1:30pm on a Wednesday, one person getting a pedicure. I am in from out of town and asked to get a refill on one gelx nail (started to lift and was told by my tech in Nashville to get it fixed asap if that happens).... Woman giving the pedicure calls another employee from the back to ask if they have time... after a brief conversation, "no - they are very busy..." With the one person? RACIST and DISCRIMINATORY to BLACK customers place of business I received a pedicure and the pedicurist performed my pedicure just fine. When it was time to pay I pulled out my card. It was immediately awkward because I was then asked for my ID. I showed my ID matched my card name no problem. The lady attempted to take my ID out of my wallet . I immediately questioned her and said ma'am you can see my name what do you think you're doing ? She responded with ppl like you often after their services call and cancel the transactions. I respectfully told her that's not my problem I'm trying to pay you see my ID but I draw the line at her thinking I'm ok with her writing down my personal info on her little note pad for a $42 service ! She started yelling getting loud. She demanded I pay with Apple Pay or cash ! I told her no ! I'm not paying with anything but this card I pointed out that her sign states to show an ID only not that they are going to write DL # and details from it . What mail shop does that ?! The racist part is that no one else prior to me who checked out was asked this only me! I stood my ground and also suggested she contact law enforcement and to tell them she thinks layer I'll cancel my transaction and that she's refusing my payment. Of course she refused because she knows it's discriminating to assume my ppl of color do this ! She even showed me a prior customers stapled receipt that canceled. I again told her that is not my problem. She eventually took my payment after yelling at me !! I also saw her attempting to write down my entire card number details ! I have the paper she wrote on once I called her out on it ! DO not go here they are racist against black customers !!!! The problem photo is below of her being caught writing my card number down. I have been going to this place for years, following my nail lady to this place. The customer service is the best, with the ladies always offering to fix something if a client doesn't like it or if a client comes in with a nail issue of some sort. With all time I have been coming, I have seen all types of people come into the establishment and never noticed any of the staff acting unprofessional towards anyone. I was at the establishment when the person was there that calls the ladies racist. I witnessed the altercation and can attest they were not yelling at her until AFTER she had been yelling for over 5 minutes. For the non-regular customers or customers they don't know very well, they do require a driver's license. Many establishments still require this and if the person had actually taken a breath and thought about it, she would remember back when people wrote checks, this was a common occurrence. This is because they have been scammed with someone paying with a card and then the charges are cancelled. They do have copies of the receipts as proof as well as a sign saying they need the license. The ladies asked is she had another form of payment and even said they can take Apple Pay. Eventually after paying, she yelled that she wasn't coming back and started yelling again. I had had enough and was getting a headache and just said Hey, just go. She proceeded to tell me to stay out of it bi*ch and stomped out. 15 minutes later, she came back to take pictures of everything. Never in all the time she was yelling did she call them racist. Well, I arrived at 3:20 and didn't leave until 5:46 pm.... I was the only person here for an hour and a half. It started out great with my pedicutist Jane. She was very nice and polite. Then a couple of older Caucasian ladies came in and then all of a sudden things changed. My services began to become sloppy and rushed because they wanted to cater to this specific group of people. The lady doing my feet was jnstructed to stop and start on the others while I wait for someone else to come and do them. I figured she may just not utilize shellac paint. No biggie. I was still getting my hands done so it was fine. The "boss" as they call her (Nancy) had the most disgusting attitude ever. She's rude, short, inpatient and unprofessional. I have chrome nails and I understand that the white polish makes a base first. But there were sooooo many issues with me getting them done I wanted to just walk out. My nails are short. The shortest you can get on natural nails. No tips. Nothing extravagant. None of my nails match. Some have more chrome than others. Some have a glitter look. I mentioned it and "boss lady" had an attitude and told me that it must have been something that I, THE CUSTOMER had done when drying the base layers.... Literally layers and layers of paint ago. I said what?!!! Well if there was an issue why keep applying layers if the polish never dried?? I said ma'am, if I would have hit my nail or anything I would have let you know that like I did when YOU came and slammed that machine in my toes that ruined the polish to where she had to redo a couple. My nails are disastrous and she didn't give a damn about it. Because "I tha boss here" is what I was told. Y'all, there are Severn million nail shops on this strip alone. Don't waste your money here. I read on a previous review about them asking for ID to accompany the card you use. Ok fine. But when I paid there was no mention on that....instead "the boss" sent Jane running out to my vehicle to not only look at my license but WRITE down the number. I kindly told her ma'am PLEASE GTF outta my face. Immediately. Check the photos. $100 and it's embarrassing to even show Aomori when they ask to "see the color of my nails" I also wasn't permitted to recieve the punch card to "earn points". My daughter and I have been getting our nails done at LV Nails for over 5 years now. From day one we have been treated like family at this salon, and I have noticed over the years that is how they treat all of their clients regardless of their ethnicity or race. Their workmanship is A+ and I recommend this salon to anyone and everyone looking for a kind, professional experience while getting their nails done. Everyone knows Houston crime has drastically increased over the past couple of years and all businesses have had to take precautions to protect the future of their business. I do know that LV Nails has had quite a few incidents where first-time customers have come in their store and used a debit or credit card and then cancelled this card as soon as they left the salon leaving LV Nails with no payment. If LV Nails continues to let people do this, they will be out of business in no time! LV Nails has had no other recourse but to ask first-time customers for their ID. It's too bad that someone would get offended by this and not understand that this business owner is only doing this to protect her bottom line and stay in business. I was introduced to this nail shop in 2014, when I came down here to visit from San Diego, California. I ended up staying in Texas for six months in the entire six months. I went to this particular nail shop every two weeks I have never had a complaint or a problem and if I did, it was an easy fix. I love Cindy (owner)! Feet smooth? Check. Polish still in tact? Check. Painting in the lines? Not so much. She didnt look like she really knew what she was doing. When she was removing my dead skin, she just kept going back and forth from foot to foot only because I kept looking at my feet to make sure she was actually working on them. Wow, just wow, my nails where terrible, they wanted my ID with my credit card so I left my credit card with them and went to the car to get my ID and the lady followed me all the way across the parking lot to my car smh, I literally had to go straight to another nail salon to get them redone and reshaped. I'm so disappointed in this place. I started coming here excited to have a nail salon closer to my house. The new change in management is terrible. The manager has given me both a pedicure and has done my nails and I have been disappointed both times. She doesn't care about the customer. She tore my cuticuls both times. She was rushing and there was no one waiting after me. The polish was applied too thick and began to bubble. So disgusted. I will not return. read more

