I was impressed with all the positive reviews of Spaland and the fact a therapist would come to my home since I am now homebound and that they specialize in taking care of seniors with the unique problems that come with age. My legs were stiff as boards and I was hoping that someone could help alleviate the constant ache. Brandy is the therapist that came to my home and she put me at ease right away and was very attentive to what I had to say. If the first massage I received years back was hell, the one she gave me was simply heaven! After she was done, my legs were supple and ache-free! I had to book another session with her right away! My manicure and pedicure were superb. I think the manicurist's name was Kathlyn, but it was one of the better experiences I had had in a good long time. Very satisfied by the outcome. The massage was very good, a solid experience from somebody on the first encounter. (I think masseuses get better as they get to know what you need). But my facial, from the owner, was exceptional. I decided to upgrade my selection while there, and I'm on day two, and it looks spectacular. While I was there, I was also given a complimentary brief visit in the salt room. I had read about them before but this was my first chance to experience it, and it was very cool. Not sure I was in there long enough to experience any benefits but it was soothing and stimulating overall. In any case, I feel confident recommending the place after my experience, and I do plan to return. Staff was professional, facilities were lovely (not as stuffy as some other local spas), overall a great experience for me.

I was in Detroit for a staycation and chose this spa for its facilities (e.g., pool, hot tub,…read moreetc.). It was really nice to just drive up and get free valet since the spa validates it. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Check-in was smooth and they gave us a little tour to orient us before guiding us to the locker room. The changing area could have been bigger, but not a big deal. I like that they separated the hot tub by gender so it felt more private - when I used it, I had it to myself. The pool area was nice with different comfy seating options but it was a little too warm in the room itself so kind of uncomfortable to just sit and relax without going in the water. The music was also a little loud, probably to help drown out the sound of people talking. It didn't really bother me too much but this shared space was definitely not a quiet zone - there was no enforcement for loud talkers. I also wished they had more than just cucumber water, as most other spas I've been to offer tea or a specialty refreshment. For services, I opted for a custom massage. It was just ok - I was surprised she didn't ask me about pressure at the start, but to her credit she did lighten up when asked. It's pretty great that you can book any service and enjoy the facilities all day (with no time limits). I would definitely come back!
