Extremely responsive, brought my car in the same day I reached out and got it back 5 hours later. Very professional and thorough with industrial grade equipment and clear experience. This is a 5- Star company that I cannot give higher praise. They applied Cermanic to my Lexus RX 500h and I was speechless . They repaired curb rash on a black alloy rim and it came out perfect! I then handed them my 2022 Toyota Highlander for a detail and polish. And it was another WOW! Give Shawn a call at 415-713-9900. You will not be disappointed! read more

Took in my oldest daughter's car to be fully detailed including interior, exterior and engine cleaning. My daughter had driven it all through high school and it was in pretty rough shape. Particularly impressed that they triple treated the seats, including steam to disinfect, shampooing, and extracting stains. Luxury Detail did an amazing job and made it look and smell practically new again! Fair price also when I compared it to other detailers. Highly recommend. read more

First time customer went in for a mini detail, but Brent and Shawn recommended the Q tip full detail service without upselling me so opted for that instead and I did not regret it. They made my Type R looking beautiful and never seen the car looking like a brand new car since I got it used. Shawn even went the extra mile so they give love and care like as if it's their own car which is rare. Very friendly, local, professional and passionate of their work. I highly recommend them and definitely will return. They even have some sweet looking cars in their garage as a bonus read more

Starsky and his crew at Luxury Detail are top-notch. They provide excellent customer service and can make any car look brand spanking new. I cannot recommend Luxury Detail in San Mateo enough! I brought in my 2017 black VW GTI, which was showing its age with various minor scratches and a dulling exterior. I opted for their "Q-tip Detailing" package, which included a full paint correction, and the results are honestly mind-blowing. Black cars are notoriously hard to keep perfect, but Shawn McNamara completely transformed the vehicle. Every single one of those pesky minor scratches has disappeared, and the depth of the shine is incredible--the car looks brand new again. Beyond the stunning exterior work, the interiors were also nicely refreshed and feel spotless. It's clear they take immense pride in the "fine details" that most shops overlook. On top of the quality of work, Shawn and his son are a total pleasure to work with. It's rare to find that level of professionalism paired with such a friendly, family-business atmosphere. If you want your car treated with actual care, this is the place to go. Thanks again, Shawn! read more

Highly recommend Shawn McNamara at Luxury Detail! He did a full detail and ceramic coating on my Telluride, and it actually looks better than the day I bought it brand new. The best part is how easy it is to wash by hand now. Dirt and grime just slide right off the paint, so washing it takes almost no effort at all. Shawn's professionalism and eye for detail are top-notch. If you want the best protection for your car, go see Shawn! read more

I recently brought my new 2026 Tesla Model Y to Shawn McNamara at Luxury Detail, for a full ceramic coating, and window tinting for the front side windows. The results were great! The finish looks flawless, the tint is perfect, and I know my car is protected for years to come. Shawn and his team were professional, detail-oriented, and clearly take pride in their work. Shawn spent time explaining how to maintain my vehicle once it leaves the shop. I highly recommend Luxury Detail to anyone wanting top-notch protection and a showroom-quality look for their vehicle. read more

Amazing work by Shawn and the team. Was on the fence about getting ceramic coating for my new car and I'm glad I did it. The paint pops and cleaning it is a breeze. Starsky is the best . He detailed my three motorcycles, my truck, my Thunderbird, my firebird, and a few others. All were perfect.

Quality work and friendly service! If I can give 10 stars I would... I used their mobile service and it was the best decision I've made. They communicated clearly the time of service and arrived right at their promised time. They bring all their own supplies and after they set up they just go to work. Not only does this business do awesome detailing work at a fairly affordable price, but they also do indoor custom Car Storage. That has helped me out tremendously throughout the past year. Starsky is a great dude and always awesome to be around. I've actually got my Mustang that is stored up there for sale and he is helping to assist in the process and even advertising it for me. I would highly recommend giving this business a shot. And the indoor Car Storage is also pretty affordable. When I first took the car there, it had small scratches and damage from somebody throwing tires on the hood. They were able to get that out. They also removed a rust stain from a water leak in the garage on the hood. The next time I needed it detailed it was because I took it to Tahoe for about a month and it got covered in tree sap . As you can see, they got it cleaned up beautifully again. Special thank you too Starsky's employee, who has done excellent work. I'm having a brain fart on his name. I'm usually terrible with names. read more

Wow just WOW Starsky the owner took great care of my CAR! I just bought a new car and knew i needed to get it ceramic coated asap! I also wanted to black out my rims and tint my front windows. The drop off process was SO EASY. As busy as I am, Starsky made it simple, safe and easy for me. He communicated with me throuhout the whole process of what was being done and what was next. He came me the right time frame of pick up. He was EXTREMELY more affordable than most detail shops in the Bay Area. Some shops didnt offer what he does! Starsky and RJ are fabulous. My neighbor recommended them. I went over and Starsky explained all the ins and out of ceramic coatings and different tints for window tinting. What I really appreciated was I wanted to purchase the longest period for the ceramic coating. Starsky could have easily sold me that, but he said I would not recommend that. Love people that are honest. Kept my car 2 days and it looks beautiful. Starsky does a great job of communicating. Starsky and LJ are genuinely nice people, who do great work at a fair price. Luxury Detail - Car Wash Near Me - San Mateo, California

