Love coming here for a quick pedi as I live super close by! Generally cheap and good service for the price you pay. I like how they line the pedi bowls with plastic for cleanliness and the whole spa seems very clean and geared towards customer service. They have several drinks and snacks in the area that they offer. However, the worker you get can be hit or kiss because I've had phenomenal service from one of the older ladies who did my pedicures. She was very detailed with the gel polish, gentle with moving me where I need to go, and was great at the heel exfoliation and wax treatment. The shoulder massage at the end was a nice touch as well! However, I recently had another worker who was a bit rough with pulling me around or hitting my legs when she needed me to move and did the heel exfoliation for like 10 seconds then moved on. I would say the experience does depend on who you get. read more

Came in for a French pedicure, great price and great job. Lots of extra services including hot stones and an in depth massage. My tech was very nice and took her time to make sure it was done well. Tipped nicely and I will be back! read more

I went to get a regular mani pedi with my friend for an event. I looked at a lot of different nail salons and I had trouble finding a place with good location, price, and availability but this place was perfect in every way. The mani pedi was 50 dollars (went up 5 dollars recently I think because on the site it still says 45) but literally every dollar was worth it! They give you incredible service and they really take their time and are detailed throughout the entire process. I made reservations so I did not have to wait at all, but it was a Friday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. They offered me a drink as soon as I sat down in the pedicure chair. They have a selection of wine, sodas, or water. My technician was Betsy and she was the best. She even helped me choose a different color because she told me the color I chose was a lot more clear than it looks. Then for the manicure she gave me three coats when they usually give two because the color wasn't as visible as I thought it would be. It's been over a week and my regular manicure doesn't have a single chip or scratch on them which is so impressive. I'll definitely be coming back for every occasion! read more

Horrible. Do not waste your money.. One day I was charge $37 and the next time it was $50 for the same service. The manicurist did not talk - did not even tell me her name. Very unfriendly. With so many salons to choose from - do not go there! read more

Had a really terrible experience here earlier this week. I came in for a manipedi. The massage included with the pedicure was pretty weak to start off with but I figured maybe the technician was new or tired. For the manicure that followed, the technician was extremely rough and not careful to avoid catching my skin as she was buffing out the tops of my nails with an Emory board. She ended up cutting one of my cuticles to the point that I ended up bleeding. She then sprayed something from a spray bottle into a paper towel and rubbed it over the tops of all my nails at which point I realized how many more cuts I had because almost all my cuticles started burning terribly. I've truly never had anything like this happen to me while getting a manicure and it made me extremely concerned that I could become one of those awful infection cases that sometimes come up in the news. I've had to wear bandaids on four fingers this week to avoid reopening cuts on my cuticles which is just completely not the look one is hoping for coming out of a manicure. I truly didn't want to pay for the service but I didn't ask because I just wanted to get out of there so I could treat my cuts as soon as possible. This used to be my go to nail salon for years but the last couple times I'd gone before this had been a bit more lackluster relative to the quality of service I'd had here before. With this latest experience, I just cannot come here again. read more

I was in philly for the roots picnic and really wanted to be pampered before meeting up with my friends. It was the nail salon closest to my hotel. I got a gel manicure by a new staff member. She was kind and took her time but I had a feeling the owner was not 100% satisfied. I did not mind my nails. The owner asked if I was satisfied and I said it was ok. When I looked at my nails the paint job was not the best . The owner offered me another mimosa and said she will remove the polish and did my nails over. It was so sweet. I could tell the difference in quality of service and skill. I will definitely be back when in philly read more

Love this place! My friend introduced me to this place and I keep coming back. The techs here are really nice and do a great job. They always offer you a drink when you come in. They clean the place really well and sterilize their equipment. Price on point as well. They have a reward program as well. A perfectly fine salon in Center City - came here around the holidays for a regular mani so there was a bit of a wait as a walk-in - overall the service was attentive and I paid $20 including tip - probably won't be coming here again though, as there are other places where the quality is just as good for cheaper read more

