My stylist was on time and I did not have any issues during my appointment. The vibe was enjoyable and everyone was in the Christmas spirit. No gossip, no drama, no negativity... all love! I have pretty curly hair and once I got home and styled it with the products and technique I like, WOW. It's been a long time since I liked my hair, my curls look amazing, and her cut really flattered my face. I'm excited to see how it looks when I blow it out. Heather was also super friendly and fun to chat with, we had some great conversation while she did her thing. It's pricier than what I'd typically pay for my hair, but I'm realizing I'm picky about how my hair looks and like I said, it's been quite some time since I was happy with the way someone cut it. So even though Irene failed to introduce herself, didn't listen, and cut my hair in grim silence aside from a few oddly hostile remarks, I trusted that she'd give me a competent bob. She did not. When she handed me a mirror to check the back, I was shocked. It looked like I'd been run over by a lawn mower. There was no shape and no volume; I could do (and have done) a better job on myself, in the dark with manicure scissors. They comped the whole experience, most likely so I wouldn't write this review. Three hours later I found another salon to give me a pixie. The rescue stylist confirmed that Irene's hack job was every bit as bad as I thought. I now have MUCH shorter hair than I wanted, but at least it looks intentional.

Irene understands hair, listens, is great with feedback, talks you through the process and is overall a great conversationalist. I enjoyed some wine as we chatted about what my hair goals were and she absolutely gave me the haircut and color I asked for. I waited a couple of days post cut to report back on my experience to see how it was after I washed it- it's absolutely perfect, the hair cut, the color - I'm in love with how I look, I feel like we brought back my natural color in a dynamic way and the cut is easy to style. What was really genuine was Irene's candor about the process. She told me if I had any issues in a few days to let her know and we'd work it out. That is a true artist and stylist. I highly recommend Irene. The space is also really beautiful at Plume, one of the nicest salon bathrooms I've ever seen. I felt welcomed and really enjoyed my experience.

Originally I thought it was hot because it was summer, but this time it was a cool day in April. I was expecting a long wait, but they made sure I was seated in their salon chair within minutes. They offered me water in a nice glass and made sure that I was comfortable. I showed them a picture of the highlighting expectations that I had and they assured me that they could do it exactly how I wanted. They were quick, efficient, and very friendly during the whole process. I opted to get highlights with an ombre style. They let me know that it would be very natural and it turned out great! I have highlights in my hair that are intensified more at the ends for a more natural, less-streaky look. I asked for caramel/blonde highlights and that's exactly what I got. I love how the ombre highlights aren't overpowering and are emphasized when I curl my hair. This hair color is going to be low maintenance, and I can definitely grow it out. The gloss and product that they used smelled great and lasted even when I washed my hair out a few times. During the washing process, they provided a great head massage and I was really appreciative. At the end, they blew dry my hair and flipped it out just like the picture I showed them. I plan on going to California for Spring Break, so this hair color is well-suited for the beach. I plan on coming here for the rest of my hair appointments in the future especially since the staff is very accommodating and very interpersonal. Their prices are very reasonable.
