I have been using Lyft for about 9 years. Lately Lyft has been adding excessive charges to my balance, once you contact Support for assistance it's either Ai or a bot. I was charged double the amount for a daily ride I take, I contacted support and was told the charges are correct and I would receive no further assistance. Lyft customer service is horrible, you never get a live agent, nothing ever gets resolved. I rode one way for $28.91 and my return trip was $45 for the same trip, another example I pay 7.98 to go to the store everyday, but for some reason I was charged $18.96...Lyft makes up fees as they go. If I could leave a 0 star I would. I took Lyft home from a medical appointment. All seemed to go fine. Driver was polite. They even put my rollator walker in the trunk of their car. Get home they put my rollator on the sidewalk for me. Mind you this ride I did not have any drink or food with me. I got in wearing a long black winter coat. Had only my purse and a rollator walker with me. Driver was polite. She put my rollator in the trunk of her car. I sat on the seat of the car facing the sidewalk. I swung my legs in. We go home. She puts my rollator on the sidewalk at my house. I thank her. She says Have a great day. I said You too. Thought nothing of my ride afterwards. I get a email some hours later. They said I'm being charged a damage fee. I contact Lyft to ask for what damage. They claim the driver said I spilled something on the seat of her car. I said No. I had no food or drink with me. There is no way I spilled something in her car. They text me a picture of the mess. I said I don't feel the charge is fair. They say they stand by the picture as proof I did the damage. I went around in circles for hours with different customer service people. Who did not want to understand. I did not have any food or drink with me to cause that mess. In the same I contact PayPal my method of payment on Lyft. They said they'd look into this. I'm up to the point I demand a supervisor from Lyft. One gets on and is talking to me. They put me on hold a few minutes. In the same time PayPal messages me saying I will get a full refund of the charge and for the ride too. It will bump back to my credit union account by the 27th. I see the tracking for it saying Refund pending till my credit union processes it. The Lyft supervisor gets back on. They said Since I have had no trouble in the past with them. They will let me have my refund. I said I already got it from PayPal. I don't know how they can side with a driver who clearly seen I did not have any food or drink with me on the ride. I think another rider caused the mess. The driver never noticed it right away. They now do when I was riding. So they assume it's me who made the mess. I fought this to the bitter end. I'm glad I stood up for what I felt was right. I blocked that driver on the app. I'll never be pared up with them again. read more

The directions given to My driver where incorrect. I was traveling back from Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa to my home off of Petaluma Blvd North. Should have been a straight shot on. the 101 South. Instead his GPS directions made him exit while still in Santa Rosa and take some dark streets around to get back on 101 South after five minutes of me panicking that I was being kidnapped. He kept saying he had to go that way and he had no choice but to follow directions given him. Then we get to my complex and again he can't go straight to my house. He has to drop me off wherever that app says. I freaked out and demanded to be let out. I offered to pay but he realized I was crying and he refused payment. So I had to walk 550 feet in the dark at 1:15 am. This was my first and last Lyft. read more

This is my first time leaving a negative review virtually anywhere for any company. I got a ride from Lyft yesterday, and it was the most disgusting, odor offending right I've ever had since the first day I started with this company. The driver was a chronic smoker, and her car was basically a rolling ashtray. In addition she had sprayed some noxious aerosol in attempt to cover it up. My husband and I are dedicated non-smokers. We can smell a lit match from a mile away. In addition she was smoking in the car, and thought that if she hung the cigarette out the window that would make everything different and okay. It was a short ride to the grocery store, and it took virtually everything we had not to have to pull over and vomit. We contacted Lyft to report this, and simply asked for refund for the ride. We also told them we would be happy to accept Lyft $ and Lieu of a refund. However no such request was granted, and our words fell upon deaf corporate ears. We've been perfect five star customers and reciprocated the very same in our rating of drivers since day one. However the second we needed help/ to have lyft in our corner, they blew us off without blinking 2wice. We're going to start using their competition from now on. I'm very aware of the irony that both are corporate Giants that will both burn us down just to make a quick buck, but Uber hasn't screwed us Yet! I tried the grown up positive approach but this is what I get for my efforts. Corporate= Screw the customer. After all they're only responsible for every one of our employees from Management on down having a job. I have only been on two Lyft rides, both in connection with picking my car up at a garage. In other words, I would rather not participate in this business but had no other choice. This last time, 2/10/21, the driver was going 80 miles an hour on the freeway with only one hand on the wheel. I asked him to please not drive so fast and he did slow down and, I am willing to bet, got to the destination at the same time as he would have driving 80, due to surface street traffic. So there! didn't ask him to please drive with both hands on the wheel as I had asked the first driver on my first Lyft ride to do so and he really bristled. This is a macho thing, as my spouse will sometimes do this and it drives me up the wall! You cannot adequately respond to a sudden adverse traffic condition with just one hand. I was surprised to learn, though, that drivers don't have an address, just an indication of their destination. In the old days, cab drivers (remember them? I do.) would actually know the streets and the best routes. For example, I would not have taken the exit this driver did as I know it is always backed up due to a stop sign at the bottom of the exit ramp. On the plus side, the vehicle was clean. When I go to the Oakland Airport, I always call Fast and Friendly cab service and they, two brothers, are excellent. Showing up on time always, even at 5 a.m. Both hands on the wheel. read more