I've been to coco blue spruce a few times and my experience has always been great. This time I saw Monica and had a very terrible experience. I made an appt for a gel manicure at 5:45 and arrived at 5:30 to give myself enough time to decide on a color. At 5:32, Monica approached me asking me to decide on a color fast and I told her I needed another minute but she insisted I choose the color after my dip was soaked off. That was fine but I felt really rushed from the beginning. Whenever I have been to coco blue spruce, they always offer a drink (all the customers around me were offered drinks), but Monica did not offer me anything. There was a miscommunication where she thought it was previous gel I had on, not dip, so after realizing that it was dip, she was very angry and said "why didn't you tell me this was dip!" I sincerely apologized for the miscommunication, but she rolled her eyes and complained to the rest of the staff in front of me. After soaking my nails and rolling her eyes throughout, she started filing my nails. It was very apparent that my nails were filed crooked (pictures attached). When I told her it was crooked, she would roll her eyes and "fix" it but it would then become more crooked. It got to the point where I felt uncomfortable asking her to straighten them but my nails looked so misaligned. I told her I would pay for everything that was done but need to leave and not proceed with my gel manicure. She just said "ok" and I paid at the front and left her a tip. The woman at the front was very nice in asking why I didnt want to get the color done and when I explained the rudeness I encountered, she apologized for Monica's behavior. I have never had such an uncomfortable experience not only at a nail salon, but in customer service in general. I am not sure why Monica treated me differently than the other customers, but I will absolutely never return to this nail salon again. read more

Probably the worst nail salon experience I've ever had. I had an appointment for a dip manicure and regular pedicure. I greeted my tech nicely, but she treated me pretty rudely from the beginning. When I chose my colors and sat, she started my pedicure without even speaking a word to me - didn't ask me about water temp at all. Another lady comes from the back to start removing my existing dip. The drill was getting too hot because she kept it on constantly and I told her that it was getting too hot and burning my skin under my nail, she moves to the second nail and does the same thing and I told her again, when she gets to the third nail I had to physically pull my hand away to get her to stop. When she starts again, she continues to literally overheat the drill on the rest of my nails but there was no point in saying anything since she didn't understand. Next, when she's wrapping my nails in foil with acetone and cotton, she soaked the cotton in so much acetone that every time she went to fold over the foil, acetone would literally drip all over my hand. Again, sat through this happening 10 times since she couldn't understand that this was an issue. By the time she reached my last nail, my hands were literally wet with acetone. After I was done being distracted by her, I finally get a chance to look at how my pedicure is going. I look to both sides of me, where both clients were offered multiple rounds of wine/beer. Neither of my techs even spoke to me, let alone offer me water. The pedicure was at best just ok - I get home and still see dry skin on the soles of my feet. My last pedicure before this was about 3 weeks ago, so she really had no excuse to not remove it. Moving on to the mani - I asked her to cut my nails short and she advised me that the dip would be too thick. I told her I always get them short, and the dip is buffed out enough that it never looks too thick. I also told her that I've been getting dip for over 3 years now. After she was done cutting a few, I told her I would need them shorter. She said that she's not done yet and she would file them down - I said ok, totally get it as my past nail techs have done it this way - just wanted to let her know. When the time for filing comes, she didn't file them down even when I asked her to multiple times. The dip itself was extremely thick, dented, uneven, rough to touch and literally on my skin. It has been less than a week and it's already starting to peel off. She also kept pulling my hand and sighing and rolling her eyes during this whole process. Definitely the most unpleasant nail salon experience I have had, and was totally blindsided after reading all the good reviews. Again, not a single word spoken to me during my whole time there. My tech keep leaving during the pedicure to go to the back and was CONSTANTLY checking her watch to respond to messages while she was doing my nails. I was literally shocked. I was itching to get out and debated leaving mid appointment the entire time. The woman handling the front was super nice and I wanted to talk to her after my appointment, but she was gone by then. A super rude experience and a low quality job - i will not be returning or recommending this place at all. read more

Coco Blue goes above and beyond. I went for the $40 manicure and pedicure today. I began by sitting in the big pedicure chair and was offered a complimentary drink. They have water, soda, juice and wine. I received a toe massage in addition to the standard leg message and lotion. Tui asked me questions and made suggests, e.g. cutting one nail to avoid possible ingrown toe nail, etc. Also included was paraffin for my heels and a hot stone massage! Tui then offered me a second glass of free wine and did my nails at the table after finishing my toes in the chair. She offered to cut my cuticles, which I prefer. It all ended with a free back massage. What a bargain for $40! My nails look great and I picked my favorite Opi color. Tui and the team at Coco Blue are worth every penny! read more