I live in Redwood Shores where there has been a huge amount of street resurfacing going on, which I've made a point to not have to drive through. However, the other day I got stuck on Redwood Shores Parkway, in the middle of their workings. The next morning when walking by my auto, I felt spots all over the drivers side, which was alongside their workings. Tried washing and waxing it off but it didn't help. I went by Toole's Garage on Washington street and asked if they could recommend a GOOD/GREAT/AMAZING/FANTASTIC detail shop and the person I was speaking with recommended Luxury Detail Inc. on Center Street, around the corner. I went over, met the owner who came out and looked at my car. He felt and saw the residual spotting on the side of the car and recommended a Clay Bar Sanding, saying it would clean it up and make revitalize the paint, as it was painted in 2002. I asked him also about a ceramic coating, he gave me all the information, what would be done and how it would turn out. Lucky for me he had an opening the following day, Saturday. I dropped the car off at 9:00AM and picked it up around or after 3:30PM. WOW, amazing, REALLY AMAZING. The car looks FABULOUS and the paint looks like a fresh job. What a great job they did. I plan on having them maintain the appearance of the outside from now on. A great well done job, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and truly they are artists of their profession. Many many thanks.... read more

I've been using Luxury Detail for years. My bad for never leaving a review until now. It's been so long that I can't remember how I found Luxury Detail but I trust them with all my personal and business cars. They never try to upsell unnecessary work and their work is worth every penny. I've had them perform basic wash and waxes to restoring the paint on my neglected Toyota and Mercedes. (We have a 15 year old white Toyota truck that we never waxed. The paint was dull as cake flour. A day with Luxury Detail and the paint was restored to a shine!) I highly recommend LD and won't go anywhere else. Thanks Starsky for all the years of excellent work! read more

So, I normally detail my own cars. I have been doing this for over 20 years. Had my own business out of high school and actually did well. However, my wife wanted to get the cars done as a surprise for me and got a deal on groupon. So, she did the detail but added on the claybar. I REALLY wanted to be happy with the job. But after a day, I am not. Lets start off: My wife and I dropped off our F150 SCREW to get some love. Told them to do a good job because we are bringing our 911 next week. 1. When we dropped off the truck, I had specifically mentioned to pay attention to the roof as it has been forgotten by detailers before. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO A GOOD JOB. What was the first thing I checked? The roof. And did they do a good job? NOPE. The front edge of the roof looks like they decided to tape it and miss the edge from the clay-bar. Completely missed it. They also missed a lot of the dips in the roof. 2. The service included exterior treatment. I walk up to the truck and all the black is grey. Well, except for one door pocket. I brought it up and the guy say.. Oh, it dried up. Can't do anything about it. REALLY? They why is one still shiny black and the spot RIGHT NEXT TO IT IS GREY? Instead of just grabbing a rag and bottle and redoing it, he gave excuses. Whatever. Lots of spots were half done or one trim wasn't even touched. I went home and applied Mother vinyl protectant to the other door pockets and then just to prove to myself that the dude really is full of shit, I applied it to part of the front trim by the wipers. I let it sit in the sun for a couple days. Guess what? Still shiny black. If your stuff dries and vaporizes in less than a couple of hours, get new stuff because that shit is cheap and not LUXURY. 3. Interior was done OK. They did a good job on the carpet shampoo. Not sure what kind of leather cleaner/conditioner they used, but it had a off putting smell. It didn't bring out the leather smell like I am used to, but that is just preference. Maybe people like that smell. 4. Lots of little spots, I mean lots of spots, small details that were missed. That really shouldn't have been with a little bit of attention. Like the gas door. I opened the gas door and it was FILTHY. Opened the tailgate. Edges were missed. Inside, the shifter. Sure they cleaned with it in Park. But when I shifted into D, the top part of the shifter was FILTHY. Like I said, I really wanted to be happy. Again, they didn't do a crappy job, because looking at the interior, they actually did a decent job with the cleanliness of the interior. its just who ever did the exterior treatment, needs to get retrained. +1 on the interior +1 on the price -1 on the roof -1 on attention to detail -1 for giving excuses rather than just fixing it. read more

