The lady was very kind & did a good job at the actual pedicure. The painting of my nails were horrible. She just kept layering wet polish on top of each other. I had a gift certificate & once I gave it to her at the end, she definitely started treating me differently, like she was mad I had a gift certificate. I also tipped her! I got a pedicure which was amazing, but I also got an acrylic full set that I'm pretty disappointed in. I wanted my nails done for my wedding. The design was fine and what I was imagining, but the nails were so think and bulky. They also didn't take them all the way to the bottom of my nails so they already look grown out. The staff were very friendly and sweet, but I am really sad and disappointed in my nails. They just look sloppy. Especially since they're supposed to be for my wedding. Moved up here a couple months ago, and was very cautious about choosing my new nail salon. Came in on a Saturday around noon, was expecting a pretty long wait time, but even with all the people, they got me in and out pretty quickly! I hate giving bad reviews but I had a really bad experience at this place. I wasn't upset by the long wait or cold water resulting, but the following morning I woke up with an infection in my toe nail bed. Not an ingrown toe nail. The doctor could tell by the swelling, hot to touch, and intense itching. It has been very painful!! The manicurist who did my dip nails did EXCELLENT! However, the lady doing by toes seemed inept. This is an awesome nail salon! I made an appointment the day before for me and three of my friends to get dip nails and was there on time and seated immediately. When I got there, the lady had already started on one of my friends and allowed us to sit in the places next to her and select our colors, she even let me sit in the manicurist's side seat. Sophia did mine and was fabulous!! I had a difficult request with multiple colors and she was very kind and let me do that. I will definitely go again! I don't like giving bad reviews, but I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I visited this location a few times in 2018 and had to stop because the dip powder weakened my nails so bad it would hurt to even touch the nails. I believe this is because they ground my nails too much when removing the dip powder. After a year, my nails were nice and strong again. I had another bad experience when getting my nails done after a year. The person who did my nails was a man. I brushed it off, tipped and left. There were some rough edges and I decided to remove it after about 2weeks and it was the same man who removed these. To remove the dip, he used an acrylic nail.. it HURT! He ended up ripping part of a nail too and while I stayed quiet, I was in so much pain and couldn't wait for it to be over. After messing up my nail, I said I'd like the nails to be cut (since the nail that was damaged was very short). I absolutely hated what he did to my nails (see pictures). Out of respect and for his time, I gave a tip. I came home, and cut my nails. 4 weeks later, I still have the marks of where the dip powder was and my nails still look ugly. After having several bad experience, I'm not going there anymore and I'm going to wait until I find a good place before getting my nails done again. If you go to this location for the first time, I would advise being honest and kindly asking for a different person if you're not satisfied. read more

Today I received the worst pedicure ever! There was a new tech training and she did not have a clue as to how to use the drill. As I tried to tell her that drilling with the tip was incorrect, she could not understand me because she did not speak English. She was actually scrapping my nailbed with the drill! I never ever write reviews, but I felt that this place was worth a review. I DONT RECOMMEND going here ever. The customer service is awful, they are rude and over priced. I went in hoping to have a somewhat decent experience before leaving town for a trip. I asked for a pedicure which the lady who did it was probably the only understanding and nice person who tended to my nails. I also wanted a full set gel which was understood to be $50 but then ended up to be $90.... All I asked was for whit gel somewhat square shaped nails, she was like you mean coffin.. I go I guess so if that's what I'm describing (me not know that they charge $10 for shape) and they didn't even discuss or at least give a heads up that it would be extra. In the end I was okay with the shape . What really pissed me off was the fact that "design" that I didn't ask for was an extra $30 dollars. All she did was get a toothpick sized brush and brush a pink and a blue stripe on my nail and said my total was $90 dollars for that... I have been to many many nail salons and never had such a terrible experience. I even drove back to get clarification and all they did was laugh and be rude I asked if I got the color off would it be free since they ripped me off and the said no it would be $25. I went into this salon a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember her name but she was so busy concentrating on everything else except my nails. Practicly rushing through them but it also felt like a long time, having that said she cut me twice on the same hand. My pinky nail was fatter and longer than the other, the day after I got them both of my rhinestones came off. I wanted a "C" on my ring finger for my boyfriend she put the wrong color yellow after I asked for the same color on my nails. I wouldn't recommend this salon at all. I walked in to an empty spa!! which I didn't know if that was good or bad. It was 3 pm on a tuesday and I had Cindy do my nails. I decided to give this place a try again: 1) because another person I know said they go to the same nail salon and actually said the same thing about the girl that did my first mani/pedi. This person told me other service providers at Luxury Nail & Spa are good. 2) because the owner responded to my original review on Yelp. I went back for a gel mani and pedi. I like the selection of OPI colors. I specifically asked not to have the girl I had the first time I came in. I had two different people work on my hands and feet. They were very nice, did not rush, and did a good job. I will be back to see them ONLY. Owner Please Note: Gel polish should be soaked off using the proper method of wrapping each individual nail and using cotton soaked acetone on the polish. NOT by having a client hold their finger tips in a bowl of acetone. The acetone should be on the polish not hands just sitting in acetone. ---------- I went to Luxury Spa & Nails for a pedicure. The positive reviews inspired me to give this place a try. I was very disappointed and will not be back. The girl rushed through my pedicure and actually tried to skip over clipping my cuticles and filing my nails until I pointed it out. She didn't massage my feet and barely rubbed the hot stones on my legs. She more concerned with getting picked up by her boyfriend and doing a good job. Terrible. read more