Came across Coco Blue Spruce on Yelp. Read the good and bad reviews, was iffy but one of their offer was luring me in. Can you guess?......... The fact that they offer drinks such as mimosas and champagne is a PLUS for me. I have never been to a nail spa that actually offers anything like that:) I made a appointment at 4pm for me and hubby on the day, bc I've heard they get extremely packed so to play it safe, appointment is good. We arrive a bit early but they were able to start on us right away. Hubby got express pedi, my daughter get color on both hand and feet and I got the gel pedicure. Shout out to Diana, T, and Kim for taking care of us. Especially Kim for the extra mile for my daughter. So since everything is so good, why 3 stars? My daughter's finger got 2 color missing. I didn't expect to lasts for weeks but less than one day???? Worst yet, her price is $20. $20 for a young child is steep. I wouldn't mind if it last a bit longer, but one day is unacceptable. P.S. For anyone that want to get acrylics, they only have one nail tech that do them, and she is only available on Mon, Weds, Fri-Sun. read more

Having lived on the same block as this salon for 3+ years, I can't believe it took me this long to try it! This salon has it ALL. Today I went in for a pedicure ($30), and was helped immediately! (Sunday at noon!!) There was a variety of colors, they have shellac/gel and "longer lasting" polish (additional $5) right with the regular polish, which was a little difficult for me visually to pick my polish. I was then taken to a chair in the back of the salon - nail stations are in the front. There was a TV playing HGTV - my fave - and a fridge full of complimentary beverages (wine, beer, champagne, juices, soda, water) and a keurig for coffee/tea. The pedicure was thorough and included a hot stone massage AND paraffin wax for the heel. I was thoroughly pleased with the service and salon as a whole. There was an ATM that had a $2 surcharge, BUT they end up giving you $2 off your service so it's basically "free" - so thoughtful! There were also signs all over for joining their rewards program you get 5% off your total if you pay in cash and 2% off if you pay with card. Finally, they had tip envelopes which I felt was a nice touch. I will 100% be back! read more

I used to love this place and went regularly for years but my latest experience really made me not want to return here again. If Monica is doing your nails you should request someone else. I had a gel mani and pedi scheduled and on that day she was manning the front desk while trying to do my nails. The entire time she was looking around at the other workers, training them verbally in Spanish and running back and forth making appointments as other clients came in. It was incredibly stressful and the rushed and inattentive job showed in how my nails turned out. I asked her to be very gentle with my cuticles and after my pinky cuticle started bleeding she didn't acknowledge it nor apologize - just got annoyed when I asked her to fix a nail she had sloppily painted on. There are plenty of other places to get your nails done where you won't feel so rushed and stressed. I don't think anyone should be answering phone calls, manning the front desk and payments and appointments, while taking on a client. read more

Really reasonably priced nail place in the city. Lovely pedicures, nice manicures; I've only gotten standard ones, no gel or acrylic or anything, but I enjoy it every time. The workers are skilled and kind, and it's very relaxed and comforting. Pedicures include hot stones, lotion, scrub, etc. even if not a spa pedicure, which is a win in my book. Definitely recommend! *Make sure to bring CASH for the tip!* read more

I feel like the reviews from this salon really tricked me into going there when my usual place was overbooked. First, I did not like the way they cut the skin on my fingers and actually the woman made me bleed and said nothing. I was going to just overlook it and not go back, but within a week my gel manicure was peeling off and chipping. The place I go it literally stays on until the next time I go....it's even been on for 4 full weeks without peeling or chipping when I couldn't make it in. Walked in here on a Sunday for a dip mani and they were great in accommodating! The techs are super nice and offered a beverage. Their dip color options are quite limited and I felt like it looked less natural compared to other places I've been. On the pricier side too ($50) including dip removal. Go to my girls Autumn and Lina for a good job and good convo (not that they are my girls as I've only been once haha but they were phenomenal!). Super efficient and good service. I got there and immediately got seated. A second later I already had a glass of white in my hand with my feet soaking in the chair and my back on full relaxation abusing the massage control. Lina did my pedi while Autumn did my mani. They took me in last minute right before closing so they did both my hands and toes roughly at the same time. Luckily at least one of my hands was always free to keep sipping on my wine. Both Lina and Autumn were super nice and we talked about lashes and favorite food spots in the city. Was great to hear where they came from and for them to be so jovial. My nails came out really well! It's week two right now and I'm still happy with the results. They haven't really chipped and I loved the shaping. I largely shape them myself to a sort of rounded point and they played off that. I was out in like half an hour (: read more

