink in town. If you're local or visit often, they offer season passes too. Enjoy!

The bathrooms have tiny stalls with wide gaps in the door where anyone can watch you doing your business. So, I'd say it needs an update. Still, it has a family friendly, welcoming vibe.
