I've visited twice, both by appointment and need to note a few things. They are cash only but have an on site atm. Just be wary of your bank fees. Also, give extreme details about what you want done or else they will treat you like you're the biggest disruption of their time. I mean, even if one nail is broken on a refill. I'm not sure if whoever is making the appointment will actually take notes but do it anyway to save yourself the headache. After my last visit I dont think I'll ever return. It's been less than a week and 5 of my natural nails have already broken and peeled. They had been filed so thinly and roughly that at one point I saw the tech bend them with the filer. I had a dip powder applied, which should last 2 weeks. Mine lasted 4 days. I'm going back to my old salon. read more

Don't waste your time or your money. They do not advertise that they are basically appointment only, so I had no idea that when I came in I would have to wait an hour for a gel manicure. After waiting forever, my manicure was definitely rushed because my tech had an appointment. I would have much rather waited for someone who was going to rush my nails. The detailing on my manicure is definitely not up to par, gel is on my skin on the sides. She did not cut my cuticles on my nails either. NEVER GETTE MATTE HERE. My fingers look like I dipped them in a bowl of dust (see photos). I asked for a simple design. Black matte with a stiletto shape. I was so excited to move around the corner from them, because I've seen their work and think they do a beautiful job. For Christmas I asked my husband to get me a gift card there. Unfortunately, I use my hands a lot at work and manicures never last so I was planning on using this when I could actually enjoy it. I realized you only had six months from the date purchased to use it. I was about two weeks past the date so I politely asked if they would still honor it and they said no. It wasn't an expired promotion I was asking to use, it was money that was handed over to them for a service. Luxe was recommended to me by a friend who had never been but heard great things. I made an appointment for 2:30pm on a Thursday as I was in a bit of a rush for an event. When I arrived I was greeted pleasantly by staff. I waited maybe 30-45 minutes to be helped. This wasn't a huge deal at this point since I know gel manis don't take very long but my experience did not get much better after this. According to the menu gel manis cost $28. I walked out paying $50 (not including tip) for very simple nail art see photo attached (equivalent of a French mani design). Did not expect to pay that much and the young lady who did my nails (didn't catch her name) wasn't very friendly, kept texting while doing my nails, and rushed through my manicure. I left feeling like maybe I was taken advantage of because I was a new client but one would think of growing their business and wanting new clients to return. I often get gel manicures with simple line designs as the one attached and never pay more than $35 so I guess I'll just head back to my usual spot. I was in a bit of a time crunch that day and Luxe is closer to where I live now. This may be the place to go if you want extravagant nail art but probably not worth it if you want something simple. It is also possible that my experience was just a one off. I hate to say negative things about this place where most have a great experience. Let's talk waiting time: So I got there @10am when they're hours says they are open & they weren't opened yet so I decided to wait about 10 minutes , I called & no one answered after about 5 more minutes! Once I was inside I sat down signed into they're book, took about 15 more minutes for the lady to begin on my nails! Let's talk atmosphere: So I loved the atmosphere!!! No cursing! Which is a PLUS for me being as though they're may be days I would possibly have to bring my daughter with me! I love the fact that they play up to date music as well as oldies but they're (clean tracks) UGHH LOVE IT! The chairs to sit are comfy, the place is very updated! Looks pretty! The chairs to get a pedicure done are phenomenal!! Let's talk Nails & Nail designs: I love the shape she put into my nails (stiletto) but she shaped them even sharper, AMAZING! When I try a new place I always let the person doing my nails (freestyle) on them lol (don't know why) but I do! She did a pretty good job I must say! FYI- there is another Nail salon by the same name on the same street in the city....Actually there a few salons with the name in the city. When I booked the appointment (over a week prior) the location was not specified by the receptionist and the Venmo account where you are required to submit a deposit does not specify either. I went for my appointment and found the business I intended to book was closed. I immediately called and let them there know there must be a mistake and they will not refund my $30 deposit (this is normally the total price I pay for my complete fill service at the other Luxxe on Girard btw) or even a portion although I received no services. I am writing because I am sure this has happened to more people than just me and has been taken advantage of. read more

I visited Luxe for the first time this week. My nails did not turn out well, but I did ask the technician for a difficult design so it was not a big deal. Everyone at the shop was really friendly. When I walked in they took my temperature and had me wash my hands. During my service a man that they seemed to be friendly with walked in with no mask and they did not take his temperature. He then sat next to me for a manicure without his mask. This made me really uncomfortable- they had so many safety precautions in place but why was this person the exception? Seems like the techs do a good job there overall and are nice but not really into them giving exceptions about masks to people they are friendly with. read more

