This place will not disappoint! Try them!!!!!! It was the best addition to our baby shower!
I don't know where to start. I started working with Lyla Jones back in February to make my daughter's graduation cake a reality. They were patient in working with my design, dates, and extremely affordable! I have cut and served hundreds of cakes in my years as an event professional, but not only was this cake amazing to look at, the taste of the cake was exceptional. Moist, sweet, plenty of yummy frosting, and so fresh. I will never order another cake anywhere but here!! Great job, Lyla Jones Cakes! You truly are a class act!
The communication and ordering process was completed via email. It was easy, straightforward, and precise. The cake was ready at the said time for their pick-up window deadline. Clear instructions for serving were given by a friendly gentleman who carefully loaded the cake into the car. As for the cake, it was wonderful all around! Our little girl loved it and enjoyed eating it! It tasted so good that most people even went back for seconds. Several of our guests asked where the cake was from and described the cake as "phenomenal." By the second day, the cake was all gone! A custom cake from LJCS is pricey, but well worth it. We'll be ordering all of our future cakes from here for our special events! Thank you, LJCS, for providing outstanding service and a top notch cake! It was indeed "phenomenal."
Lyla Jones does a great job with customizing your order for your need. A little hard to get started with orders being over google forms but the rest of the service is amazing! All the way to pick, they are super responsive and easy. The cake doesn't just look good like most fondant cakes...it tastes amazing too!! We got so many compliments and sent referrals to Lyla Jones!!

This was my first time buying a cake that wasn't store bought and they did a wonderful job. Wanted to do something special for my mom's 50th birthday since her party was canceled due to COVID. The cake was delicious and designs were on point! The cake was so beautiful we didn't want to cut it! Also please ignore the lumps on the top tier. Someone moved the cake and it wobbled/tipped a little causing the lumps. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the colors I wanted were a bit off and the communication when I was trying to book the cake was lagging. I had to double message them just to try to get a response when going over my cake design. Just feel it could've taken two days vs the four days it took to book. I'd still recommend them and will definitely give them another try for future events.

You don't believe me? Ok... look them up on Facebook or Instagram and just let you eyes do the confirming. They have some of the most amazing cake creations I've witnessed here in Raleigh. Lyla's is located on the second floor of Crabtree Mall. Upon walking into the cake shop you will notice a plethora of cupcakes upfront for sale. They are priced rather competitively with other "cupcakeries" (about $3 per cupcake). We grabbed a Apple Cinnamon cupcake and OMG -- What an amazing experience. The cake was super moist and oh so yummy. The butter cream icing wasn't to much on your stomach. It was all so good. I was super impressed. While in the shop, we were assisted by Shawn. Shawn knows alot about the company and you can see his passion for what they do as he speaks. He exclaimed that their cupcakes are made fresh everyday! Matter of fact everything is made fresh everyday. He said that the Vanilla Strawberry is a crowd favorite! He also mentioned that we should check out the S'mores Cupcake as it features there oh so yummy marshmallow buttercream! If you need a custom cake designed this place is it! I'm looking forward to having something custom done soon. They have a staff of artist ready to work their magic on your cake creation. Check them out!

The cake is very moist and I feel like I can taste whole milk (which is a good thing). The frosting doesn't cover the whole cupcake and sits high, so you can slice it in half if you please. Their containers are also the best I've seen in the cupcake game. It holds the cupcake in place so your little gift isn't bouncing all around and getting frosting all over. And then if you want to eat it, you can just take it out of the one side and sit it on the other side! The cupcakes are slightly under $4, so definitely just a once-in-while treat for me. Worth a visit if you're into supporting local bakery cupcakes :) and they make personalized cakes - so fun to look at in the shop!

Our future cakes and cupcakes (samples from the store) we be purchased from here. Plus ordering was easy and they were very patient. The hardest thing was choosing the cake style. So many choices plus designing your own can give you a headache. Plan ahead, they book fast.