I drive for LYFT and UBER part-time. A few hours a day. Being retired I really enjoy meeting all the great people. My comments are from the driver's perspective. 1. LYFT does not publish a help number that can be used if something goes wrong during the ride 2. LYFT's app is less stable. In 75 rides twice the destination disappeared on the app so I always load the destination in my personal GPS 3. UBER has a much tighter screening process for drivers. And for cars. 4. UBER has a 23 x 7 help phone line for drivers. 5. The UBER app is much more stable. No lost addresses in nearly 100 rides 6. From my perspective UBER seems more. attentive overall. Safer for passengers. Over all I recommend using UBER as both a passenger and driver. read more

Don't both with scheduling rides. You'll wait until your window has expired and no driver will show up. Drivers are lazy and only want to drive when there is surge pricing. You can not depend on Lyft in the Napa Valley area. read more

I was driving today with my daughter in Fairfield @ 1:55 PM on Air Base Parkway to Pennsylvania Ave. and witnessed a Lyft Driver tossing garbage out of the car and driving erratically, all over the lane, really close the vehicle in front of him. Constantly hitting his brakes. He turned onto Del Prado or Buckingham Dr It was a silver Chevy, License plate # 8CQB882. Male driver. I do have dash cam video. You might want to remind your drivers that when they drive with a billboard on their vehicle you would appreciate them following the law. read more

After horrible experiences with Uber, I dumped Uber & downloaded Lyft. Lyft is amazing in my opinion! The drivers are professional, decent people and are also dependable. The system is set up for the driver and it's like f**k the passenger. Also Lyft (same if not worse with Uber) should be a god sent for people with disabilities that prevent them from being able to drive. I'm visually impaired and rely on ride share apps. I can't see the driver in their car when they pull up. I can only watch them from the magnified screen from my phone. How many times have I been left by drivers, and still have my card charged when I couldn't find the car? A lot! It's f**ked up! These drivers can be such ass holes till you get in their car. Then they're all chatty Kathy, sucking up for a good tip (I always tip well anyways). Then when they leave you standing there you can't call the company because Lyft (and especially Uber) make it impossible to talk to someone. You know what I need? A magic carpet or a flying broomstick cuz I'm f*cling sick of being left not knowing wtf is going on. read more

Until there is a way for us to rate each driver publicly without being a Lyft customer I'm going to leave all my reviews about lift employees here on the companies yelp page. For starters I suggest each lift user has a bumper sticker with the unique identifier with a phone number to call or a number to text so they can be rated on their driving skills by the public. Today I saw a Lyft driver on his phone while on the freeway constantly looking down at it. Here in the state of California there is a hands-free law which states you cannot hold your telephone because it is a distraction to take your eyes off the road. Amazon, eBay, etc. sells a decent cell phone mount for less than $20. The ticket in the state of California is over $100. Today 11/8/17 White Toyota Prius license plate 5UEE874 Just got cut off by another one of your drivers making an illegal left turn from the wrong lane. He didn't even have his blinker on. Today 12/15/17 I just witnessed a white Toyota Prius hatchback with a California license plate beginning with a Y and ending in 02 heart Icon. This vehicle in question not only had a Lyft sticker in the back window but also an Uber sticker in the back window. This driver cut off another driver and almost caused an accident in which the other driver had to slam on their brakes and lay on the horn. The driver behind them also came close to hitting the car that was cut off. Are there any qualifications testing or standards that you have when it comes to hiring drivers? Today 5/21/19 CA License plate 8CQE394 Black 4 door sedan Petaluma, CA. Approx 12 Noon From 1000 Lakeville St. all the way to 300 Lakeville St. I witness a Male driver with black hair and beard shouting and yelling at other drivers out the window speeding and weaving in and out of traffic so recklessly that I felt the need to phone the local police department. This guy was going over 45mph in a 35mph zone tailgating and coming inches from vehicles as he passed them in either left or right lane. This type of driving is completely unacceptable as a regular person and the fact this guy works in and out of his car driving other humans around. He is reckless and irresponsible and needs to have his license revoked and his employment cancelled. This is absurd a company who employs drivers has no way to quality control the type of reputation they receive by their logo being in these reckless disrespectful drivers window, passenger or not they are still representing the company. read more

I've used Lyft once in San Diego and it was great. I've used it once in Windsor and it was great. I again used it from the Sonoma County Airport and everything was seamless. We had an early flight and had arranged for a pick up 24 hours in advance. The pick up time was 4 am. I received a confirmation. 5 minutes before a Lyft driver was expected I received a message that they had canceled. Luckily we were at our home and could drive ourselves. If we had been at the other end of our trip there would have been a problem. read more

Our friend was scheduled for a Doctor's appointment in San Francisco. She lives in Santa Rosa. The health agency needed to schedule a Lyft driver. THREE separate drivers arrived, saw she was in a wheel chair, and quickly left! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! My wife ended up driving her. They were an hour late, and reluctantly were accepted for her scheduled appointment. The company that allows this behavior should be ashamed! read more

