The spa is warm and inviting and puts you in a good mood from the time you walk in. I was greeted promptly and my masseuse was ready for me when I arrived. I had one of the best massages there I've ever had...and I've had plenty. Hopefully they'll come up with more specials for non-members. I just can't bring myself to pay for a membership when my schedule is as sporadic and unpredictable as it is. I know I should partake of the services more often but it's sometimes hard to find the time. Still, the prices are competitive with other day spas and it's definitely worth the money.

I bought the groupon that included 3 massages. The massage experience for the first 2 sessions were…read morevery good. Ramell, who was the only one available on Saturdays, was a great masseuse. Placement of hot towels during the massage was something unique that I really liked. My last session was booked before my groupon expires, but she had to cancel due to a family emergency. I was already at the place waiting at a locked door when I received a text message of this after I got there. I tried to be sympathetic and understanding, even though I wasn't notified earlier before I drove all the way there, so I let this go. It took me numerous times to contact and rebook my appointment. I left messages only to have nothing returned. Seemed the only way to book my next (and last) appointment was through the online web site. I've set the appointment on the Saturday of labor day weekend, since I would like to end my busy week with a relaxing massage. I've got confirmation emails and texts of the appointment the day of. At this point, my groupon was expired since my last appointment was cancelled on me and couldn't get a hold of anybody during the elapsed time to reschedule my appointment, so I called several hours before my appointment to confirm if I can still use the groupon and to avoid any confusion when I arrive. Of course, nobody answered, just left a voice mail. 30 mins before my scheduled appointment, Ramell called me back about the groupon. She said it was expired and I could only use it as credit towards the massage. Even though I reminded her that she cancelled on me and I couldn't get any other appointments until now, it didn't change the fact that my groupon was expired and would only be used as $45 credit towards the $90 massage so I had to pay $45 extra for my last massage. I didn't want to argue about it so we I figured ok fine, I'll just pay for it since I needed the massage. So I agreed to pay the extra $45 and had the appointment confirmed. I arrived 10 mins before my scheduled appointment time, went for the door - locked. Knocked, no answer, there was nobody inside and no other cars were in the parking lot. I called back to see what's going on but no answer. I waited 15 mins after my appointment in front of the door thinking this could be another "family emergency," but still nothing, no notification or call. I called again, no answer. I was very upset and disappointment at this point and decided not to waste my time and just got out of there. I couldn't believe that after talking to her not even 30mins ago that she decided not to show up and just close. I'm astonished at how this place is still up and running when they don't take their customers seriously and just bail on people's scheduled appointments whenever they want. They couldn't even call back or leave a message saying they had to cancel my appointment. Very poor customer care and unprofessional. I had a good experience the first two times but this left a very bitter taste in my mouth since I got treated this way twice. It's a shame it turned out like this. I won't be coming here ever again.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Sylvie's today, contrary to what many of the reviews…read morehere say. I came to Sylvie's for a Brazillian wax. I've gotten several Brazillians before from a variety of locations. I have moved a lot, so I am always looking for new places to go. I chose Sylvie's because of its proximity to my home and availability. Unlike other people have said, it is SO easy to get to, and I was able to make a same day appointment! I am leaving for a trip tomorrow and it was important for me to get this service done today. I called Sylvie and she answered and was incredibly accommodating and able to schedule me in for that afternoon. Sylvie's is right off of 12 Mile Road, and the address is clearly labeled on the unit. I found the place with no problem, and was able to walk right in. I was 15 minutes early to my appointment, and she made me feel comfortable as I waited. The room was very clean and very professional. I am shocked to read reviews about Sylvie's negative personality because I did not get that feeling AT ALL. She made me feel very warm and welcome, while maintaining a professional front. While she did the service, we chatted and I found it very interesting to learn about her heritage. She did a fantastic job with the wax and paid attention to detail. I really don't understand all of the negative reviews. I am very happy with the result of my Brazillian wax. Like I said, I have gotten many waxes before from many places and Sylvie's ranks at the top of my list. I look forward to visiting Sylvie's again when I am back in town because she really did an incredible job. I would have no hesitation recommending her to everyone I know. It saddens me to read all of these poor reviews about such a wonderful place. As a real customer that attended Sylvie's today, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this place a try, like I did. I will undoubtedly be coming back to Sylvie's!

I as well as the other ladies purchase a groupon for $55 for two Brazilian waxes. I have paid more…read morefor one at other spas...so why not? WRONG!!! I'm going to start point by point so bear with me: 1. Location- the spa is located off of a residential street in pretty much an attached garage. Not hard to find but, not my idea of a "day spa". The room itself appeared to be clean, but as mentioned before the paper towels and the sheets was just alarming to me. Like paper towels on you bum at a day spa? Im not pretentious but geez 2. Scheduling- Sigh...ok so if you put yourself out there in the land of Groupon you should be prepared for the boom of business..or at least I would think? Scheduling an appointment with this woman was worse than trying to claw my eyes out. No kidding. She was "booked" all the time even 3-4 weeks in advance, she was so far from accommodating. I finally had to play phone tag with her to schedule both appointments, for my last (which was yesterday) I had to slowly explain to her that people work jobs. I work 9-5, no weekendsI'm free on Saturdays. When does she have time to take my business? She seemed annoyed that I wanted to even come back for my 2nd appointment. Because I don't have time to keep going back and forth. I ended up making a 6:30 PM appointment on a Monday. 3. Bedside Manner- excuse us poor American for not being French, Sylvie is such a French nationalist I wonder why she even is living in the US. But I suppose we are good enough to pay her bills and come to this dreadful day spa. She spoke to me about not wanting a "large" man on top of her, why are American's so fat and closed minded against different foods, oh and why won't Obama alleviate her issues paying her school loans? This woman is a nightmare. Waxing is bad enough but her conversation is even more painful. She is so abrasive and rude. 4. Ambiance- there is none. I can't even begin to comment further. In a nutshell, please don't come to this spa. I beg you, even if the groupon deal is amazing. She is literally a nightmare to deal with. I am not even saying this to be mean, but she has to do better. She abuses her clients and will be going out of business if she doesn't change her ways.
