Small selection in comparison to Preston Corners location, but still good quality. Delicious bakery items as you would expect from La Farm and very friendly helpful staff encountered here. The Deets: I had the chance to go by this location of La Farm Bakery near downtown Cary on Chatham St a couple of times during the past holiday season. I had walked over first to see about getting some gift baskets shipped to friends for the holidays but found out upon entering that they only handle shipping at the Preston Corners/Cary Parkway location. I was surprised as this location had such a large footprint with being the size of a grocery store but most of that size is used for the actual baking/storage itself it appears. The bakery service/cafe at this location is pretty small but nice and clean, with the only sitting area only outside with no actual inside seating to enjoy any purchases. There is not a dedicated inside sit-down cafe experience here. The actual selections on the shelves available seem in less volume than say their Preston Corners location (on my second visit here I wound up going to Preston Corners again for the items I wanted for a holiday party I was to attend). The same, still delicious, baked items in their display case as well as coffee/beverages are available here and still as enjoyable which earns most of their four stars here. Luckily the second visit I made here was on a warmer day so the outside seating could be utilized if you wanted to eat there. Another reason for their four stars here is the great positive attitude and friendly demeanor of the staff here. Even though they could not help me with my shipping of gift baskets on the first visit when I inquired, I was offered coffee while I waited for my ride share to take me to the Preston Corners location and that was greatly appreciated. The small cafe at the downtown Cary of La Farm Bakery is a nice stop for bakery items and goodies but for more of the full "La Farm experience" for gifts etc. then you may want to start out at the Preston Corners/Cary Parkway location. I may have had more of a 3.5 star full experience here, they get to those 4 stars with the deliciousness of the La Farm baked goods and the friendly helpful staff I encountered.

Bottom line: Whisk & Batter Bakery and Dessert Bar have delicious treats for your sweet tooth…read more Having experienced their cupcakes, pound cake, as well as their version of an oatmeal cream pie, I have enjoyed their baked goods so far. Generous servings and great texture as well as tasty, I'm glad I gave their desserts a try. The Deets: I've had the opportunity to try out some of the sweet treats from Whisk & Batter Bakery and Dessert Bar a couple of times now. Mainly I've had some of their desserts to enjoy at home so I cannot comment on their shop itself in this review. I'll start with the cupcakes, having tried both the Red Velvet and the Key Lime offerings they have. My favorite type of cake is Red Velvet and their cupcake version did not disappoint with delicious taste and great texture. I also enjoyed the Key Lime as well but I do wish (and this wish is splitting hairs most likely) that more of that distinct tart lime taste that Key Lime is known for came through with it. However the cupcakes themselves on the whole are not dry at all, again great texture with minimal crumble as well as being generous sized cupcakes. I also got their Pound Cake to enjoy with coffee. The pound cake slice is a very large slice, I made more than one serving out of it myself. Their pound cake is pretty good (I do hold my mother's homemade pound cake as the "gold standard" just FYI and it's pretty hard to beat, in my opinion). However I do prefer my pound cake without a frosting/glaze on it which this one does have and I think I'd personally like it better without it. I have to mention their version of the Oatmeal Cream Pie...wonderful! Their individually wrapped versions of this classic are delicious and probably my most favorite item so far from here. Their Oatmeal Cream Pie definitely surpasses any store bought version, for me. In summary, all the sweet treats I've had from Whisk & Batter Bakery and Dessert Bar have been enjoyable, I'd honestly say more towards 4.5 stars here. I am a fan!
