I've never been sugared before today - I had Adrian who was amazing and very knowledgeable. Adrian made me feel very comfortable and educated me on the products they use and history of hair removal. Very easy to talk to and just a kind person overall. There were definitely more painful parts of the Brazilian but I will 100% return. We started on time and it took about 30 min total. You have to pay when you book your appointment which is understandable given last minute cancelations. I do recommend arriving a little early for your first time to ensure you have time to get through the door of the building (which requires a pin) and take the elevator to their suite in a timely fashion. read more

Julie and Adrian, a mother/daughter duo own this place and after being there twice so far, I had such amazing experiences. The place is clean, Julie and Adrian are super friendly and really love what they do. I've been a European wax center client for years but will never go back to any other wax besides sugar waxing! It was less painful, less irritating to the skin, didn't leave a sticky residue and regrowth is significantly less and it costs much less than European wax center! Went for my first Brazilian sugaring after shaving/reg waxing and she explained everything to me as soon as I entered the room. I'm 7 months pregnant and so it's REALLY hard not to feel awkward esp when a stranger is up close and personal for these things..but Julie honestly was so sweet and it was all over in no time. The sugaring itself was still painful for me (again, I'm pregnant so it's still gonna hurt) but def hurts less than reg hard wax. I had an appointment with Adrian, now lemme break down in detail how much of a smooth and amazing experience that was, and will be for you a potential customer. 1. I googled places for hair removal, found this place based on reviews, which you, a potential customer, are reading now. 2. Made an appointment online with their easy system, signed up for text and email reminders so I wouldn't forget! 3. Got a nice email reminder with details on how to prepare for my appointment 4. Came to the location, a nice discrete but well marked building with a number of businesses, I appreciated the privacy of it. You'll find them on the third floor. 5. I was greeted by Adrian, and offered a restroom break if I needed, it was a nice opportunity to freshen up for myself and give a good pep talk in the mirror :) 6. Adrian took me into the room for my appointment, they knew it was my first time so they went in detail about what sugaring is. I got a really great lesson about what I was about to experience. The establishment is kept super clean and I felt safe the whole time. This is not some random room in the back of a nail salon. It's a specialty service and it's treated as such. 7. I undressed and sat on the table and got sugared up! Adrian and I talked about every topic under the sun under our visit because talking made me feel comfortable. The appointment is run based on how you are handling things. If you need time between sections or any other accommodations similar Adrian adjusts! An open dialogue was the best part of the whole thing. I was never afraid to comfortably explain my needs. 8. Your final step is to forget waxing ever existed. Everyone's pain tolerance and needs differ, and Adrian has a fantastic understanding of that. As a would have been new customer I am very disheartened by my experience with this company. Unfortunately I did not receive good let alone any service from Philly Sugaring. I scheduled a same day appointment and couldn't make it due to work. When I tried to cancel prior to my appointment I was told that I could reschedule but they had nothing in the time frame necessary so I asked for a refund. It took 3 days before I got a response after reaching out multiple ways and was told I can't get a refund because I called too late. While I understand some company's charge a late or cancellation fee, but they are refusing me $55 full service charge for being unable to reschedule! I honestly wish I didn't have to leave a review like this, but my experience is upsetting and I wouldn't want anyone else to experience this. read more

I admittedly went with her because she spent some time in the northwest (according to her bio) and I wanted to chat it up about all things Seattle with someone. Their policies are insane and even when I had 30 more mins left in my appt they refused to finish the service because I was 5 mins late. Where is the logic?? there is no logic. Just give the customers what they are paying for instead of being so steadfast in strict policies that have no purpose but to lose customers. Not to mention the amount or attitude I received when I asked to finish my awkward looking half a Brazilian and not pay for an entirely new one... this place could have been great but I am never coming back. It actually reminded me to book another appt, before going I had never had sugar waxing done, had never been fully waxed ever, only eyebrows. Although I'm super weird about my body parts being exposed, I wanted to try it. My anxiety had me sweating in all the worst places, poor esthetician, lol. But by the end of the app, her and I were cracking jokes, talking about life and she really made me feel like it was a no judgement zone. I can only imagine how she really felt, lol but I'd do it again if that's any constellation, there was some pain involved but I don't have any other wax experience to compare it to. Adrian was awesome!!! I went to get this Brazilian sugar wax done after I heard wonderful things about sugar waxing from a Facebook Mother's group!! It's been 15 years since I had a regular wax and although I am extremely tolerant to pain the memory that I have in my mind of a regular Brazilian wax was definitely painful, left me with welts and irritation and the occasional ingrown hair in the worst possible place on my body!! Needless to say I love Brazilians but obviously wasn't in a hurry to get back to it since it had been 15 years since my last! So when I heard about sugaring I was extremely excited. I found the half off special for this lovely little hideaway on Yelp and booked my appointment instantly! I live in Delaware so Philly wasn't too far (the price we pay for beauty right)!! Upon arrival I could hear that Adrian was with a client so I patiently waited in the front area and she finished up fairly quickly! From the moment she emerged from the room to the moment I left Adrian made me feel welcomed and comfortable. We chatted away, which is something you don't usually get from the typical wax Estheticians, and she took her time explaining the process from start to finish. She informed me of the pros and cons of waxing vs sugaring and I now feel like an expert explaining them to my friends! LOL!! The fact that this is a mother/daughter run business is phenomenal and it is clear that they take great pride in what they do!! Making women feel beautiful in a place that can sometimes feel not so beautiful at times!- so Kudos and thank you to these wonderful humans!!