Beware AAA clients. Due to COVID-19 AAA will no longer allow you to ride with the driver of the tow truck. They called Lyft and about the same time my car made it home half an hour later was when the driver " showed up" in the parking lot and they sent me a text. The driver Gordon in a gray Hyundai sonata said that he drove around the parking lot for 5 minutes but I never saw him until he was leaving the parking lot. He told me "I already signed you out because you were not accessible . I reminded him that I was looking through the parking lot for him the whole time and my 13-year-old son and I had been waiting half an hour. He said "not my problem ". And then arrogantly pulled away. Cording to AAA they have a contract with Lyft and if the driver simply shows up he makes money. This is a recurring problem according to AAA and it almost happened a second time but I was able to talk to drive her into taking me back to Santa Rosa if I paid him cash. Since I had paid cash I had no receipt to give AAA and had to eat it. First and last experience with Lyft . read more

I won't use them again. They don't honor the discounts they give you. They add several fees to your rides. If you try to contact them, they send an automated message, saying they are reviewing your account. Nothing ever gets done. I only had one response from someone, after several complaints, who said someone else got back to me, but didn't. They'll never call you, even though they have your number on file. You can't call them either, because there's no number. read more

My husband and I are over 50 and I must say not experts on using Lyft, but while in Napa we really wanted to get to a few more wineries. I downloaded the Lyft app, which was easy to do and asked for a driver. You put in a credit card and it is deducted after your ride. There is an estimated cost of how much it will cost the driver to get you to your destination. I must say I was nervous about using lyft. I was pleasantly surprised how great it was. Our first driver Martin left such a good impression while taking us to Andretti Winery that we decided to use lyft several more times. Our other drivers Anthony, Ryan and Jose were excellent also. I gave each one of them a tip because I felt they did an excellent job. There cars were clean, they were friendly and they drove safely. I did find out that not only does the customer rate the driver, Lyft has its drivers rate the customers, which I think is an excellent idea having worked before in the service industry. While in Napa I would recommend using Lyft. The cost for a driver to take you to a destination is more than reasonable. read more

Horrible experience! !!!!!!! Driver made 4 turn arounds, didn't listen to her navigation and caused us to miss my friends brothers wedding ceremony! I like having different drivers and being able to review them after the ride. The app has a nice feature of letting the passenger see where the car is driving on the map. I wouldn't rely on Lyft for the "go-to" ride share. I experienced drivers going to the wrong location to pick me up and the the Lyft app shows the driver at the wrong location with the right address. I have missed rides and have been late to my destination because the Lyft app's gps and map isn't always directing drivers at the correct location. You get charged $5 for "no-shows" using Lyft Line meaning if you aren't there in 1 min using the Lyft Line instead of a private Lyft vehicle, you will be charged $5. It's pretty hard to be at the car in 1 min if the driver is at the wrong location that the Lyft GPS or map directed him to. I would rather take the bus. read more

I really like lyft, its a simple app makes sense the people are usually always friendly in my area but last night as it was about 40 degrees cold outside we waited for a lyft named Rus... Something. Waited the expected time, til it said that he was here and that he'd be departing in a few minutes. We didnt see him on the street so we peeked around the corner and he was not there. On the app it said he was still down the street so as the minutes go by i call him twice, i also text him twice. I hear nothing back from him and now app says he has been departing for several minutes.. I had no choice but to cancel that ride because i didnt want to stand out there waiting for this guy to cancel or if the app just needed to find a driver which im still not sure how that part works. I thought it was super unfair that i got charged for canceling, he had sat down the street not anywhere in view (according to the app) as if he was waiting for me to cancel. I eventually got a guy close bybto pick us up after having a few drivers cancel for us being too far. Just maybe browsing new options after that.. read more

Horrible experience the driver should have known where to go since i did input it in the app he got to the place to pick me i barely got into the car he then asked where i was going agsin and said oh u have to get another lyft driver was really rude as well he said he had another job thought it was close. From my understanding shouldnt the drivers already know the destination and if he did and couldnt so the distsnce he should of not accepted the pick up. I really like the service in Contra Costa County but I am not able to understand the pricing and overage charges. They seem to vary for the same trip and I keep asking them to look into it and get no real response. They even keep changing the to and from locations for the trips once they take place with no explanation given as to why that's happening. Also I had to wait for an hour the other day until finally the sixth driver took me on the trip that I had requested. They just kept cancelling after I had waited for them for up to twenty minutes with no explanation given as to why they were doing so except for one person who said that he wasn't going in that direction. Some drivers even seem to make a practice of saying that you were not waiting for them just to get a quick $5 cancellation fee and there's nothing done to sanction that behavior. Over all it is very useful but these issues really need to be addressed and resolved! read more

Tried lyft out for the first time I needed to get home from work my driver was named Aaron and the whole ride over there he was really nice and didn't make the car ride awkward it was definitely a lot cheaper than a regular taxi cab and would recommend it to everyone. The driver showed up in less than 5 minutes they are awesome! read more
