After a long long last year, a special relationship has evolved and emerged as a true result of being able to love and respect one other . The joy that we can offer we were able to share as a "couple!" This is huge and a great commitment and feeling. We booked the couples massage here at Salt where you get a massage in a room together. It's really tranquil. The best of all things . We get to destress together and get rid of unwarranted and unnecessary distractions. You can think after a real session of self care. It reopens your eyes and refocuses the self. When the self is present it's able to be kind and calm and spread more hope and positivity to others. Let your light shine and be happy. You need to keep your self care up. This was so relaxing and refreshing. The peace and quiet that my mind felt and let old go . What happened last week it's all gone. New energy and life ! Here we go. Thank you to the staff here you were amazing and oh so busy . You handle the work and pressure so well. The team is amazing. Sometimes we need to be reminded of our greatness and how amazing that we are. Like the team here. They never miss a beat.

But fo' really tho'.....you want a high end massage without getting a WWE style smackdown(Refer to my Best Foot Spa Review) Thanks to Regina, we had a very relaxing day! Kevin is really great about explaining to you what's gonna happen, step by step so there's no surprises. He first has you face down and then you inhale a scented oil to get your senses going, Then he goes to work checking on you periodically to ensure that a comfortable amount of pressure is being given making sure your body is at ease during your session. Oils are also used on your body which are very soothing and smell great. One of my favorite parts were the hot rock treatment. Rocks are heated to 170 degrees then cooled to the proper working temperature of 140 degrees and Kevin uses them to work your entire back region. After flipping around, Kevin did some work on my arms, hands, legs, and feet. Upon completion, Wifey and I swapped places, and I went in to finish off with a steam/shower...AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Personal lockers, a robe, and flip flops are provided, as well as complimentary water, and with very competitive reasonable pricing, we definitely will return! ALOHA!!! The table was very comfortable (most Asian massage tables are too hard for me) and has a head cradle instead of a hole in the table. The staff that I met was very nice. The negative comments that I have read seem to be from people that are not knowledgeable about Asian massage spas. To address some of the negative comments: Almost all Asian spas that I have gone to ask for a "tip" upfront. It's why the advertised prices are so low. The $ that I paid, including the upfront tip, for a 90 minute massage was appropriate for an upscale place like this. If you are polite the people you talk to are nice to you too. From my experience with just about every Asian spa that I have visited they say "we are busy" when they don't have any availability at that time. It's because of their limited English, not because they are being rude. Most Asian spas don't have a receptionist. That's how they keep their prices low. It is common for your massage person to have to answer the phone or door during your massage. The only negative thing is that their advertised price, including what they quote over the phone, doesn't include the mandatory tip. If you walk in to make an appointment for a later time they tell you the full price upfront. As a Japanese Asian spa they do not do reflexology foot treatments (massages) From my experience in Japan it is customary for female staff to only massage male clients and male staff to massage female clients. It's not sexist. It's cultural.

A business shouldn't only be measured by its positive experiences, but also by how it handles mistakes. After a great massage focused on a problem area, I booked a follow-up appointment with the Associate before leaving. As the date approached, I received no communication, so I called only to be told there was no record of my booking. Then, a month later (on the same date I had originally booked), I received a call from the manager, Karina, asking why I had missed my appointment. I explained the prior issue and that no appointment existed on my end. A week later, Karina called again to say they would "courtesy waive" a no-show fee. I reiterated that there should be no fee at all, as I never booked that date. I also explained an Associate never called me as they usually do to confirm the appointment and asked if their approach had changed. She responded that she needed to pay her employee and close her books, which missed the point entirely. She also mentioned an email had been sent - I later found it in my junk folder, but I had no reason to look there for an appointment I didn't make. Had I seen it, I would have contacted them to correct their error. While I've had positive experiences at Lapis & Oak, I'm disappointed in how this situation was handled. I understand mistakes happen, and I'll take steps like booking directly through their website rather than with a person and checking junk folders more often. However, what I find most frustrating and the reason for this review, is the lack of accountability and the tendency to shift blame onto the customer.
