Ordered food and went to pick it up the staff was rude and the food was mediocre. I got sweet and sour chicken and it was just a box of chicken and a bowl of sauce. It probably took them longer to put the sauce in the tiny bowl instead of just tossing the chicken in the sauce. My girlfriend got the curry chicken and there was about two pieces of chicken and it all together was watery. The prices are cheap but it's still not worth getting it. read more

I ordered takeout from here and was both disappointed and surprised. The beef chow fun was unlike any I have ever had. Instead of being a wide flat noodle it was a thin glass noodle it had no greens and sprinkling of beef. Too much of the same bite every time. My father had the cashew chicken and was happy with it. It was the small portion but it lasted him two meals. I also got the sesame chicken combination plate. The egg roll was so-so but the main entree was good and lasted two meals as well. Better than Schezwan in my opinion!! So far ive had the sweet and sour chicken, the sesame chicken, the kum po chicken, the general tso's chicken, and the chicken and brocolli. Im not a huge fan of the general tso's, bu the sweet and sour chicken is a definent favorite of mine along with the sesame chicken and also the chicken and brocolli. My roomate enjoys the orange chicken. The service is extremely quick wether you pick up or eat in, and they also deliever! My friend had the Chicken Pad Thai and informed me that it was not real chicken pad thai and she was extremely dissappointed :/ On the other hand you get alot for what you pay for. Their lunch specials run no more than $6 dollars (most are low $5) and you get fried rice, and a pork egg roll. You can always subsitute white rice for fried rice and a shrimp egg roll for the pork. My favorite part about this place against schezwan is that it is no where NEAR as greesy!!!! Means its my favorite chinesse resturant in Johnstown for certain! Absolutely the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant!! I walked in and placed my order. The woman behind the counter barely understood what I was asking for. I ordered chicken wings with no breading or flour on them. I ordered a large seafood soup and I ordered a beef with snow peas. Please add onions put the sauce on the side and please do not put cornstarch in the sauce. She kept saying corn, corn corn, but I tried to explain to her do not put corn starch as a thickener in the sauce. She pretended to know what I was talking about. When I got back to my hotel room the entire order was wrong. when I called to tell them that the order was wrong The girl who answered the phone Yen Ping didn't really understand what I was saying either she asked me if I could come back to the restaurant I said no it's too late I'm tired. I've been traveling all day so she said OK I will tell my boss. I explained what I needed a credit, for she said ok. I got a call 5 minutes later stating that I would need to bring the food back in order to get a new order I told him I do not want a new order I want a refund. She also tried to charge me for a teeny little thing of hot oil sauce after I paid $45 for dinner. they suck STAY AWAY!!!!! and the restaurant looks like it hasn't been painted since 1968. Lychee is definitely the best Asian take out in Johnstown. The food is always on point. They also deliver everywhere, which most places do not. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because it always takes 1.5 hours for delivery. BUT that being said, the food always arrives HOT and delicious. The driver must have about teleported here because I got French fries for my kid, and THEY WERE HONEST TO GOD CRISPY. The food is excellent and the owners are nice. It's a typical small Chinese restaurant, the food are tasty and they have their "secret menu" written in Chinese for real Chinese food. If you are an adventurer, go ask them for the "secret menu" and pick one randomly from it lol. This is most definitely my favorite place to eat in Johnstown. Shrimp Lo Mein is my favorite food, and I'm yet to find a place that has better lo mein than Lychee. The last time we ordered delivery they said 40-45 minutes, that was fine. After an hour of waiting I called and the owner said it was Comming and the driver was busy. We waited 1 hour and 50 minutes and our food finally came our food was cold and they gave us the wrong size soup and When I called, the owner didn't even care. This was by far the worst experience I have had with a restaurant in a very long time. It took almost 2 hours to receive my delivery order. When I called to check on my order, the woman who answered the phone said she would call the driver to see where my order was and then hung up on me. I was never offered an apology or explanation for why it took so long. Lychee is your typical Chinese takeout restaurant, they have lunch combo meals at good prices and large dinner plates as well. I had the Orange Chicken on the recommendation of the lady at the register, it was decent but pretty heavy on sweet sauce, even for Orange Chicken. I ate at the restaurant, and it was a clean and quiet atmosphere, but it strikes me as a place that's primarily takeout and delivery. They got the order wrong and tried to charge us an extra delivery charge then when they brought us the correct food we originally ordered they asked for the wrong food back so they could resell it and after we said we through them away they tired to charge us for the food we didnt ask for. It's the only place within 50 miles that has some thai food (though they just have a few dishes.) I really liked the green curry and the peanut sauce. The meat is sometimes cut a bit too big, but everything else in the dishes are delicious. I like to get it delivered, however there have been a couple of problems with them forgetting things. The delivery is fast though and usually is here within 40 minutes. The prices are good. read more