Don't waste your money!!! I used to come to this nail salon back in 2012 and had pretty good service, but their shellac would always chip and peel. Fast forward to this past Saturday, I decided to give them another try. I asked for the shellac #50; which was a dark purple...or so I thought. I also opted to get rhinestones at the bottom of my nails. When the male technician applied the first coat of gel polish, I said "wow, that looks blue." He replied "no it's just a really dark purple." I said "ok, because I don't like blue on my nails." He agreed and continued. I didn't realize that I was actually correct until I got home. Sunday morning I woke up and noticed one of my rhinestones was missing... I thought to myself "Really? After just one day?" Here it is Monday afternoon and three rhinestones were missing. So, I decided to stop by and let them correct their mistakes. The guy who originally did my nails was out, so a young lady was putting my rhinestones back on. During our conversation, I brought up the color issue and she asked which number I had chosen. I said 50. So, she grabs the little display and agreed the color looked purple and asked if I wanted to change the color. She also stated the display "must have faded" because it's dark blue. I said yes and she said she would have to charge me $15 for it. I explained I didn't feel it was right for them to try to charge me for their mistake and requested to speak to the manager. She stated she was the manager. Please imagine the shock on my face. She said because it had been two days, she would not change it unless I paid. I explained to her that brought this up during my initial visit, yet her staff provided false information. Needless to say, I advised her that this would be my final visit and left. read more

Most recently I came in after a solar nail fill in where the previous color was still seen underneath. Although I was willing to pay a new cost, the owner was rude and told me that she didn't care and wanted me to pay the full amount even though I had just paid for the full service the day prior. LV Nails is not worth the time or money. I've been once before since it is close to my home, first experience was not great but I thought I would give them a second chance, this was my last visit. I asked them to match my shellac fingernail polish to a regular polish for my toes. I picked a purple for my shellac, when I looked down past my pillow the lady doing my feet was half way done painting my nails blue. When I noticed and notified the employees that the colors were different both women working on me had an attitude about it. The lady painting my fingernails told me I was incorrect at first. Had to put hand next to foot for her to finally acknowledge the mistake. They redid my polish but no apology given. Both services I requested listed that a massage was included, neither my hands or feet were massaged. After I left and got out in the sunlight I realized that around my nail beds had quite a bit of polish dried on the skin, very sloppy work. Will not be back. read more

Ok so my nails usually are very nice .... But it's seems like when I get my toes done they always rush them. It's a spa your supposed to relax but no only that the paint is usually not always painted very well ! Plus they're VERY SHORT on staff . So your either waiting or being rushed !! read more

I wanted to try somewhere new, closer to home and preferably, a little cheaper. I normally go to Sweet Desire off of Highway 59 and Greenway Ave. The lady looked like a trainee or someone who recently started doing nails. My nail beds and the area around my finger nails are sore, throbbing, and in pain. I do my own nails sometimes and I am never in pain. As she was applying the color powder and the acrylic liquid, she kept using the same, soiled napkin and the brush was never thoroughly cleaned. She repeatedly wiped the acrylic reside on the skin surrounding my nails. Lastly, I noticed that she did not "cap" the nails as she applied the final gel polish. When you "cap" the nails, you pull or apply the polish on the free edge of the nail to prevent chipping, peeling, etc. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience and I found myself saying "owwww or ouch" one too many times. My nails look nice but I will not return to this shop. Maybe I went to the wrong person but either way, I will not return or recommend this shop! read more