I hate to review MY FAVORITE nail place as low as 1 star. But I'm so completely unsatisfied w/ this set. I've been going to this place every 2 weeks for the last year faithfully for full sets, waxes & pedicures. SOFIA & all the other ladies in this place are very good at what they do. I've never had a single problem out of this place, however when i went in last thursday, a man that i hadn't seen before named Tom? Tim? Something like that. Anyway, i showed him a picture of what i wanted. He put the nails on and as soon as he cut them i could tell they were too short, but i was fine with it. Next he laid the acrylic and let me say by no means am i a nail tech, but the amount of acrylic that was still unmixed on the brush was an excessive amount. It was so thick and caked, i was hoping when he filed & drilled them down it would look better. At this point the nails are flared out on the ends like Snooki used to wear on jersey shore. He filed them and i begged him to file more off because they just didn't look good. He did and little to no change. I let him paint them, because I'm in a rush to go to work. When they were finished and it was time for me to get my eyebrows waxed i was pissed and i let Sophia know it. She apologized she said she knew how i did my nails and this wasn't that. She said next week she will take care of everything. I'm so disappointed in them. & really don't want him to do anyone else's nails. I honestly could've gotten a nail kit from Walmart and done the equivalent.. the quality of this set is maybe $15, i paid $55 plus i tipped him even though it wasn't deserved at all in my opinion. read more

Thank you for your response. I do remember your presence and you also said that my feet looked like it had a shoe tan. I agree that the language appeared to be a barrier and even with you stepping in to assist it was handled unprofessionally. I was not provided an incident report for completion and you both continued to tell me my feet were tanned by my shoe even when I expressed my concern. My feet were not like that when I entered. As a spa salon you are obligated to offer a duty of care to your patrons and you failed to' do so. I wouldn't had to post anything about this incident if it would have been handled appropriately. I returned to your place of business with documentation because every time I called I was given the run around and the owner acted like she didn't know what I was talking about or who I was. The allergic reaction came from the extreme hot water that scald my feet while receiving the jelly pedicure service which resulted in a rash. I received the same services at this spa the previous month and had no issues. I have other medical records as I went to my PCP the day after the incident then was referred to dermatology and went to the dermatologist the next day. I had to wait weeks to receive the medical report to show it to the owner because I was being ignored. Bottom line is to take ownership for actions in your place of business. Mistakes are made. No one is perfect. It was a teachable moment of service and y'all took it as me trying to get something for nothing I have the right to raise awareness and share my experience. Hopefully, this is a takeaway for the spa owner and techs to respond differently when an incident occurs in their establishment. This incident happened a month ago 5/23 and the owner has just now followed up only because I exposed the incident publicly. My complaint stands. I liked this place the first time I came because of the location, ambience, and quality of the nail service. I ignored the other Yelp reviews about horrible customer service because I figured hey, I'll go experience these people for my own. Well, today I had my terrible customer service experience (& I'm African American by the way, which is something to be noted). I came in for a polish change on a somewhat busy Saturday morning. I was sat in a chair and told to wait until an attendant was available. After 15 minutes, three white women came in to receive pedicures after me. When an attendant became free, she began working on the the white woman immediately, clearly skipping me. I politely asked an attendant about the system they use that dictates who's served and they begin talking in their language & continued to work. Seeing that they ignored my question, I asked for the manager & she begrudgingly came to service me...only after she stopped working on the African American woman who'd been there longer than all of us. They blatantly chose to work on the white women over us, but I guess they just expected me to just sit and wait? Doesn't all of our $ spend the same? Clearly they don't think so. I will never patronize this business EVER again and advise anyone else to stay away - there are too many other places that value customer service. read more

I went here based on the reviews to get a pedi. I'm new here in TN and am looking for my go-to nail salon. The lady who did my nails was nice except towards the end the lady running the salon kicked her off to go do someone else. The boss lady started to paint my toes and didn't do a great job - it was sloppy. I was overwhelmed with the acetone smell and the place was packed. Parking was awful because it is by Huey's. Lots of people walking in coming back to have "nail repairs". I'm gonna keep looking for my go to salon. This is a bit far from Lakeland and I am sure I can find someone a bit closer who can give me that warm fuzzy feeling - hopefully. read more

This was my first and last time going to this locations. I made an apt for 3 pm, walked in at 2:50 and picked my colors. At 3:15 I was put into the water and waited until 3:25 for someone to come start my pedicure. She was done by 3:40, never asked me what kind of pedicure I wanted even though they offer 4 different types. I had no idea that she was done until I saw her grab my shoes. For my fill, the lady rushed through leaving acrylic on my finger that I found when I got home. I had to refile my nails in order to fix the excess acrylic. I found this place after reading the great reviews. I absolutely loved my experience. The salon is beautiful and very clean. They cover the pedi bowls in plastic which I love. They girls were very attentive to me and had great conversation. I even had one girl do my manicure while I was getting my pedicure. It saved me a lot of time. They took Excellent care of me. Sophia gave me the best gel manicure I have ever had. Very smooth, no lumps, excellent technique. She also gave a great, firm hand massage. The salon was well-staffed and my 2 daughters and I had 0 waiting time for manis/ pedis on a Saturday afternoon walk-in. Huge selection of colors and the salon seemed very clean. ONLY complaint: we were rushed when selecting colors, but not enough of an issue to rate less than 5 stars.