I scheduled an appointment a month in advance. They took my money for payment (120$) and when I arrived to the salon no one had ever put my appointment in the book. They acted so cavalier about my money and my time. LETS not forget the policy that if you cancel they will keep your money but if they cancel on you or not even put you in their book there's no sort of accommodation other than you can reschedule. I would Never reschedule services with such a trashy establishment. If I were you I would steer clear of luxe nail salon on 337 w Girard Avenue they have terrible customer service. They need to invest some of the money they charge into a website where you can book proper appointments instead of being cheap and disrespectful. Reclaiming my time! read more

Very disappointed with the level of customer service I received today. I have patronizing this business for over 5 years, spending over $120 every 3 weeks. I was 19 minutes late, due to construction blocking me in on my block. When I arrived I was told I could not be serviced and they would be keeping my $60 deposit. My appointment wasn't even scheduled correctly because my feet service was not included causing a shorter appointment time. You would think that I could have been offered shorter service to accommodate me after being such a loyal customer, but that was not the case. My new favorite nail salon. I went here for the first time today, I will definitely be going here for a while. I love this salon. It's clean, pretty, and most importantly my nails came out perfect. The women are all nice and down to earth. They ALL speak fluent english which is a major plus. Mary did my nails and she communicated with me every step of the way to make sure she was doing my nails exactly how I wanted. She TOOK HER TIME with every step. She made sure the tips were glued out straight and not crooked, she was careful and detailed with shaping and everything. She kept making sure the filing was even and smooth and went over and over until SHE was pleased. That made me so happy because so many salon focus on getting you in and out, they don't even care how you nails turn out. Not Luxe, they love beautiful nails. I can tell the majority of the clients that were in there were regular customers. The acrylic tips came out so perfect and then the gel application was the cherry on top. Flawless, flawless, flawless. They operate by appointments and walk ins. They do their walk in clients around their appointments. SO if you don't have an appointment be prepared to wait. I was greeted when I walked in then waited for about 20 minutes to be serviced which was not bad at all and was worth the wait 100%. If you're thinking about going, do it! Starting off, I've been coming here on a semi regular basis; about two times a month for the past two years. They may not know my name but they recognize me. Up until now my only complaint would be sometimes they are slow. But here are two things that made me stop going here Forever. A few weeks ago I came in there were three nail techs, and I was the only one waiting for a mani pedi. I sat patiently for about 35 mins since they were all occupied.nat about 40 mins, another woman walks in, and gets taken immediately because she had an appointment. That's not a problem If a: they gave me an estimated wait time or B: told me that there was an appointment coming in soon! They literally let me sign in, sit down, said NOTHING to me for 40 mins other than "she had an appointment". So I just left. The last straw is today. I went in to have my tips removed, that I had gotten done there 3 weeks ago. The previous time i Got tips removed here, itwas fast and I got a manicure. Today they wanted to soak it off. Which I hate because it takes forever, dries my skin and weakens the nail. The nail tech half heartedly tries to remove Acrylic nails with A PLASTIC TIP!!!! Shes taking her sweet time, removes 3 nails, then decides I MUST soak it off, because they are fresh. They are absolutely not fresh. I got these done before my wedding over 3 weeks ago. Anyways halfway through the soaking and her looking at her phone and I pad, I ask if she can just do a top coat, because it's taking too long, When I go up to pay, they tried to tell me it was 15!!!!!! I didn't even get a manicure, the nails were never fully removed, and I got one effing coat! In their own menu it says 5$ for removal! I explain this, and get told WITH attitude, that it's only 5 if you get a new set. Which by the way makes absolutely no sense, why someone would pay 5 dollars, spend an extra 40 mins, just to start the whole process over!! Finally I paid 10, which I think it still over charging. This is not the first time, because I also got over charged for having two nail designs on a gel manicure. I was already paying for the gel manicure, but he design apparently costs more.....since its gel.....which I'm already paying for...so they charged me 50 dollars for two measly designs on a 30 dollar service. read more