Cute bakery that apparently only opened to the public a year ago. They sell sample size cake cups and cookies and small banana bread loafs. I tried the strawberry and the red velvet. I enjoyed the strawberry more than the red velvet. It also didn't have its foto cream cheese frosting which made me like it less, not the best I've had. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Would pass by and try other items they sell. read more

They did an amazing job on a Winnie the Pooh cake for a baby shower I was hosting! The process was smooth all the way through and the cake was beautiful/very flavorful! Definitely recommend and will be using them in the future. Don't walk, run! read more

Amazing cupcakes. Been here multiple times. Hubs always asks to stop in and get a cupcake whenever we are at Crabtree Mall. They are popular and do sell out. If you go near the end of the day/weekend, selection might be scarce. read more

This bake shop did a phenomenal job on our child's Peppa Pig cake!! While it costed a little more than I thought it would (for an 8 inch round), the details take many hours to get Right. I didn't want an amateur or strange looking peppa. Who would? But they completely replicated the picture I sent via email. Great job guys! Attached are photos! read more

If you live in or around Raleigh area and need a custom cake Lyla Jones is a sure bet! I live out of state and needed a cake for my daughter's pharmacy graduation, their customer service was great. Answered all my questions in a timely matter. The cake was everything I hoped for and more. The cookies and cream filling was delicious! read more
OMGGGGGGGGGG!!! My GAWWWWDDDD!!! My family & I LOVE cupcakes. I mean LOVVVVVVVE them!!! So EVERYWHERE we travel, we seek out the best cupcake shops. I've been DYING to try Lyla's, but I live in Cary, so I didn't get there yet. Today, I had family coming to visit me from VA & I had them stop by. I AM IN LOVE!!! There's only 1 other place n NC that I found that had BOMB cupcakes & they r a food truck. I will drive to Clayton from now on when I need a cupcake fix. My mind has officially been blown today!!! The buttercream is PERFECT & the cake is moist!! If I could hug that sweet guy who took the time to explain things to my family today while I was watching via FaceTime, I WOULD!! A huge thank you to Lyla Jones Bake Shop for creating a one-of-a-kind birthday cake for my grandson's 2nd birthday! This little guy LOVES fire hydrants and seeks them out on every walk. He loves the newly painted yellow ones in Raleigh the best. But still likes the red ones! I had no idea how to order a cake for him with his favorite thing as the theme. As soon as I stopped into Lyla Jones Bake Shop, the most delightful fellow assured me that the the cake designers could make the perfect cake. He called them twice to work out the details of a small cake with both red and yellow fire hydrants on top with a hose attached to one and a number 2 and his name They even added the bushes that the hydrants hide behind Not only was the cake perfect, it was also perfectly delicious ! Both the cake and the buttercream have rich REAL butter flavor . Everyone kept saying it tasted like a homemade old fashioned "scratch" cake. This was a random stop after some shopping at Sephora. This place caught my attention with all the beautiful cupcakes. I usually hate most icing because its too sweet but this place was amazing. I got a simple yellow cake cupcake with chocolate icing. It was so good. I even ate all the icing. Definitely worth trying. Yes, it was a $4 cupcake. I wouldn't waste the quality on small children but I think adults would appreciate it. They also have a lot of cake displays which were beautiful and nice to admire. I had seen the store at Crabtree Valley Mall but had never tried their cakes before placing this first order. We ordered a two-tier cake with a dancing theme for our daughter's birthday. The cake was both beautiful and delicious. All of the ordering was handled online with questions answered via FB Messenger. Everything was handled professionally and all guests, kids and adults, raved about the quality of the cake. We would definitely order from Lyla Jones Bake Shop again if the opportunity arises. read more
This cupcake shop is so adorable. I love everything about it including the delicious smells that invite you to come in, spacious layout and the cupcake display. I happened to come later in the evening and they had sold out of most of their flavors especially the flavor of the day. I ended up selecting the birthday cake flavor and vanilla as well as the apple cinnamon. The young lady who helped me also advised that the same buttercream frosting used in their larger Cakes as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my selections! read more

I first tried Lyla Jones cupcakes in Crabtree Valley Mall. Tasted amazing and then I noticed they did custom cakes!! My husband and I decided to have them make our wedding cake. We chose a three tier tree stump cake with our initials carved in the front. The bark on the exterior was lifelike and the cake tasted amazing. I have recommended them to other people and they were also satisfied for custom cakes. read more

We had a great experience. I believe I drove them crazy with all my questions, but in the end I sent a picture just to give them an idea.....and they replicated it perfectly! A beautiful job! And the cake tasted good too! I need to say, I'm not particularly into "American" cakes because I find them too sweet for my taste, but Hynix one was really good! read more

Just tried Lyla's Bake Shop here in Riverwood Athletic Club and man oh man this is Delicious. One of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. The cake is moist and the icing is a perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. This is a true treat! I dare say best cupcake in Clayton and Raleigh area!! read more