MY CAR FELT LIKE IT HAD A FACIAL (5 stars) These guys are use to fancy sport cars but I rolled up there with my 2003 Honda and received the same service!!! If you are really into taking care of your car, this is the place to come for a Full Detailing. They do an amazng job and trust me because I've had my car detailed around the Bay Area and this place just takes #1 in my book. It is appointment only and the are in good business so do expect a few weeks to get in but it is definately worth the stop in. Was lucky to hit a LivingSocial deal for Full Detail (interior and exterior) for $85. Usually it's $175 - 235. Full Detailing takes about 3hrs. I had added an additional 4th wax on top of the 3 coats of wax hand polish for $45 (usually it's $90 but it still was within my deal. My service took about 4hrs. Instead of spending $260, i spent $130. Hand Wash Vacuum interior Interior and exterior windows Whipe down interior and dashboards Apply tire dressing Wipe door and trunk jambs Tires/wheel/wheel wells Air pressure dry Clay bar and crystal washed 3 coats of wax hand polished Complete interior shampoo Condition leather/vinyl/plastic/rubbers Engine cleen included (optional) Q-tip finish After the 4hrs of waiting around my car rolled out from the back looking sharp, shinny, and extremely clean. They litereally cleaned every single inch of my car. Even places other detail shops didn't or could not get to. My car felt NEW, looked NEW, and the 4 coats of wax put that protection on my car. Appreciate the business and the company from Starsky & crew as I waited in the waiting room watching football. Will I be back? I plan to come back EVERY 6 months to get my car fully detailed at this place (full price). Also, come back for my car washes. They are that good! JABA approved... Until the next review. read more

Despite the doors opening a few minutes after my "scheduled appointment time" (that seemed to be less of an appointment and more of an idea of how many people would be in that day) and a bit of a wait, I'm thrilled with the detailing service. We brought in a car that was... less than clean. You see, we have two dogs that like to go to off-leash dog parks. And we just moved 1,000 miles and had to haul our own houseplants and other stuff. And we go to the beach. And we've hauled firewood in the car (only once! It's not a huge need in Seattle). And one of our favorite burger places in Seattle was a drive-in car-hop style place (Burgermaster). It wasn't trashed by any means but it certainly wasn't clean. As previous Seattle residents, we didn't really wash the car (with the rain, why bother?), so it was a little dusty. What we got back was a spotless car; there are details in the upholstery and car interior I'd never noticed before. The carpets are clean; I'm not even sure they were that clean when the car was new! The exterior is just as clean - washed, polished and waxed. The only thing I could possibly complain about regarding the cleaning is that it left a distinct lemon-chemical smell for a few hours, which seems to already be fading from the car. They left paper foot-well mats for both driver and passenger, so that we could not soil the carpet immediately and wait for it to be completely dry and aired-out before we were back to adding some sand and dirt to our car's interior. Some notes for people considering bringing your car in: While you *can* wait for your car, I wouldn't suggest it. We did wait, because this is our only car, and it was about five hours. It seems most people bring their car in during the early opening hours and plan to come back and pick it up around closing. I'm pretty sure we'll be back, maybe for a little less than full detail next time (just because we're obviously not spotless-car people, more like clean-but-obviously used to haul dogs and things car people, and I'd feel bad about all that cleaning going to waste!). Definitely recommended for a spotless car and friendly service! read more

If you don't want any swirl marks on your car, this is the place to go. If you want someone to show love to your car as much as you do, this is the place to go. Note: Starsky's place is a total head-nod to the SoCal detail scene with music bumping, guys working on cars, and a sofa lounge and pool table to boot. Yea, we just need a taco truck up in here. I had a wonderful experience with Luxury Detail when I had a full interior cleaning done after making a same-day appointment. Starsky and his crew deserve nothing less than 5 stars. They run a great business and are masters of their craft. I found Luxury Detail on yelp this past Saturday. I called them up and Starsky set me up for an appointment for later in the day (3:30p). Getting to his shop was easy enough and is within walking distance to Starbucks and the Hillsdale Mall (great place to drop off the lady). I wouldn't take my 911 turbo just anywhere. And well, she needed the pampering BAD at this point. Starsky and his crew were able to meet my need and exceed my expectations! Upon arrival, I was greeted by Starsky. He explained the different levels of work you could get done and told me what he recommended. I went with the recommended full wash, interior clean, clay bar and then 3 stage wax. I'm so glad I listened to his advice. I've never seen my P-car look so clean! The prices start at $35 for a normal wash and can go as high as $500 for a full "q-tip" detail. The place is called luxury detail for a reason; This is a place you can trust to work on your high-end toys (finally!). One thing to note about Starsky. He's a real chill guy to work with. As someone previously mentioned in their review, Starsky does become a friend instead of simply a business person providing you a service. I spent most of my time there just shooting the breeze with Starsky. He was even nice enough to help me back my car out of his driveway into the street when it was done (as I was scared stiff to scrape on the way out while also having to watch out for oncoming traffic). I'll definitely be back here soon. I wouldn't have anyone else work on my Porsche and Supra TT. read more
