I asked for my nails to be soaked off. Instead, the used a nail tip to rip every nail off- I was in SO much pain. I was advised that my nails were long enough to not need to put another set of tips on. Then they proceeded to cut my nails super short. I asked for my nails to be rounded in shape but there was no shaping done to my nail. My nails weren't fully cured between layers and there were small holes in them that if you touched them, the gel polish would leak out. Ever nail you could move the polish around under the top coat. I ended up having to go home and take the polish off because it was pretty bad. I have never been so disappointed leaving the nail salon before. Luxx has been my go to since I moved to Lexington over a year ago. I called today and made an appointment for a pedicure and a full set with gel polish. The pedicure went well, however, halfway through a gentlemen came over and started on my nails. It seemed fine at first but then I got the vibe they were rushing to get me out and get the next client in. He was very rough and working very fast.. I understand nail salons can be busy and overwhelming at time for the employees with clients waiting and wanting to be squeezed in, but I shouldn't be rushed when I called and made an appointment. A few of my friends have also said they have been disappointed with service the past few times! Just something to think about. Worse Customer Service Experience of Luxx (Lexington, SC) I'm only speaking of my 1st encounter as a Potential New Customer. [My initial comment from a Google Review] I attempted to get a polish change 40 minutes prior to closing. I glanced one customer that was in the entire shop. Really nice looking salon, very clean. They offer a complimentary cup of wine ! The lady who did my pedicure & gel mani barely uttered couple words & it was only about the services. When doing the scrub that came w the pedi, she used her nails to "exfoliate my legs" & she did it so hard it hurt. She didn't do the greatest job cutting my cuticles & she started the gel polish far off from them that three days later, it looks like i need another gel mani. Prices are not too expensive. LONG POST/REVIEW.......First of all-I hate to have to write this review but I want to save other people from the same thing occurring. I've been a loyal customer of Luxx since they opened their doors. It was clean, and everyone was very professional. I told my mom, my daughter, and my grandmother about them and they started to become regular customers as well as many of my friends and co-workers. I never had any issues until a week ago. My 89 year old grandmother needed to get a manicure and pedicure done. We made her appointment for 12:45 that Saturday. She was struggling a little that morning and scraped her leg so we needed to stop and get her a bandaid which only took a few minutes but I went ahead and called Luxx to let them know that we were running late. I spoke to the manager and he said that is ok, there's no need to reschedule. We were about 10 min late for her appointment, but knew it was ok because he had said so on the phone. My mom got my grandmother out of the car and they walked in, they greeted her and my mom said I'm sorry, we are a little late. Well when she said that-the manager said under his breath, "a little late?" I guess he either didn't think she could hear him or he didn't care but either way it was completely unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. He continued to take 4 more people back ahead of her. Clearly-he was doing it on purpose. My mom took my grandmother out to the car without getting her manicure and pedicure. She went back inside to speak the owner but no apologies or anything. I know that it's not going to affect his business that we never go again but I want every single person to know that this is how he treated a very loyal 89 year old customer. Today, things were different- I was a few minutes late, took time to call Luxx(spoke to manager) & let him know i was a few minutes behind due to my grandmother needing a quick pit stop on the way to get a band-aid. He said it was perfectly fine. Upon arriving & checking in, I quickly apologized for being late & under his breath, he made the comment, "a FEW minutes?". If there was a ZERO rating I would have picked that. The service provided was so bad and the nails look like a 5 year old did them, I'm actually going to check with the Cosmetology board to make sure they even have a valid license to provide services they advertise. The bald petite man was the so called "nail tech" and he is very abrupt and ill mannered. He either has very poor eyesight and refuses to wear glasses or he didn't actually go to an accredited school for nail technicians that's how bad he is at doing nails. If you want your nails to look like a crooked fan that is siting on top of your finger then he is the one you want! I asked for a refund and he offered to redo the nails ( they were subpar to begin with why would I sit there again with his rude attitude) and " they don't give refund." And the idea of sitting in front of him having to smell his halitosis I could not stomach it. DO NOT go to this business, keep your money! The man who did my nails spent 15 minutes on my nails mean while the lady that was working I my sisters actually spent 45 minutes to make her nails look good. The nail tech I had was bouncing between me and another client, didn't communicate with me if he was done or not so when he finished and I inspected my nails you could still see the white at the end of my nails. The color I chose was not a sheer or see through color on the test stick but the guy insisted it was. After that i decided to choose a different color and when he finished filing off the old color he brushed off my hands with more force than needed. Just got the worst pedicure of my life here today. Got the $40 deluxe pedicure for me and a friend and it lasted no more than 20 minutes. Didn't apply a base coat, use cuticle softener, or include a leg massage at all. When the nail tech was done with my pedicure they put the rubber flip flops on my feet and had me walk to my car with wet toes while it's raining outside. Granted, I am picky when it comes to my nails. I let them know this when I walked in, but said I was told I should give them a try. I went in for a pedicure and a manicure - acrylic powder and gel polish. The guy that did my services was VERY rough, and VERY sloppy. I have 6 different nicks on my fingers/cuticles. The edges of my toenails are very rough - he ran a file lightly over them back and forth once, twice at most. On my nails, I told him I prefer the acrylic to be a very thin layer. He kept complaining about that. He would grind it down, then ask how it was. I'd have to feel the curvature. He never even ran a finger over my nails to see that they were smooth or even. After asking him to modify them about 4 times, I finally said they were fine. When he polished them, he was so sloppy and had such massive gobs of polish, that it actually dripped onto his table. When I checked out, I indicated to TWO employees, that I would not be back. Neither seemed the least bit concerned, or even asked me why. read more

I took my sister to get her nails done with a dip color. My nail tech was friendly but she had 4 different techs stop by her seat. The third lady that set down was very rude. My sister stated her nails were not smooth after she was done filing them, the tech did them again and they were still not smooth. During that time, at least 2 other ladies gave up waiting and left as well.