I will give this salon two stars because in the past I have really liked my nails but after the HORRIBLE customer service I received this past week I am never going there again. I made an appointment and when I arrived the nail tech had taken a walk in five minutes before my appointment time. When I asked about my appointment she didn't even raise her head to look me in the eyes and give me an answer....so rude. I ended up leaving and not having my nails done. The bright side to this is I ended up finding another nail salon that is much much cheaper and does a MUCH better job. And I am not even going to get into the pricing that they don't have because one person will charge you one price and someone else will charge a totally different amount which leads me to think I am being overcharged for my services. I went to Luxe after scrolling through insta to find a nail shop that could take me for an acrylic fill as i had a trip to go to. Their google and IG pages are flooded with very impressive pictures and reviews so i booked an appointment. I paid a $30 deposit that goes towards your service. Upon booking i asked how much it would be for a fill and was told it varies but starts at $20. I was completely ok with that. I went to my appointment and to my utmost disappointment i had the FASTEST fill id ever received. That's normally something i wouldn't complain about except, the tech didn't properly shape my nails, barely filled them, and applied really cheap polish. As I'm leaving, i was told the total for my service was $50. So i WASTED $80 on a basic fill, no design, and no shaping of my nails. I was angry but didn't feel like arguing so i left disappointed. Not even a week after having my nails "done" 2 of them broke and the polish looked crazy. I wish i took a picture so i could show you what I'm talking about. But I've never had gel polish turn..AT ALL, no matter how light the color is, all my gel polishes have weathered MINIMUM 3 weeks, where as their "gel" polish weathered maybe 1 week before it started to look crazy. It's like they used regular polish and charged OVER gel prices. I'll never go back here again. $80 for a fill?? No design, rhinestones, nothing. I'm not above spending cash on my nails, I'll drop $100 easy no question BUT it has to be worth it. I went in with stiletto nails that needed a fill and shape up and ended up with almond-ish/old stiletto looking nails. And this salon is supposed to be one of the best in the area. Ha! They are all hype! Unless there are specific nail techs you should see in there that i wasn't privy to? But the way they put on... EVERY tech in that salon should be SLAYING nails. In my opinion they are absolutely not worth it. Id give zero stars if i could. As I've suggested to my friends and others...if you're looking for a nail shop in north philly with reasonable prices and great techs...go to Nail Image in the Fresh Grocer Plaza. read more

Terrible experience- I am new the neighbor hood and was in search for a new mani/pedi spot. I went in on a Monday morning around 10:30 singed in with no one giving me a specific time. By 11:40 a nail tech took me over to get foil on my nails to soak off my gel polish-after she had my nails wrapped she said she has to take her next appointment! Ummm I thought I WAS the appointment! Most salons only have the foil on for an average of 5-10 minutes, I sat there with foil on my nails for 30mins! I got up and asked when I was going to be seen their response was 45 minutes! I left with out getting my nails done this place left a bad taste in my mouth with how badly they run their business. read more

I would not go anywhere else. I've gone to other salons on the whim and was so disappointed. Once you have Luxe quality, nothing compares! I do recommend an appointment. Lisa is amazing but but after trusting Lisa to try her staff I realized Lana, Nary, and Leann are amazing too! I haven't tried the other girls yet but many of them have loyal clients who rave about their work. Oh, and Linda's pedicures are premier spa quality heaven. Tips: try and book an appointment or do walkins midweek, early has worked best for me. But call ahead just to be sure, they are honest about wait time. Bring cash, there is an atm on site but who wants to chance their nails with a machine? I Tried it and failed. (Thanks Nary for fixing) Parking is easy, I usually luck up on 4th above Girard. Everyone at Luxe is so nice and friendly compared to many other salons that I've been to. I came here for the first time after a recommendation about their stiletto nail abilities. They have the largest collection of gel polishes I've ever seen. You'll definitely be able to find a color in gel lacquer. Lana does great simple designs by hand; I usually just get something geometric. The only problem I have is confusion about their pricing. I got gel overlay for $26. I thought the rate was GREAT and was very excited to have found a reasonable, friendly place. Then I went back for the second time and I obviously had to get the previous color off. My total came out to be $44. Not sure how. I was running so late for my next appointment that I didn't have time to question it. Tip: They don't accept tips on your card. Have cash. Typically, the wait would be half an hour (so I was told) but I was seated immediately! Undecided what I wanted done, I went with the usual gel polish. My nails never took a liking to gel manicures. I always found them peeling after a few days. Not these! Now I need to start remembering the names of people who work on me because they def deserve some credit! Designs: AMAZING. I can scroll through their Instagram for days and find 600 things I want and whenever I bring a picture it looks identical. Nail care: fantastic, I get the shellac, it NEVER peels I'm a hairstylist and my hands are in water all day and my nails stay nice for at least two weeks. Price: if you want designs its pricey that's the only real downfall. I got a design on two fingers on each hand, a gel removal and new gel polish on the rest with some jems and it was $62.
