This dealer sold me an Audi A4 that had a check engine light on. He claimed he had the car smogged when I bought it, and a couple of days later the check engine light was on. Clearly, he turned it off and sold it to me. When I asked him how I should get it to pass smog, he offered for me to go to his mechanic. Great, I'm paying more money now for something that should have been fixed before I was sold the car. Also, the sensors in this car have never worked. When I mentioned this, I am asked "the car runs well doesn't it?" Sure. It drives. It's at a shop right now and later on today I'll see how much this car really cost me.. Update: Bought less than a year ago, five months as I bought in March. and they have turned the check engine light off and sent me to a smog check down the street knowing full well I'd have to pay for it to fail. He turned it off when I bought it to sell me a car that had transmission problems. Tried to tell me it was the GAS CAP LEAK when I bought it that turned the light on. LOL. BEWARE! BEWARE! My experience has been a terrible one. I have been deceived by Vlad the owner of Hot Wheels R Us/National Car Buyers. I purchased the car on March 11, 2018 for $6,490. Upon buying the vehicle and going over the details of the car, he stated nothing was wrong with the car and that he did a major tune-up on the car. He stated that the engine was fine, no over heating, he changed coils, water pump, catalytic converter. He also stated that the car had never been in an accident. Two days after buying the car, the service engine light came on. I went to a certified mechanic to see what was wrong and they stated the Cham shaft sensor needs to be replaced which cost me about $100. The problem still exists after changing it. But while getting the car checked there was a stored code in the car computer stating that the car had a catalytic converter problem which had to be changed. Before buying the car I asked specifically if he changed the converter because of it having a problem, he stated "no he just likes to do major tune-ups on every vehicle he gets in. Approximately 4 days later the car started to overheat. Within 30 days I had to take my car back 4 Times to him to figure out why the car kept overheating. The last time he took a look at the car it seemed to fix the issue. The car was fine for about a week then out of nowhere the radiator blows up on me. The car sat for about a week before being fixed and when the car was fixed. I attempted to drive it down the street and the engine had blown out. I had a mechanic take a look and come to find out from the car overheating so much, it caused the water and oil to mix in the engine. I also got a copy of the carfax and found out the the car in fact had moderate front end damage. Also he claims on 5/7/2018 that his mechanic was inside DMV doing the paperwork for the car. I called DMV on 5/15/2018 and was told that the paperwork still hasn't been filed. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HIS DEALERSHIP! HE COMES OFF NICE AND SO-CALLED HONEST BUT THATS NOT THE CASE. I AM NOT THE ONLY CONSUMER TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM HIM THAT HAS ISSUES. read more

So I had been looking for a car for the last 2 weeks with no luck. I was looking for something inexpensive but reliable. I had gone to dealerships in the South Bay, The Valley and the península and was exhausted with dealing with dealerships that were (doing what they do best) pressuring me to purchase a car that I really didn't want only because they thought it suited me what ever that means. I went to small dealerships like Hot Wheels R Us that would see me walking around looking at cars and didn't even bother to acknowledge I was there. It sucked; I felt pressured at big dealerships and ignored at small dealerships. Anyways I was getting so over looking for a car in person that I even started looking at Craigslist lol which was exactly what I was trying to avoid. Then I realized I had looked everywhere except my hometown. So I started going to the majority of the dealerships (big and small) in Mission. I was really giving up when I said my last stop was Hot Wheels R Us then I was going to go home. Tired and irritated as I was I pushed my self and walked into the lot. The first person I saw was Sergio and employee at Hot Wheels R Us. As soon as we were in the lot he greeted my friend and I, he offer helped and I declined and said I was just browsing (he was very polite but I honestly wasn't in a chipper mood). He gave me my space and the as I approached a Chevy Equinox he approached my friend and I and again offered help and information on the vehicle. at that point I was happy that he actually acknowledged me but gave me my space of that makes sense (lol ugh women we are so complicated). So after speaking to Sergio and him showing me the CARFAX of the vehicle I asked if I could test drive the veh; he took my info and gave me the keys. I loved the vehicle. I came back and was so pleased that I asked him more info and he then he referred me to Vlad. Walking into the office I was skeptical and felt a little intimidated. After talking to Vlad of my situation I thought he was just going to give me the runaround. To my surprise he not only was helping me out with suggestions but he even called someone for advice as well. At no point did I ever feel pressured by him or feel belittled. At one point I knew I wasn't going to be able to finance something because of an existing loan (you know when you co-sign for someone but then it backfires on u)I was planning on paying half cash and half finance but it looked like it wasn't going to happen. Vlad game me many suggestions and negotiated with me and tried to help. But it look like I wasn't getting a car because . Again Vlad never pressured nor rushed me out of his office because a deal wasn't going to happen; on the contrary he did what he could, he actually took the time to work with me and offered to try to help me again if I decide something different of what we had discussed. He gave me a copy of the CARFAX and reinstated that I could contact him at any time with any changes if I was still interested in the vehicle and of course if the vehicle was still available. I took the report and business card and left. I went home and started putting all my coins together but was still missing a large chunk. I had put all my eggs in one basket and hope for the best. I texted Vlad and I told him my new issue and was just blunt with him. Next thing I new we met in the middle and he told me to meet him at the dealership (which was already closed but because he was so professional and understanding he actually reopened to assist me) to close the deal and next thing I knew I was the owner of a Chevy Equinox. Vlad has no idea how much he has helped me today. Not only did he lift my spirits up but relieved a burden I had. I know one cares (and I hate having to mention it) but as a single mother living in the Bay Area with one income is hard AF and i really wasn't trying to get into a car debt I have to much as it is. So thank you Vlad (& Sergio) you helped me out so much and I'm so happy that I made my decision to purchase a car from some one as honest, professional, humble and caring as you. I would definitely recommend you and would purchase another vehicle in the future if need be. read more

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. The main guy, Vlad Shapiro, sold me a used car earlier this year. Only later did I find out that the odometer had been illegally turned back. The car actually had 100,000 more miles on it than the odometer indicated. When I tried to contact Vlad about this, I found that National Car Buyers/Hot Wheels got replaced by Elite Motors, and I was told Vlad didn't work there anymore. I can only imagine how many times this Vlad person has pulled this scam. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy anything from him, any company he's associated with, or anyone now at Elite Motors. I just bought a 2007 Mini S from him, and as a good judge of character he seems genuine and honest when he said that if I have any issues with the vehicle to call him first and he will do everything he can to help with my problem.