I never write bad reviews, but I am certain I was racially profiled at this location. While they treated me with the upmost respect, I noticed that I was the only patron they asked to pay in the middle of service. She stopped serving me to make me pay, as if I was going to get up and walk away. In all honesty, I was confused and went with it. I got up and dried my hands to pay. But I did notice that all other (white) patrons paid at the counter in the very end. I don't get my nails done very often but I do know that this is abnormal and not something that I think is appropriate for staff to do. I still tipped because she completed the service & did well, but my treatment during the service was subpar. Would avoid this place again. read more

Stuck in Philly during COVID lockdown part deux. Decided to try and support a local business during tough times. Paid $35 for a gel manicure. What a mess! The polish really needed another coat and is streaky. Far worse, the polish around the cuticles is messy - not clean endpoint like it should be. The polish on my thumb chipped on the way home when my hand brushed against my fabric purse. That should not happen if the gel mani is properly done and cured. Other young clientele acted fairly bougie and microaggressive...while talking about living in apartments packed with roommates. (To the manor born you all are not.) Would avoid. I'll probably have my nails redone immediately when I get home. read more

While I left here last time excited to return, this time I left with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I appreciate that they were able to accommodate my chair massage, even though I arrived at a very busy hour (around 5:30ish). The level of scrambling in the front of the store, however, was a bit concerning. I can tell they try to accommodate every walk-in appointment, but it doesn't look like they are able to give accurate estimates for the wait time. My wait was supposed to be 5 minutes and was more like 10, which still isn't too bad, but not what I was told. Inevitably someone took me back for the chair massage. The woman who did it this time was not the same person as my last visit, so I was bit apprehensive. Rightfully so, because the massage wasn't as good. She did ask me what areas of focus I wanted, but the last person seemed to just know what she was doing and seemed a bit more in-tune to her technique. This time she didn't even know the massage included a hot stone and didn't know the price of the massage I was getting. Whens he realized her mistake of not including the hot stone, she kind of gave it halfheartedly at the end. The massage was OK, but I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way to return. read more

I had a dip manicure, regular pedicure and a 30 minute chair massage. Everything was great until it was time to pay. I was given a total of $120. I gave Tania, who did the mani, more than 20% tip. I then asked her to break a $20 bill so I could tip Rosa, who did the pedi and massage. She took the bill and closed the register. Surprised, I asked for my money and she told me that was for Rosa's tip. I intended to tip Rosa more than 20% (and I did), but it was rude and aggressive for Tania to try to force me to leave a 27% tip by taking my $20 when I asked her to break the bill. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and soured the experience. The owner or manager who was sitting next to us did nothing. No one said goodbye when I left. A Corona at 10am? Although I declined, I was highly tempted by the complementary beverage. I'm not sure why I've never had my nails done in Philly but I can honestly say, it's a shame I haven't taken an opportunity to test out the market. It's hard enough for us (women) to find a salon/technician that understands us perfectly. We tend to stick to what we know because in the end we know the result will be up to our standards. This place excels in treating it's customers with the utmost importance. There's a hot stone massage (legs and feet) and paraffin wax added to every pedicure service. While your nails dry they will even give you a neck massage to seal the deal. These people aren't playing games. Linda gave me the hookup. She's very understanding of ticklishness; which in my case, is horrid. I didn't kick her but she looked up during her scrubbing my right foot and said she was so sorry. I've had my eye on this salon for a while, but never made it down to Washington square. After seeing some treacherous conditions at my old salon, I figured it was a good time to find a new nail home. I made an 8 am appointment on a Saturday morning, and ended up being 15 minutes late. They were so accommodating, and worked with my delay. Once I arrived, I was immediately ushered to pick a color and head back to the chairs. Cheryl, was the nail tech that did my pedicure and manicure. She was PHENOMENAL! She helped me select a color, from their vast selection and even considered my weekend activities + longevity to do so. She offered me a beverage (they have sparkling & white wine, soda, coffee and tea) and began my pedicure. A normal pedicure includes exfoliation, hot stone, and parrafin wax. You can tell they really work hard to cultivate a comfortable quiet environment where you would want to indulge and relax. Then I moved over to get my gel manicure. Which was just as amazing, she really did a great job and worked right up to my cuticle. I'm incredibly rough on my nails and this is one of the first times that gel has lasted on my nails for two weeks other than some additional growth they look as good as the day I got them down *added bonus - they don't use drills!* This will definitely be my go to from now on. read more

