Clearly, he turned it off and sold it to me. When I asked him how I should get it to pass smog, he offered for me to go to his mechanic. Great, I'm paying more money now for something that should have been fixed before I was sold the car. Also, the sensors in this car have never worked. When I mentioned this, I am asked "the car runs well doesn't it?" Sure. It drives. It's at a shop right now and later on today I'll see how much this car really cost me.. Update: Bought less than a year ago, five months as I bought in March. and they have turned the check engine light off and sent me to a smog check down the street knowing full well I'd have to pay for it to fail. Explained that the person handling the DMV is or had been out. I would get a call once I could drive over and pick up the plates (130 miles round trip for me), or if I would pay them $12 for postage, they would mail me the title and plates. Today May 4th, I left 2 more voice mails. I called a 3rd time and they immediately bounced me to the business owner's voice mail. I have never seen a dealership unwilling or delaying the DMV paperwork as much as these guys do. Luckily there have been no issues with the vehicle. But I had planned to take a loan out on the car, and that has been delayed now.