I have to say- even though this is a slightly farther hump then my usual salon, it's well worth the couple of extra blocks! My experience here this past weekend was magical! I rarely get to really relax at salons as there's always that 'token' person talking loudly to someone else or on their cell phone (you know the type) but everyone here- staff and customers seem to relish in the zen of getting pampered and alone time! The space is long and narrow, set off the street so it's a bit tricky to find but it would be a great place to bring my DH since he likes to get a pedi but doesn't like to go to places where you're right in view of the picture window (he's weird like that) They have a cash back point system if you sign up for their rewards card which is a bonus if you are some be like me and gets weekly manicures! I liked that they used new and clean tools. They did a good job with cleaning the cuticles. If you want a basic gel nail with NO designs then this is the place for you. I was stuck in Philly for a few weeks for work and just needed my gel manicure soaked off and my nails trimmed. I came to Coco thinking that was an easy enough ask. Instead of waiting for my gel to properly soak off, the manicurist scraped and filed off the polish and proceeded to file my nails within an inch of their life. Within a day, my nails were cracking and peeling. I took the new, regular polish off and my nails have not stopped cracking or peeling since. I trimmed my nails down as close as possible to my nail bed, and even the new growth is fragile and breaking. I've never had issue with strong nail growth; my nails grow quickly and rarely break. I'm worried they've permanently damaged my nails here. read more

If I lived in Philadelphia, I would 100% make this my regular mani-pedi spot!! I got their most simple mani-pedi. The nail techs were so amazing that my pedicure is still perfect 3 weeks later. My manicure also lasted almost a week and a half! The nail techs were very nice too! I find this to be rare in a nail salon. The salon was well taken care of and clean! The massage chairs each worked. The place where you sit and dry your nails has two separate buttons for the UV and the air so you can turn off the UV if you'd like. At the end of your mani-pedi, while you are sitting down to dry your nails, they give you a short shoulder massage, which is a cool bonus! read more

I stopped by for a quick gel manicure before going away to a wedding this weekend. The salon looks great inside and there's a giant tv that keeps you occupied. They offer you a massage while drying your nails but honestly you can go without it! The price is fair ($35) and the service was good. They have a great gel color selection, not limiting but not overwhelming! I got my gel manicure done on Wednesday and it started chipping only a couple of days after. A giant chunk chipped off during the wedding reception and then the whole nail peeled off shortly after. I will be sticking to my usual place but may give their pedicures a try if I'm crunched for time. read more

I come here every now and then mainly for pedicures because it's super affordable. They do a good job with the pedicures and they usually last at least 2 weeks before chipping. They have a wide selection of colors with the OPI polish which is an extra $5. I wish they had a greater variety of colors with the non OPI polish. I've gotten a gel manicure here a few times but that can be a hit or miss with how long it'll last. They don't have a lot of nail techs that can do an acrylic full set so you might have to schedule an appointment instead of just walking in. They accept cards but tips are cash only. I definitely recommend this place because they are quick, do a good job and are nice! read more

I'm really torn on this review. While my experience was awesome, my gel mani chipped on Day 4....not my nail, the actual gel coating. I visited Coco Blue Spruce on the recommendation of a close girlfriend and had quite an enjoyable time. I had a glass of wine, the massage chair during my pedicure was next level relaxing, and HGTV was playing on the TV....I was truly living my best life that Saturday. I got a regular pedi over gel because the likelihood of my messing up a pedicure is far less than that of a mani. The pedi was awesome, from the care of the nail tech to the hot stones and paraffin heel wax, I'd go back for a splash of color on my toes for sure. But then comes the mani - my first ever gel manicure, an exciting time in my life. My coworkers rave about the long life of the gel coat and I figured it was a great move for me considering the wedding I was getting the mani for was still a week away. I've heard of salons in the city offering a two-week guarantee of chip-free nails so I expected the shiny paint to last at least through the wedding. Sadly on day 4, Wednesday, I noticed that the paint had split at the top of my pointer nail and the gel was separating from the nail of that same hands thumb. I was so bummed and immediately took to a scavenger hunt of the house we were staying in to find some crazy glue to reinforce the gel. The crazy glue was no match for my sad chipped nail and unfortunately I went to the wedding with a messed up mani. I feel like there have to be better salons in the city that offer gel manis at a reasonable price, I guess it's on me to find out which they are. Time to go back to salon hopping. read more

I came in this morning for a gel mani before a wedding and I had Monica as my nail tech. She was AMAZING. She was definitely a perfectionist, which is what you want in a nail tech.
